Are you asking me? I wasn't talking about that, or about you. I'm talking about the Lebron-haters. But no.
6/20/2018 1:15:30 PM
It's a terrible trade, but it's also the Hornets so it's expected at this point.
6/20/2018 1:22:14 PM
So we're not taking the money this upcoming year, which is cool, but we are in 2019 which is when we'd need to pay kemba.. so I'm guessing the tank is coming in 2019? Maybe trade Kemba for a pick? Try and win it all this year?[Edited on June 20, 2018 at 3:38 PM. Reason : "we" I barely like any basketball]

Clearly MJ is just making space for Lebron since Curry will be joining him once his contract expires with the Ws

Grayson Allen probably

6/21/2018 8:38:56 PM
LOL trading it to the clippers
6/21/2018 8:42:53 PM
Unless Porter’s back is totally fucked, i would prefer to see the hornets take the risk and draft him. Gotta roll the dice at some point. Hornets got a good stock of 2nd round picks in the future though.
6/21/2018 9:05:07 PM
I think Porter's injury history is pretty significant, I wouldn't draft him in the lottery. He cancelled workouts because of a hip injury and then claimed the media exaggerated it. Also I think Bridges is a solid addition to the ranks of bad hornets draft picks.
6/21/2018 9:17:34 PM
Bucks made sure to draft a white dude, at the request of the Milwaukee PD
6/21/2018 9:22:36 PM
Porter Jr had the same back surgery that Tiger and Kerr had. I understand passing on him, seems destined to be another Greg Oden.
6/22/2018 8:13:32 AM
What were the Hawks thinking with the Mavericks deal? I just don't see how anyone who has actually watched Luka Doncic play could not draft him given the chance.I get it. He's white and European. But, you're talking about a kid that's 19 years old and has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in European and International play. He's been playing with adult, professional players since he was 16, in leagues that would absolutely crush any NCAA team.Imagine if the NCAA were twice as good, and the star player of the previous year NCAA championship didn't get drafted first pick. That's what this looks like to me.
6/25/2018 11:23:04 AM
Where's LeBron going? Is nobody speculating because LA is the obvious choice?http://deadsp.in/WjVT1oI
7/1/2018 1:51:56 AM
They need to start free agency before the draft
7/1/2018 1:58:45 AM
^^yes. They're really the only team that makes any sense (besides staying in Cleveland, but that seems extremely unlikely because the Lakers + LeBron will be better than the Cavs + LeBron.)Philadelphia has never made any sense from a basketball perspective and Houston was essentially eliminated when he opted out of his contract. At this point it would be a monumental surprise if he didn't sign with the Lakers.
7/1/2018 7:01:23 AM
With how things have played out nothing has happened that would make it appear any team got closer to challenging the warriors. Rockets got further losing Ariza. The math in the NBA is broken to create a team to beat the Warriors. Feel like all the players just said screw it we aren’t beating them let’s just all go get paid, which is fine but makes next year pretty boring. There is nothing LeBron can do to get to a title contending team. Houston or Celtics I think were best chances. LA isn’t beating the Warriors with LeBron and that roster. Cleveland will lose in playoffs to Celtics.
7/1/2018 7:34:55 AM
it’s possible that the Lakers can add Lebron, Kawhi, and Paul Georgethat team is absolutely a championship caliber team[Edited on July 1, 2018 at 9:02 AM. Reason : I obviously hadn’t seen the news before this post. that was unexpected. ]
7/1/2018 8:58:22 AM
PG re-signing with the thunder was absolutely not unexpected. All the signs from the last few weeks had all pointed to that.
7/1/2018 9:07:36 AM
LA could make a run with boogie, lebron, kawhi and kemba. They'd have to trade all their assets, but they could fill out the roster with veterans like a bunch of previous lebron teams.[Edited on July 1, 2018 at 9:29 AM. Reason : .]
7/1/2018 9:28:42 AM
7/1/2018 9:31:24 AM
PG is happy with 34 mil per year instead of getting a ring
7/1/2018 11:47:03 AM
^^^ the math doesn’t work to put that team together unless guys take pay cuts and they aren’t.Why maybe the 76ers are a chance but just banking a lot on young guys on rookie contracts staying healthy and improving.Otherwise with how this is playing out it clearly looks to me like all the players are realizing they can’t best the Warriors so just get paid.
7/1/2018 2:18:39 PM
I know the conventional wisdom is that Philly and Lebron are a bad match, but clearly, he doesn't think so if he's having his reps meet with them. There must be some potential he sees there from a basketball perspective. I admit that there are some possible stumbling blocks there w.r.t. SImmons, but overall I think it would be a powerful team. It's a team with a great coach and great BBIQ.A lot of the speculation now is assuming that Kawhi and Lebron go to the same team. Any team is going to be good with those two, almost regardless of what garbage roster they bring. What is the argument that LA can do more for him than Philly? I don't see one.
7/1/2018 3:09:50 PM
The 76ers are a terrible match because they have 2 guards (Simmons and Fultz) who can't shoot and are best with the ball in their hands. Adding a 3rd ball dominant non-shooter (even if it is the best player in the NBA) is a recipe for disaster. You'd essentially be forcing Embiid to become Miami Chris Bosh in order to have even a tiny bit of space for the other guys to work. LeBron needs shooters around him. While that possible 76ers lineup would be insanely scary defensively, it would probably struggle on offense as teams would just say off shooters and clog the lane. Simmons + LeBron is not a recipe for offensive success.
7/1/2018 3:52:37 PM
Update: LeBron to Lakers. That was unexpected. ]
7/1/2018 8:16:22 PM

