i'm calling it: the fire phone is going to be a flop...it's stupid
6/19/2014 9:31:51 PM
probably. I hope they release firefly as a standalone app
6/19/2014 10:00:38 PM
Folks that follow closer than I, have you seen or heard anything about a potential Galaxy Note 4 release date?I'm trying to figure out if I should just hang on or go ahead and get something new now.

The Amazon Fire may do well with old people because of the included 24/7 support, this feature has been popular among old people on their tabletthe phone won't be a blockbuster though, and I think Amazon is fine with that

^^should be announced relatively soon[Edited on June 20, 2014 at 2:49 PM. Reason : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOOa1wZhkzY]

I got a new chromebook today. My laptop took a shit, then I got to thinking about it and I have not opened MS office on it in forever....everything is in google drive. Spent $130 bucks.
6/20/2014 9:29:52 PM
Which one did you get?
6/21/2014 12:52:58 AM
I got one of the pressy button knockoffs in the mail todayeh.
6/23/2014 7:26:03 PM
^ was it one of the $0.39 ones mentioned on slickdeals a week or so ago? i ordered two, excited to get arrive and do nothing with them
6/23/2014 7:35:48 PM
think it was like $2. just took forever since it was chinese mailit might be more useful if I didn't have a case on my phoneif you have a samsung phone, be careful not to press the button as you put it in the jack, it'll screw up the app recognizing it because of touchwiz nonsense
6/23/2014 7:48:08 PM
I got my cheap ass push button the other day. I don't think I'll use it much.I had it set where one button press turns on the flashlight which is pretty handy. But every now and then it would automatically turn on in my pocket. So I disabled the ability of that one-press command when the phone is locked. But then if I accidentally press the button, it starts playing GV voicemails...I think there must be something built into the phone where if you plug in headphones, it automatically starts playing music from your phone or something. Also, Google Now doesn't work properly when it's plugged in. I can actually say "Google Now" and the voice search gets activated, but it doesn't pick up anything I say, as if I wasn't talking. But it was only like $2 with shipping so oh well
6/23/2014 8:04:13 PM
i ordered this one from gearbest: http://slickdeals.net/f/7009468-peeping-vinyl-closestool-wall-sticker-diy-59-mobile-smart-universal-dustproof-plug-for-android-0-39-fsi will undoubtedly forget about it until it arrives in 2 or 3 weeks

eh, Xiaomi isn't exactly a small company. they stole the Android VP from Google so...
6/24/2014 7:17:27 AM
6/24/2014 7:22:06 AM
I wonder how many of the issues with the cheap pressy button are in the hardware, versus the coding in the KlicK app.]
6/24/2014 11:56:13 AM
it's not the hardware. hardware is as simple as you can get, and will be the same among all of them.app i used was http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mikey-app-1-6-0.24220/. it was alrighti just didn't get enough utility out of it to keep it there. it's awkward to press on my Note3 with the case on. i'm sure others can find a use for it. it'd be good for an instant flashlight button if i didn't have an exposed module installed that does the same thing
6/24/2014 12:02:28 PM
I used this, per the description page of the link you posted to buy ithttp://download.helloklick.com/appBut I might try the other app and see if it works any better
6/24/2014 12:58:24 PM
^^Wow that app looks terrible. Unless you speak fluent Chinese.
6/24/2014 2:19:41 PM
that would be why i used the english version
6/24/2014 2:43:40 PM
how/where?
6/24/2014 3:02:05 PM
where it says DOWNLOAD in that link i posted. or http://d-h.st/UTr[Edited on June 24, 2014 at 3:31 PM. Reason : im guessing you clicked on the source apk link]

Any thoughts on the L-release?
6/25/2014 7:10:11 PM
the materials ui and lock/notification page is stealing some good bits from apple, I like itI'm getting a moto 360
6/25/2014 7:42:11 PM
Android Auto needs to be a thing, like, yesterday.

I would highly recommend installing the Android L keyboard. Its awesome.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.shenye.android.inputmethod.latin

Give me 3 reasons why I should consider even downloading it when Swiftkey is free now

7/2/2014 11:51:44 AM
Tried it out, wasn't real impressed. Swiftkey is still the best keyboard in my opinion.
7/2/2014 3:55:26 PM
I will have to try SwiftKey. I have never used it.
7/2/2014 5:51:10 PM
SK is cool, but the only that that annoys me about it is that the Voice Command Key is not a standalone key :/
7/2/2014 6:21:39 PM
You just hold the comma button down for half a second.
7/3/2014 11:55:51 AM
If you were going to upgrade to a Verizon-branded Android smartphone, what would you upgrade to? Thinking the HTC One m8 over the Galaxy S5. I really want a Nexus 5, but Verizon and all.
7/5/2014 9:28:20 PM
Go into a Verizon store and dick around with all of them in person and get the one you like the most
7/5/2014 10:33:16 PM
I personally love the Droid MAXX. I bought it out of contract, and I didn't want to spend the fortune on the m8 out of contract.(Although I will still say that I utterly hate not having a Goddamned physical QWERTY keyboard... I'm gettin' olllllllllllllllld.)

Trying to figure out the best settings for SwiftKey for a combination of large keyboard size and app visibility]
7/8/2014 11:27:14 PM
Shouldn't it be about time for Sprint to lower the upgrade price on the S5 from $200? Or is that wishful thinking...
7/8/2014 11:56:38 PM
maybe, once they start trying to push the G3
7/9/2014 11:20:01 AM
Anyone have any advice for new Android phones? Can't decide between the HTC M8 or the Galaxy S5. Have been an Apple user up to this point and my 4s crapped out on me yesterday.
7/10/2014 1:36:56 PM
HTC is solid build quality.I have the One m7 ... I'd recommend the m8.
7/10/2014 1:43:03 PM
Yeah I'd probably get the M8
7/10/2014 1:45:13 PM
looking at adding a UAG case for whichever I buy. Those things look rugged, while keeping it slim at the same time.
7/10/2014 2:01:10 PM
Yeah I posted basically the same question on M8 v S5. I'm wondering--is it worth waiting for the LG G3? I'm guessing it won't be cheap even on contract, and it's a big'n. Would it be worth waiting for, even just to see if the S5 or M8 go lower in price?
7/10/2014 6:05:29 PM
G3 is gonna be $100 on contract...all phones are "cheap" on contract. Am I missing something?
7/10/2014 7:18:59 PM
I mean, comparatively the G5 and M8 are both $199 right now, so that was my point.
7/10/2014 9:18:23 PM
The G3 is $199 on contract.
