so yeah anybody excited about tonight's episode? It's getting kind of fun hating on this show

I would like to think that Superman, infected with the Zombie disease after having been bit under the influence of kryptonite, would not be able to cure himself. When he was in the presence of the sun though, ie day time, he would be able to fight the disease and remain his normal self. However, once in the dark he would revert into a zombie. This means that Superman is forever plagued to travel around the Earth constantly ensuring he is never in the dark.Reverse Vampirish Zombie Superman.I'd buy that for a dollar.

He has kryptonite and gadgets
10/23/2011 10:39:21 AM
10/23/2011 10:40:53 AM
What characters do you like?
10/23/2011 10:49:21 AM
I was wondering the same.
10/23/2011 11:01:27 AM
The zombies.
10/23/2011 12:32:14 PM
I highly doubt a virus that'll affect humans will affect an alien from another planet... even if he was under the influence of kryptonite.
10/23/2011 5:08:46 PM
looks like next week will FINALLY have some action...
10/23/2011 10:00:41 PM
tonight's episode was full of fail
10/24/2011 12:41:06 AM
I thought this show was about zombies.
10/24/2011 12:44:20 AM
please... its about superman, batman, vampires and teen romances... lol
10/24/2011 12:53:15 AM
^^^^ How much action does it need? I think once you're out in rural parts of the US, you could go quite some time without encountering a zombie. That wouldn't be great for tv, but one episode without a major attack isn't a big deal to me. The season opener had a herd (which included a kill), 2 solo kills from Rick, Rick and Darryl killed one in the woods, then there were 3 in the church. That's 7 kills, assuming I didn't miss any, in about 60 minutes of show (1/8.6 minutes). This episode had one (which wasn't necessary) and led into a situation where there's going to be plenty. The Walking Dead doesn't advertise as Dead Snow, X of the Dead, etc. aka spoon-fed, typical, zombie genre fodder. That stuff has it's place, but how interesting would that be as a series? The show hasn't done much by way of character development, it's tough to do that if they're constantly fighting zombies. so they took a break and tried to focus on the characters some. That's more than alright in my book, since it's more important in the long run. I just hope they don't get into this shitty habit that some shows do of "action episode", "character episode", action episode... repeat.

