Awesome win last night. Can't let the shitty Marlins break Medlen's streak. 8 games to go to make up 4 games on the Nats ain't happening so hopefully the Braves will just get ready to play in the worst idea ever - 1 game playoff series.

Seriously it took the Braves 154 games to clinch their spot in the postseason and it'll come down to one shitty game against a team that will be 5-6 games behind them in the standings for the right to make the real playoffs. Fuck that. Eat a dick and die Selig.

So it's looking like we would be matched up against the Cardinals for the wild card game. That scares me a little bit.

If their rotation played out like ours it would look to be a Medlin v. Garcia match up. Or would they skew things to put Wainwright or even Carpenter on the mound? Lohse has their best record as well. Something about this team scares me

Yes, I agree, but let's get some damn revenge for last year. We are definitely a better team, but one game is basically a coin flip. I love the braves chances though, as well as they have played this month and kris medlin on the mound and it's at home. Plus the bullpen is amazing and the offense is solid enough

I don't mind the idea of an additional wild card, but I hate the idea of a 1 game series. Just like I hate the 5 game division series. The season is too fucking long to be decided these short series in my opinion. Baseball needs to shorten the season and extend the playoffs.

The Cards are playoff tested, but I like the Braves in that 1 game play-in if they throw Hudson or Medlen. The Cards weakness is their pen and I think the Braves can get that game into bullpen battle.

I like the Braves over the Cards in one-game playoff 99 times out of 100.

Medlen is almost guaranteed to give 6 or 7 good innings and the bullpen is unhittable at this point.

I'd like to see Kimbrel start a game at some point in the future. If his stamina could hold up, I think his line would be something like:

As for the playoffs, the 2nd wild card has actually detracted from the playoff chase this year. Imagine the Os and As fighting for that last spot if the 2nd WC spot was not available. Also zero suspense in the NL this year regardless of if we were still at 1 WC or 2.

The Cardinals struggle against righties and the Braves are actually very good against righties so that helps us as well in the 1 game bullshit playing 1 game shitty idea, play 1 game to make the playoffs game series 1 game series.

Yeah, goes down as a strikeout with a 1 base error on a passed ball. Not sure how else you would rule that. Running to first after a strikeout is strange to begin with. I wonder why that's in the rules.
