Haha got Manningham and Johnny Knox in the first come, first serve league.

I think Manningham is a serious contender to be the Giants #1 the rest of the year. With the injuries and no one stepping up, I really think Manningham and Smith will get a lot of looks. I don't think 10 receptions per week will be kept up, but I could see him being a solid #2 WR. He's scored twice in 2 games, so it's apparently Manning likes him.Not sure if I'm sold on Knox though.
9/22/2009 9:08:35 AM
^Agreed. Manningham IMO is emerging as a favored target of Manning, in a Giants receiving corps in which noone had distinguished themself as a clear #1 receiver. It is likely that Manning and Manningham's relationship will continue to develop as they play more together, especially with other guys out. Manningham (along with Nate Washington) will allow me insurance to put Roy Williams on the trade block for a RB2 to aid my injury-riddled RB corps.Johnny Knox is the classic potential emerging fantasy talent. While it is certainly possible he could fade back into obscurity, it is also possible he emerges as a favorite target for Cutler and a servicable flex or backup WR option. It's generally not going to hurt you to take a flyer on guys in the last roster spot. It's not like a cut a starter to take him...you probably mocked the guy who picked up Colston after game 1 his rookie season.[Edited on September 22, 2009 at 9:23 AM. Reason : .]
9/22/2009 9:20:34 AM
I still say Knox is 3rd behind Hester and BennettEven with Cutler, a 3rd WR on that team is only fantasy worthy for the long term in deep leagues
9/22/2009 9:30:21 AM
agreed

Trade AdviceGET:PortisWelkerLOSE:MJD*I need WR help*Current RBs other than MJD: Sproles, Rice, C. Taylor, R. Williams
9/22/2009 11:10:09 AM
I picked up Manningham yesterday because I needed another solid WR I can play the matchups with. The Giants have 3 games coming up that they should do well in, and I expect with Nicks out for another couple games, and Hixon questionable, Manningham/Smith are going to see a lot of catches.
9/22/2009 11:12:53 AM
I've been offered Steven Jackson & Brandon Marshall for Steve Slaton and Hines Ward... advice?
9/22/2009 11:37:45 AM
Take it and laugh all the way to the bank.Huge question marks around slaton right now for me....IF he stays healthy, there's the O-Line, fumbles, etc. threatening his value.S-Jax has more upside IMO....
9/22/2009 12:35:19 PM
espn's predictions have Fred Jackson as the number 1 dude this weekI really can't argue, playing New OrleansBut this will be the last week before Marshawn comes backso sell high after he blows up for 25 points
9/22/2009 1:44:57 PM

