Any pro-am highlights?? Someone posted on Pack Pride that they saw highlights of Cat Barber and Kyle Washington looking really good. Can't find them anywhere.

TBDV actually does not look as fat as normal in that pic and Anya's calves are the size of most people's thighs...[Edited on July 10, 2013 at 3:37 PM. Reason : gg]

Beijing Ducks is training at gym of Stanford U. Next time I'll let them come to State. Yes!
7/10/2013 4:04:36 PM
As long as Anya fucks Meeks' shit up I'm good with everything else...
7/10/2013 4:08:16 PM
Anya gets a year to play behind and learn from TBDV. He'll be fine.
7/10/2013 5:21:28 PM
I still can't comprehend in this era how a kid like Anya can show up so fat. Nowadays even kids playing middle school hoops/football are forced to train all year and are all cut up.[Edited on July 10, 2013 at 5:43 PM. Reason : :]

The pro-am is about 1/2 the difficulty of ACC play, so don't be shocked when Lewis averages 25-26 ppg next year.
7/10/2013 10:24:47 PM
lolGod bless the pro-am and all the comical summer optimism provided
7/10/2013 10:31:46 PM
Where's the pro-am game?
7/10/2013 10:32:15 PM
London.
7/10/2013 10:48:26 PM
there's no reason not to be optimistic about tyler lewis. that dude can ball, he didn't hesitate to show it last year.
7/10/2013 11:59:33 PM
Dorks on Pack Pride are convinced that Cat Barber will relegate Lewis to the bench early in the year, and that Gottfried should prevent dischord by branding Barber the starter from day 1.Same clowns that were comparing Purvis to Dwyane Wade around this time last year...
7/11/2013 12:10:59 AM
oh shit i forgot about Lewis.man we're going to be decent.
7/11/2013 1:07:34 AM
dunno why PP posters would say Barber will supplant Lewisaren't we the most OPENLY racist fanbase in the country by far?
7/11/2013 1:49:53 AM
Barber will be special...Lewis will only get better in his career here.It will an interesting dynamic with both of those guys.If Lewis could learn to play defense I'd say he starts all year...but kid really needs to study defense and work on it from now till...infinity. Anya could stand to lose a few pounds and good Lord...Washington may be the tallest kid on the team come Winter.I think the Lewis/Cat dynamic plays out depending on the style of play the opposition is utilizing.

I still find it funny because we've had 0 depth over the past several years people now freak out when we have two good players at the same position, as if there is no way the two can work/play together and anytime it happens it becomes Thunder Dome and one must go.If we are going to be any type of good/competitive program than we should have 2 great players at certain positions from time to time. They can be on the court at times together or rotate. The key is that the recruiting tune needs to change from "come to NC State, we suck and have no depth so you'll play right away!" to "come in, be a part of a winning program, learn, develop, and help us win." That way guys have the right expectations coming in. If we actually play 8-9 guys this next season it is going to feel like we are rotating through 15 players after so many years of 6-7 man rotations.

Stop talking about a guy who has never played a college game beating out a guy who outplayed one of the best point guards in the nation in the only game he really got a full chance to run the show. Lewis was a better point guard than brown last year. Brown was only super great when he could get out in transition. Other than that, he was just good. Lewis actually knows how to be a pass first point guard, run actual offense, create shots for others (damn where is scott wood when you need him) and unlike most true point guards, lewis has a really good scoring ability and is super crafty with the mid range shots. Teams will have to pick their poison with him. Also defense is a team thing. Yes its super great when your point guard can fucking destroy guys one on one but all he has to do is challenge and rely on help. If we can't help again, we won't win a lot of games anyway because the other team will score too much like last year. Gottfried has a bad reputation for teaching help defense too. Alabama did poorly with defensive freaks because they couldnt help, rotate and boxout. Thats the most important thing in basketball.

I don't care if he was playing in a church league game...I still wish I could see video of Lewis almost dropping 50. I'm going to guess he's been working on his three ball in the offseason...which will be awesome. If he can hit the open three, it will be a HUGE boost to our offense.
7/11/2013 2:05:16 PM
^ careful. i thought the same thing about zo last year... turns out, not so much.
7/11/2013 2:44:04 PM
lewis hit open threes this past year.

Props to Lewis' passing last year. He nearly brought the RBC roof down on multiple occasions after some Harlem Globetrotter shit. He's just fun to watch and I look forward to him being the starter this year. It's been cool seeing the some of the team around Caldwell and Poe Halls this week. Everybody lookin hungry. And I for one don't think we're gonna be as bad as predicted. Top 6 in the ACC and making it into the NCAA tourney is what I'm hoping for. Reading a recap in the Technician today of Gott's presser last week is a little puzzling. I read about it before but just remembered to comment on it after re-reading today. I just think he's trying to keep expectations way low to keep the haters at bay personally.
7/11/2013 4:07:06 PM
i think he's done that every year
7/11/2013 4:14:43 PM
Gonna be tough to finish above .500 in the acc this year. Expectations are just way too high right now unless lee is a stud. We lost howell and wood and no one to replace them. We can replace brown adequately and Leslie and purvis gave us nothing but those other two are big gaps
7/11/2013 5:58:05 PM
7/11/2013 6:56:34 PM
He didn't last year. Below average player on both ends. Just look at his offensive numbers for gods sake
7/11/2013 7:11:01 PM
7/11/2013 7:13:57 PM
i don't see us finishing below .500 in conference play this year unless, god forbid, Jevoni tears and ACL or something
7/11/2013 7:16:26 PM
i forgot, is it pronounced like JeBROni (long o) or Giavani (short o)?
