10/31/2009 5:02:25 PM
why cant we play ECU this year, we can still beat shitty teams
10/31/2009 5:02:41 PM
Jimmy V would give up on this team
10/31/2009 5:09:18 PM
I'm ready for basketball season. The bball team sucks, the press knows we suck, the fans know we suck, other teams know we suck, and I know we suck. Absolutely zero expectations. Can actually enjoy the season.
10/31/2009 5:34:31 PM
monday night's TOB radio show should be interesting
10/31/2009 5:46:03 PM
^^^^No, we can't
10/31/2009 5:47:20 PM
the basic premise that p riv puts up great numbers and his squad still manages to lose is solid

actually, i do fingerpaint, if anybody was wondering.and for clarification, that original statement was supposed to read "clock management in the 2nd half was fine." i just caught my error.but to blame this game (or this season) on poor clock management is fantastically stupid. both teams put up over 40 points. the wheels are falling off and some of you want to complain about the upholstery? how dense do you have to be to not see the glaring problem of this team? we have not allowed any less than 30 points a game since our game against pitt. tom o'brien could have frozen time completely, and we still would have lost. clock management is not the reason why we lost. giving up 45 points is why we lost. to see anything else as the problem is gloriously retarded.[Edited on October 31, 2009 at 7:05 PM. since acc play we are giving up an average of 42 points per game
10/31/2009 7:12:19 PM

- ncsu sucks at bball, this will not change, just give it to unc and duke, bball sucks anyway- with the money we spend, we shouldn't be last in the conference- we do not deserve to be undefeated 80% of the time- we deserve a clemson-style fate (if not better). a larger fan base committed way more to football and is unwilling to accept shit play. Clemson is arguably the best team in the conference and we are unarguably the worst. - i think expectations on a clemson level are not being pretentious nor unrealistic. our current situation is not going anywhere, nor do i see it improving in 2-3 years. bottom line, this team is going to suck for awhile, and once you entrench yourself as a bottom feeder, it is tough to recover. ask duke.

[already been said]it's clear from the points that we have allowed since the Pitt game that our defense suckswe can score all the points in the world, but if the other team scores as much, and we screw up with an extra turnover, then it's G.O. and we lose[/]

Fire TOB? Fire Archer? What do you people want? The pack of wolves put up many points but was outdueled by a stronger team in a game decided on the final play. You were not favored to win this game and the shoe fit as a result. It was an entertaining shootout
11/1/2009 1:24:07 PM
so you are basically saying "guys stop blaming people and being upset just b/c we suck"?fsu is one of the worst teams in the conf and you talk about how they are favored and strongeryou can say that about every game the rest of the year, so i guess we should just go ahead and forfeit all those games.
11/1/2009 1:31:26 PM
i think the point is with any kind of sub average defense, we win these games...i mean we're talking like give up a field goal instead of tds half the time

I saw RJ Mattes on Halloween, he said he tore his ACL
11/2/2009 11:06:35 AM
Yeah, looked like he was done for the season when it happened. Knees aren't supposed to bow in like his did.
11/2/2009 11:16:22 AM
I, too, tore my ACL and hate seeing knee injuries in football now. I didn't see this one because I didn't watch the game though.

Watch Justin Byers (28) half-ass his way to the receiver and pull up to avoid having to attempt a tacklehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/70948228@N00/4069607452/

I, too, saw Mattes on crutches earlier this weekHe seemed to be in good spirits at least
11/3/2009 1:08:21 PM
^^ Wow, that does look like a pile-of-shit effort. I'll admit, I don't know a ton about football, so maybe theres some reason he didn't go hard as he could to wrap that guy up, but I just don't get it. If I were playing in a game, I would put every ounce I had into plowing through and down on a guy every play. I would get worse as the game went on because of fatigue, getting tired, whatever... but I would still bust my fucking ass.I manage on a couple non-competitive P&R league teams, and even on those teams, I just don't understand/accept a lack of hustle. It's infuriating.
11/3/2009 1:38:52 PM
Best I can think of is that he was playing corner on the other side of the field and was trying to keep contain on the play because he's supposed to be the last guy to that play, but without knowing the defense that was called or his responsibilities it's hard to say. I'm gonna guess that most of the defensive players know they've been getting scored on with a regularity and are a little shell-shocked over it. As a result we see a lot of players overthinking on the field.I'm also gonna guess that he probably feels like he could have played that one a better.I'm further gonna guess that a bunch of people see this play and will go forward thinking that's how he plays every play every time.