Reason : it was an auto draft so.... meh]
9/22/2009 2:02:44 PM
Maybe package Boldin and PITT for Slaton, or Forte if the owner is dumbboth are good buy low candidates
9/22/2009 2:05:02 PM
good call i'm going to be looking for something like that
9/22/2009 2:06:15 PM
Marion Barber out 1-2 weeks
9/22/2009 2:45:52 PM
sweet (got jones in both my leagues)
9/22/2009 3:05:04 PM
Damnit Barber was one of my starters, guess I can try to grab someone, but will prob just pick 2 of my other 3 =/Jonathan StewartTim HightowerAhmad BradshawPPR
9/22/2009 3:10:30 PM
^ Not stewart.
9/22/2009 4:18:25 PM
Drop Jerious Norwood for Tashard Choice off waivers?I have Michael Turner, but Norwood has been trash so far and is now injured possibly. Plus, I don't like handcuffs that much.
9/22/2009 4:22:03 PM
I say yeahInjuries are a fluke, but I say Turner is one of the least likely of the elite backs to go down, just bases on his style of running
9/22/2009 4:23:35 PM
So should I trade MJD and get Welker/Portis in return?
9/22/2009 4:40:13 PM
No.MJD is a top 3 pick.Welker will be in and out with injuries and Portis is hitting a steep decline. If it's PPR (which I imagine it is due to the intrigue of Welker), it only makes MJD more valuable.DO NOT MAKE THAT TRADE.
9/22/2009 4:45:18 PM
^What's your take on Slaton?Time to trade him for a Felix Jones or someone else?
9/22/2009 4:47:02 PM
i too like to trade a player i get w/ a top 15 pick for a later round selection 2 weeks into the season
9/22/2009 4:51:27 PM
Overall, I've said plenty of times that I don't particularly care for Slaton...but drop/trade him? Not quite yet. The litmus test will come over the next few weeks in battles against the Raiders, Arizona, Jax, etc....teams that historically give up points to dynamic RB's.He will come through for you, it's just taking him longer to warm up than we thought it would. In fact, for anyone who doesn't have Slaton, right now is a great time to start targeting him.Jags, Seahawks, Rams is looking like a REALLY nice playoff schedule for the Texans.
9/22/2009 4:51:51 PM
^ thx, that makes me feel a bit better. My first two draft picks of Portis/Slaton were starting to get me down a bit
9/22/2009 5:31:00 PM
would you guys trade MJD straight up for a wr? which ones would be worthy?I'm deep at RB and need to find a way to get some pointsstandard scoring league
9/22/2009 7:27:02 PM
who are your other RB's?
9/22/2009 7:37:22 PM
pierre thomas, marshwn lynch, Sproles
9/22/2009 7:47:33 PM
Leagues that don't put players on waivers as soon as they play are super gay. It's all about who gets to their computer first. (I exploited this the most when our league still allowed it, but I still recognize how lame it is).[Edited on September 22, 2009 at 7:55 PM. Reason : .]
9/22/2009 7:55:02 PM
^^ I wouldnt say you are deep at RB. All three of those will split carries with other backs on a frequent basis. Keep MJD...he is your best RB and a 25-30 carry a game back. See what you can get with Sproles...he has value right now and could get you a decent WR. If Schaub continues to play as well as he did against Tennessee then Slaton should start to see alot more running room and breaking 20+ yard runs. And as Panthro mentioned, the schedule is pretty favorable for Slaton for the next few weeks. If anyone needs a RB threat see if Felix Jones (DAL) is available. Barber is reportedly out 2 weeks and the cowboys have good matchups coming up against poor run defenses. [Edited on September 22, 2009 at 8:28 PM. Reason : a]
9/22/2009 8:22:29 PM
^^^yeah, you should hang on to MJD.
9/22/2009 8:54:04 PM
how do you guys feel about dropping Faulk and getting Buckhalter? Buck might be in a time share, but the pats put in 5 different backs the last game.[Edited on September 22, 2009 at 9:07 PM. Reason : edelman is also interesting]
9/22/2009 9:06:24 PM
Good idea. Faulk is the third (maybe even 4th) option in NE and Buckhalter has done well when he gets the chance. If its PPR Faulk has the better chance to catch passes.
9/22/2009 9:50:23 PM
I've got Felix Jones, but 3 other starting RB's. Need WR help bad. I've got offers for Braylon E, or Santana Moss. What does the Guru think?Did I mention I need WR help?
9/22/2009 9:58:46 PM
Are you wanting to trade a RB for WR? who are your other RBs and how many can you play at once (i.e. flex position)? RBs are far more valuable than WR and 4 is a good number to have in case of injury or bad matchups. You can usually pick up a decent WR off waivers pretty easily (Manningham, Steve Smith, Crayton, Burleson, etc).[Edited on September 22, 2009 at 10:11 PM. Reason : ?]
9/22/2009 10:10:48 PM
^^ The Redskins have been looking horrible. I'll be benching Moss if he doesn't produce this week at Detroit. I'd probably just take a WR off the waiver.Flex Position, No-PPR, Pick 1Thomas Jones - TENMario Manningham - TBCedric Benson - PITKnowshon Moreno - OAKI'm thinking Jones, but leaning towards Manningham.[Edited on September 22, 2009 at 10:46 PM. Reason : .]
9/22/2009 10:45:39 PM
Manningham.....Dallas receivers ran right through TB on short passes. Mario has the ability to break a long one off of a short pass and TB is an easy place to do that.I think L. Washington will have more success in Tennessee than Jones. [Edited on September 22, 2009 at 10:51 PM. Reason : a]
9/22/2009 10:50:52 PM
Don't jump on Felix too quick. Report today on ESPN bottom line said Barber was 50/50 for the Panthers game.
9/23/2009 12:12:22 AM
9/23/2009 5:44:02 PM
Should I trade Roy Williams for Thomas Jones straight up? I am deeper at receiver and am in dire need of another RB, particularly if Westbrook stays dinged up (I do have McCoy as insurance though). My RBs are Westbrook, Moreno, Buckhalter, McCoy, StewartWRs are Fitzgerald, Roy Williams, Manningham, DeSean Jackson, Nate Washington, Johnny Knox.
9/23/2009 6:13:29 PM
I like that trade myself
9/23/2009 6:17:00 PM
I am a bit afraid of Leon Washington cutting into his carries, although almost everyone is RB by committee now anyway. I tried getting McGahee for Williams but they didn't bite.
9/23/2009 6:19:41 PM
Washington is gonna get more touches than he did last year (I think they said like 17 total a game including special teams) but Jones is still their #1 back and I'm personally not sold on Williams that much...he hasn't done a lot since leaving Detroit...obviously he has big upside but I don't think Dallas is going to do anything spectacular as long as Philips is their coach[Edited on September 23, 2009 at 6:24 PM. Reason : 17 total, not 17 more]
9/23/2009 6:22:02 PM
Should I keep hoping for Brady to finally do something worthwhile, or replace him with Trent Edwards?Who should I put as my other (2) running backs? Cedric Benson, Larry Johnson, LeDale White, Chris Wells, or Le'Ron McClain?
9/23/2009 6:25:42 PM
keep playing Brady
9/23/2009 6:27:23 PM
T Jones will get the red zone carrier to make it worthwhile. With that defense and rookie QB, ya gotta think they will be running both backs alot this year.(pick2) decision:Boldin v. IndyOR Berrian v. SFOR Cothcery v. Ten
9/23/2009 6:28:39 PM
PPR maybe Cotchery. But I would lean towards Boldin.
9/23/2009 6:34:42 PM
^^I would go Boldin.PPR, If Welker doesn't play:Patrick Crayton vs. CarolinaOREarl Bennet @Seattle ?
