I feel we need to adjust the player speed differential. I'm playing off-line dynasty with it set to 40 which seems to slow down the defense an appropriate amt. No being chased down by dts

pass rush is a major part of football. if qbs could hit open wrs everytime they saw them, scores would be in the hundreds every game. thats why chuck's defense worked so well. you should not have a lot of time to throw. if defense was any slower it would turn into a shootout every game.

Passing just comes down to decision making just like in real life. you have 3 seconds to read the pass rush, recognize the coverage and infer whats going to happen with the wrs routes that should already be in the back of your mind. if you are watching the wrs to see if they will come open, then you risk getting sacked. just like in real life. If you are uncertain or nobody is open you just have to eat the football.

Pre snap: see if they are showing blitz, man or zone.
Right after snap: see if they are jamming or pressing the short routes.

It its zone 2 deep the the middle can get open. if its 3 deep then its even tougher. if its one deep then you have to look for an out or a corner. WATCH THE SAFETIES AT THE SNAP.

if its a zone blitz then the side the blitz came from will be open.

PASS ON RUN DOWNS, RUN ON PASS DOWNS. if the person knows you are passing, its a lot tougher to pass. if they think you are running, things will be open but you will have less time.

you have to play smart this year which is great. you have to setup the defense for differing plays.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the slowest developing up-the-middle sack I've ever seen and that I absolutely could not get the ball out of Manuel's hands.

I don't have a problem at all with the pass rush. Even in that game where I was hounded the entire time, I think I was only sacked twice. And I like that it there's a bit of a wind up now. But online it's a killer.

Is anyone else down with Halo's sunday wednesday deal?

Clemson is vastly overrated in this game altogether. Their defense is rated really really fast. They are an elite team in this game.

In real life, 3 seconds is all you can consistently get with a good team if the defense is pinning their ears back. 3 man rush can be harder to block. If they have 3 linemen getting to you, then you obviously need to be running the ball.

You guys know this because ncstate was giving teams like 2 seconds to throw on 3rd down last year with the blitz and several years back with our nfl dline alone.

^^no because you are on my schedule but you should really just go to by play type, pass, quick routes to fix your "getting the ball off" problem. Every problem has a solution. Every adjustment has a killer. This is just a giant game of chess and if your opponent is making the right moves, then the game will seem like bullshit. There could be one small thing you dont adjust cause you to get blown out where if you made that one small adjustment, you would've won. The game is drastic like that.

With all due respect to my opponent, who played a very good game and obviously bested me, he didn't do much strategy-wise to beat me. For the most part, my offense was rolling and it was because I was countering his every move. I got beat because my AI players couldn't tackle anything and his defensive players were playing like superhumans. The issues that caused me to lose the game were almost entirely the fault of the game itself: the lag, the crazy defensive AI and the absence of a speed difference between what should be fast players and what should be slow players.

Give me an even playing field and I don't think I would have lost the game.

The more I post about it, the more it sounds like sour grapes. But I'm just airing out the issues that make this game not very fun, especially online. Everyone is up against this crap, but I haven't seen it all come together yet like it did today.

And you can stop with the Bill Walsh reading the defense shit. We all know how to play football, we all know how to play NCAA. You aren't impressing anyone with some shit you read on the internet.

We are playing on all american.. you can't rely on ai to do anything especially against a good team like clemson with what appears to be a good player controlling them. The only reason the computer gives any resistance is because they have omnipotent play calling.

That is one of your (you or him) faults and something both players play in. I also would bet theres a correlation between lag and game freezes. try mixing it up with turning the other pcs off during the match and maybe even a direct connection

Its all about acceleration. speed rating is top speed and accel is start stop. theres also elu and agi. Lots of different types of speed. Defenders already running at full speed can catch you if you change directions.

Lag only got me when I had to call a timeout late in the game because the hot route controls weren't responding fast enough. Mostly I was complaining about the QB wind up.

None of that is relevant. Slow players are catching fast players because of the speed differential setting. I play at 0 in my offline dynasty and it's great.

Well winning the first championship game will make recruiting better and by a 2nd season I will have sewn up major flaws on the team.

Its not about him gaining an unfair strategy. That could never happen. Its about me exposing him and helping him get better. Playing against me would be like lifting weights mentally. I just don't want to create a monster by making him good right before I play him.