7/1/2018 8:21:02 PM
only the incredibly stupid ones
7/1/2018 8:29:01 PM
I'm just waiting for another comic sans letter. Also I think this means Leonard doesn't end up in LA this year, unless LA just throws absolutely everything at the Spurs. I'd imagine Leonard ends up in the eastern conference next season, probably in Philadelphia but maybe Boston.
7/1/2018 8:33:24 PM
He brought a title to 'The Land', who hadn't seen in a title in a relevant sport since the 1960's. They should be grateful.
7/1/2018 8:33:33 PM
Spurs are gonna end up with Ball, Ingram, and Kuzma
7/1/2018 8:37:41 PM
IT and LeBron get to team up again?
7/1/2018 8:39:00 PM
^^Spurs made it clear they have no interest in ball. Also his knee injury will keep him from getting traded.
7/1/2018 8:46:04 PM
or that could have been a smoke screenthat injury isn’t serious enough to keep him from being traded, especially if Lebron doesn’t want to play with him. that’s the biggest factor.
7/1/2018 8:53:53 PM
I don't think it's a smokescreen that they don't want Ball. He's probably the most polarizing player (skillwise) to come into the NBA in a long time. That plus the baggage that comes along with him in the form of his father/brothers is more than enough to believe that the Spurs have no desire to trade for him.I think they'd take less to ship Leonard east, which is why it'd take a massive haul for the Lakers to land him. A haul which would not include Ball.LOL at LeBron not wanting to play with him being the biggest factor. The biggest factor is who the Spurs want. The Lakers will basically have to give them whatever they ask for or the Spurs won't trade Kawhi to them. They probably won't anyways.]
7/1/2018 9:01:42 PM
The Lakers can wait on Kawhi another year. They'll still be able to be plenty competitive without him this year. Maybe not a contender, but a playoff team, definitely. Los Angeles as a destination and the legacy of the Lakers still continues to be a draw. This isn't a Kobe situation where they couldn't land FAs because people didn't want to play with Kobe. Add the chance to play with LeBron, I'm sure there will be other quality FAs that will jump at the chance to head west.Honestly, I'd take a chance on Boogie Cousins and see how that achilles injury holds up. A lineup of Cousins, LeBron, Ball, Randle, Ingram with Kuzma as a 6th looks good on paper. They'd be a taller team top to bottom and have enough youth that LeBron could play reduced minutes to help the younger pups get some run. [Edited on July 1, 2018 at 9:22 PM. Reason : .]

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2018/7/1/17523810/nba-free-agent-rumors-julius-rande-la-lakers-magic-johnson-paul-george-lebron-jamesAlso, the Lakers just re-signed KCP on a 1 year/$12 million deal, so they don't have the cap room to sign Cousins unless they renounce Randle and stretch Deng.
7/1/2018 9:39:09 PM
so lebron finally goes out west, he's not going to get that eastern conference bump to his legacy any morealso for those worried about a warriors cakewalk, let's not forget how loaded boston could be next year
7/1/2018 9:42:25 PM
Jordan never played out west!!1

Can't blame Paul George for taking all that money with less pressure and expectations than if he teamed up with Lebron. Maybe not everyone wants to play with Lebron? Maybe Westbrook isn't so bad? Maybe he just likes money.[Edited on July 1, 2018 at 11:15 PM. Reason : I hope McGee dies of an asthma attack ]

The Lakers don't HAVE to have him right now. They can wait.
7/1/2018 11:24:53 PM
Depends how you look at it. Yes, the Spurs have the incentive to get something for Kawhi before he walks. And if the Lakers decide to wait, they could get him in FA and the bad contracts become less radioactive and you can deal with those next year. It sounds sensible to not blow through whatever assets they have on an 8-ball of Kawhi and less impressive minor deals just to put a contender together.but you know they are going to go for it year 1, lebrons not gonna wait.and i think its probably the right move to overpay now if they have to, lebron's 33 and i dont think you can justify letting a year of the window slip by[Edited on July 1, 2018 at 11:28 PM.
