Thanks! it was fun, but I'm trying to grow it out now. Since all my friends are getting married and shit, I feel I should have longer hair for up-dos.

^ I would prefer you not to have an updo, personally

You look hot with short hair

I mean, I know you have other weddings that will be more formal and shit, but you saw how I'm going to wear my hair... Formal isn't exactly what we're going for

i want a Geneva Platinum jelly watch...

but there are so many to choose from..

i like the white one...

but i'm thinking maybe the black zebra...

or i could get really crazy and do white and zebra

or maybe just a nice, neutral tan...

or white and tan...

this may be my favorite but i'm not sure...

[Edited on February 4, 2011 at 10:09 AM. Reason : there are way too many of these to choose from]

maybe i went back to my olay cloths for oily skin this morning. guess i'll stick w/ it.

britta, i've had really short hair (it's like 2-2.5" long maybe) for about 10 years now. before, i had thick frizzy poufy hair that i could never do anything with very easily. once i cut it short i was pissed i hadn't done it earlier. i just run my hands through it to mess it up in the morning a little bit then i'm good to go. sometimes i'll put that shaping clay stuff in it. i'll never ever go back to longer hair. it doesn't change w/ the humidity bc it's so short. it's awesome for backpacking

oh & it's not buzzed or anything. think pixy/fairy type

^^ LP, I LOVE the white and tan watch. Those are cute! How much do they cost?

Also, Britta, my hair is extremely, extremely naturally curly and gets VERY, very curly when it's short ... seems similar to yours. You'll prob either need to invest in a hair dryer and a lot of products OR do a keratin treatment to keep your hair smooth enough to maintain the look you want. For reference, here's my natural hair texture:

And with keratin:

This company should pay me, as much as I promote the product. But for curly-haired gals who live in humid climates, it can definitely open your hairstyle options.

I am so excited about these shoes I just bought them for myself! I know they aren't that cute but I have always wondered why these type of dress shoes were usually only a man's style. YAY!! Happy Birthday to me!! I think GH Bass is about my favorite brand of shoe...I am now an old lady.

thanks for the hair advice guys! I'm probably not going to spend the $Texas on a keratin treatment, (although those results are amazing!!) so it sounds like maybe my best option is to go super short. I've had that in the past so it's not scary for me Here's a pic from 07 when I was super short, and another one from later that's grown out more.

also I'm in the Navy so my hair has to either be shorter than my collar, or long enough to put up in a braid or bun.

^ I like both of those cuts, Nerdchick. The first is pretty fun, as you could add gel and spike it a bit.

But the longer version is prob a bit more versatile. Here's a similar cut that would look good on you, IMO (Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland):

Really, Sonali? Well bc you like the brand, I feel a little more like part of the girl team. I have always had a pair of Bass shoes throughout my life since I was little. The only pumps I have are from them because of the comfort. I think their style suits me bc I am not the girliest girl in the bunch.

well the industry keeps talking about tailored shoes being in next fall season but we as a company haven't done very well with styles like that but they want to test bass in a few stores and they are doing a new line that have a bit more feminine touches than normal

As in I think I'll probably end up getting 3 of them....haha

The second white one....the first black one....and the last tan one...

I have to match...I can't wear black with brown...ect....

It's a psychological thing with me

it also has a hot pink lining and a ZIPPER- i learned how to do zippers

im excited, just wanted to share!

ive been thinking of making some videos of how to sew the stuff i know how to sew. not only for my own reference (its hard for me to remember all the steps and the directions they come with might as well be in a foreign language) but there doesnt seem to be any good instructional sewing videos out there

so this weekend I felt like the bargain shopping queen

at Banana Republic I got these for $15 (originally $80)

then at Ann Taylor LOFT I got this awesome black and pink skirt for $3 (originally $80 as well)

but for a total of $41 at LOFT I got that skirt, a cardigan, a pair of dress pants, and two shirts

got some other great bargains at the Gap outlet too

i got a couple dress shirts from loft and i noticed they all shrunk a lot. i remember someone else posting about quality at the loft going down, this is the first i've experienced

i need dress pants that fit me. i've tried almost everything, i'm ready to alter what i have (the waist fits but the legs are soooo baggy)

^^ i know you said you've tried everything but have you tried banana republic? their pants used to fit me well. plus they vanity size like whoa so i always need an itty bitty size there which makes me feel A+++ awesome

recently i've been finding really great stuff at places like belk and macy's though...in the women's dept (or whatever...honestly, i don't understand departments stores). they have awesome sales and there are usually coupons to be found for both stores. they carry brands like CK and stuff in addition to like...random ass brands you've never heard of. and they (sometimes) have free (or at least cheap) altering. so maybe check there? it sucks and you have to get past a LOT of ugly shit, but there are good finds to be had in dept stores re: dress / business wear.

DO IT! I like the dress, it looks like the bust is really low but I think the model is just tall.

PS ... if I get jeans tailored, should I do it after a wash or while the jeans are still stretched out? sorry if it's a dumb question, I've never done it before! I got some awesome J. Crew jeans at the thrift store, but I had the classic problem ... to fit my hips/thighs, the jeans are too big in the waist.

i usually get my jeans tailored after i've washed them. in my head it made sense to get them done at their smallest that way i wouldn't get too much taken in or cut off (i usually have to do mine in length) and then have them not fit after washing. but now that you've asked, i'm curious as to what other people do...

So this is for all you Vampire Diaries fans out there. (and also fans of cosmetics with natural ingredients.)

One of the funds I work with is PeaceKeeper Cause-metics, and they are partnering up with Ian Somerhalder, "Damon" and his foundation http://www.isfoundation.com/ to raise money for environmental and human rights issues with a big Valentine's Day Auction.

http://www.iamapeacekeeper.com/charityauction.htm?

Quote :
"
The largest donor to the Valentine's Day Charity Auction will win a juicy IS Foundation Gift Basket, which includes:
--An official personal message from Ian to YOU
--Official IS Foundation t-shirt, gym bag, cap, and oh-so-sexy boyshort undies
--An invitation to a VIP tour for two at Mystic Falls, Atlanta, where Ian's hit TV show The Vampire Diaries is filmed (transportation not included).

The 20 largest donors after the winner will receive a PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics Gift Basket (valued at $100.00) which contains our award-winning lipstick, gloss, nail polish and lip balms. In a tie, winners will be chosen by date and time on a first-come, first-win basis. "

PEACEKEEPER CAUSE-METICS works with women and their families who live at the base of the economic pyramid to empower them through a connection to organic farming and environmental activism.