Carl needs to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
10/24/2011 8:06:23 AM
^ Which is disappointing since in the comics he was (until recently) sort of the "rock" of the whole group of survivors.
10/24/2011 9:22:57 AM
A 10 year old kid was "the rock" in a group of survivors that includes two sheriff deputies???And you people are criticizing the show for being unrealistic. lol.
10/24/2011 9:57:24 AM
It wasn't so much that he was the rock and more that he was one of few characters whose issues were such that he could still function. The biggest problem with Carl is that he was a kid that due to the apocalypse has to grow up quickly; because of this, there was little that was very kid-like about him, which I always found to be sort of understandable given circumstances. When Shane opens up the police car to get the flares, I thought for sure he was going to trigger the siren or alarm to cause a distraction/decoy.[Edited on October 24, 2011 at 10:34 AM. Reason : ;]
10/24/2011 10:34:14 AM
I would think that Shane and Otis, having lived this long through the zombie apocalypse, would have been better at planning this kind of thing and had some kind of backup plan. One of them should have driven the truck nearby and made a lot of noise to lure all the zombies away then drive slowly to keep them in pursuit. While the zombies are following for like a mile out, the other could go get all the supplies. By the time the truck gets back the zombies would be far enough away that they could load up and move out. But I guess that wouldn't make for good drama.
10/24/2011 10:41:30 AM
maybe i am not up on zombies as much as i should be but why could Shane and Otis not jump in the military humvee and just start plowing into the zombies and run them over? or even like a tractor trailer rig for that matter found abandoned somewhere? wouldn't the shear weight and force of impact of these vehicles do enough?
10/24/2011 10:51:05 AM
I've always wondered about humvees too. There were some outside the hospital where Rick woke up, they were around the CDC, now at the school. Why wouldn't they trade in their rickety SUV's for a more substantial vehicle? I just started watching this series from the beginning a couple weeks ago, from S1E1, so the first season is fresh in my mind. It's been bugging me that we saw two guys in episode 2 wearing riot gear type suits when Glenn was rescuing Rick. What happened to those? Why didn't they continue wearing them for bite/scratch protection?
10/24/2011 10:58:34 AM
I think the general argument against that is that it would be like driving through a mob of people. Eventually, the sheer numbers/lack of traction cause a loss of momentum in which case you're trapped inside the vehicle. For individuals stuff like that should work though I guess there's always the threat that they could damage something under the hood by going through the grill.
10/24/2011 11:33:50 AM
^^The military humvees that were around were probably either out of gas or had a dead battery. Any vehicle that has been idle for ~month will have a dead battery and with all those zombies around they couldn't risk trying to fix one up. I was thinking they could try running them over but in this case there were probably just too many of them. Unless they somehow hit the zombie on the head with the vehicle, the zombies would probably just get up again or start crawling. So they are trapped behind that chain link, what do you guys think about just setting some of the zombies on fire? If it spreads to the rest of the zombies they should be able to just sit tight behind the barrier for a few mins and all the zombies should be burnt up.
10/24/2011 11:33:55 AM
and what do you suggest they use to light them on fire with?
10/24/2011 1:21:10 PM
I'm sure Shane grabbed a few extra flares.
10/24/2011 1:47:06 PM
They're still doing that thing where they tell instead of show. The scene between Dale and T-Dog was brutal: You need medicine. There's all these cars around here. I bet some of them have medicine. Let's look for the medicine. Okay, time to look for medicine. Also, I think there should be some legitimate emotion in some of these scenes, like with Rick and Lori, considering their very recent history, but there's got to be another way besides having characters embrace and cry as sappy music plays in the background.Lots of other stuff to criticize, but I'm still totally watching though![Edited on October 24, 2011 at 2:32 PM. Reason : Overall, it's way too heavy handed...treats us like we're kinda stupid.]
10/24/2011 2:30:40 PM
They're obviously setting up the love triangle with Rick, Shane, and Lori. That scene with Rick/Shane was ~
10/24/2011 2:39:46 PM
Yes, and I kinda wish Lori could openly get with both of them for at least a little while. And, for a little while, I thought Shane was going to leave Rick/Carl with the vet guy and go back to the group, pretending Rick/Carl had died.
10/24/2011 2:46:45 PM
Aye, a road flare. Or a lighter. I would think that something like a lighter would be a common thing to take with you on any zombie infested outing.
10/24/2011 2:50:06 PM
10/24/2011 3:51:08 PM
yeah, i didn't really get why they stopped. I guess they were tired, but it's not going to be long before the bolt comes out.I don't really get why they didn't keep going through the school immediately to look for a way out. I was also thinking they should start shooting the zombies at the front (up against the fence) to create a bit of a barrier for the other zombies. Shoot one with its arm through the fence and it will be tougher to open the fence even if the bolt comes out.
10/24/2011 4:52:04 PM
Oh I guess I misinterpreted. When they went into the door I thought that there was another barricade that they for some reason were unable to get past. I figured that's why they stopped and that they were essentially trapped between the zombies on one side and a barricade on the other.
10/24/2011 4:58:04 PM
well i would think they don't want to use ammo unless it is absolutely necessary. like zombie on your face necessary.also, the scene with the woman riding in on the horse to save the day was ridiculous. this chick has close calls all the time, but nothing happens. surely she would have been a zombie feast by now.
10/24/2011 4:58:17 PM
wasn't Otis really skinny in the comic?I thought for sure they fattened Otis up so he'd get winded and eaten from all the running
10/24/2011 5:15:03 PM
^^^ oh, maybe that's the case and I didn't catch it.^^ agreed... but they're in the shit right now, that bolt isn't holding. It'd be more about keeping the dozens out than killing the couple. I'd strategically take a few out and leave them hanging in that fence so it can't be opened until they're moved. That would be worth a few bullets to me. You can't let worrying about ammo for tomorrow get in the way of surviving today, right?^ It was a little tough to buy Otis getting away. They were moving pretty fast... he was not.[Edited on October 24, 2011 at 5:31 PM. Reason : .]

didn't shane use two shells to break down two glass doors at the end to gain entrance to the school? Seems like one too many shells...Well, first two episodes were boring as hell...
10/24/2011 6:51:42 PM
Andrea is a pretty awful actress. Some of her lines were so poorly delivered. I continue to hate these people and am now watching to have the gratification of them being killed
10/24/2011 7:11:35 PM
Haha, this show is great
10/24/2011 7:34:00 PM
yep the little boy and the short haired chick are fucking horrible actors
10/24/2011 8:29:06 PM
10/24/2011 8:36:19 PM
^^AHA, when Carl got shot, my reaction was "Thank God." And now they're gonna save him... Kill the kid, people...we can take it!

i wonder how often they brush their teethShane was all up in Rick's grill with the ~ pep-talk. could have been some nasty smells emitted.
10/25/2011 1:10:45 AM
I imagine they've all encountered worse smells.
10/25/2011 4:36:47 AM
there isn't no goddamned love triangleshe was porking shane when she thought rick was dead, because shane told her he was deadnow she wants nothing to do with shane, yo[Edited on October 25, 2011 at 8:01 AM. Reason : keep up guys]

the love triangle is Rick and Shane are now realizing they're in love, keep up guy

that scene where they gutted the zombie to check its stomach contents was like the grossest thing ever ]
10/25/2011 8:51:19 AM
so far this season is better than most of last season in my opinion.
