How the fuck could you possibly know Obama wouldn't be where he is if he was white? It's just a STUPID hypotheticalis there any way to back that up? no! Ferraro was just being a little bitch, so she came up with a stupid hypothetical that obviously tricked a few morons out there into believing in a parallel universe somewhere barack obama is white, his name is jerry smith, and he can't run for president
4/21/2008 5:19:03 PM
let me note that those were Bob Johnson's comments, founder of BET...a BLACK man said those thingsand yeah you cant obviously know hypotheticals like what if this or what if thatbut if you honestly think a freshman white senator would have 90% of the black vote, you're a complete retardbut if you get a chance i'd still like to know why someone who compliments obama's speaking ability and happens to be white is a racist]
4/21/2008 5:20:29 PM
The fact that Bob Johnson, who is BLACK, said that means absolutely nothing to me.

As far as "nice" politics goes, I do believe that Obama will lighten up on the negativity once he's able to get past Hillary. I'm sure that some of her tactics have forced his hand. He couldn't just take it; some would argue that he's too weak and not tough enough if he didn't do anything. It also doesn't help that negative campaigning has an effect on the average American. It sucks, yeah, but he's smart enough to know that he needs to change the game plan a bit.I do think an Obama/Mccain matchup would be fairly civil, probably to the chagrin of the GOP, who would want to employ the same kitchen sink tactics that Hillary has done. If McCain begins to get overly negative, I expect Obama to do the same, and spin it so it comes off that he's doing very little. I don't expect Obama to jump the gun and go negative first though.
4/21/2008 5:24:15 PM
^^do you think if a white freshman senator from illinois was running for president he would have 90% of the black vote?also
4/21/2008 5:25:30 PM
4/21/2008 6:19:23 PM
I'm sure it would make you dizzy
4/21/2008 6:24:36 PM
terp care to share your own opinion about whether a white freshman senator would have 90% of the black vote in a hypothetical situationand if you feel up to answering that, i'd still be interested in your opinion of why a white person complimenting obama's speaking abilities would be deemed a racist...i personally feel its a slap in the face to obama, who worked hard and became one of the best political speakers in the last few years by his own hard work, for someone to label someone complimenting him for his hard work as a racist...its that type of shit that keeps negative stereotypes in place imo
4/21/2008 6:37:07 PM
Im not sure how you can spin, "whites control america" and they created HIV to wipe out blacks.Ill sit back and wait for your comments... This should be interesting.. of course you will just ignore it and not address the question.
4/21/2008 6:38:23 PM
I never said if someone says Obama speaks will, they're racist. It's a classic case of you taking something I said out of context, and spinning it to whatever you want it to mean. I was talking about one particular person who has a history of making patronizing statements about minorities and poor people. So yeah, the OH HE SPEAKS SO WELL, BUT THAT IS IT statement definitely had some racial subtext thereand
4/21/2008 6:53:43 PM
so you could see a scenario where a white freshman senator gets 90% of the black vote...ok thats your opinion i guess...i think it goes against all logic, reason, common sense and precedence, but you're entitled to your opinionanother question i'd ask...do you think hillary clinton's gender is helping her get any more female votes than another candidate might get who happens to be a male?]
4/21/2008 7:05:38 PM
yeah i def. think hillarys gender gets her more women votes
4/21/2008 7:07:37 PM
4/21/2008 7:08:31 PM
4/21/2008 7:24:18 PM
u seriously dont think some females are voting for her cause shes a woman?[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 7:26 PM. Reason : its prolly like half the reason she is still alive]
4/21/2008 7:25:39 PM
of course I do, I also think some females are NOT voting for her because she's a woman
4/21/2008 7:26:32 PM
"Absolutely not" or "of course" ?]
4/21/2008 7:26:44 PM
THOSE ARE 2 DIFFERENT QUESTIONS
4/21/2008 7:28:59 PM
4/21/2008 7:30:56 PM
got him twista.Terp, you said you in reference to why I think wright is an issue bc he "spoke out of term a couple times about how whites control America (which they do)"Im asking how his comments that the govt created HIV to kill blacks fits into that context you mentioned.
4/21/2008 7:42:39 PM
4/21/2008 7:48:07 PM
the point is, how can somebody reasonably say "SOME women are voting for Hillary because she is a woman" but then think it completely ludicrous to say "SOME black people are voting for Barack because he is black"?And why are some people refusing to vote for her because she's a woman?]
4/21/2008 7:49:41 PM
4/21/2008 7:52:26 PM
dont blame me because you didnt understand my question until DNL dumbed it down for you...thats definitely a you problem and not a me problem
4/21/2008 7:54:59 PM
Personally, I do not believe Obama winning the Illinois primary has anything to do with the fact that Obama is the state's junior Senator. Likewise, Hillary winning New York was totally coincidence. You see, I do not believe that people vote for candidates based on asinine bullshit like where they are from, how well they speak, what they look like, or even what party they're part of. I believe our country would be better if people voted based on an assessment of a candidate's policies, judgement, and character. Since I believe it, this makes it so.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 8:05 PM. Reason : Brb King Friday is calling me.]
4/21/2008 8:03:53 PM
Or maybe if you would answer a question, I asked it again. Which you ignored..again. hahaYeah, sorry I got confused with your spin.Q:"do you think hillary clinton's gender is helping her get any more female votes"Terp:Absolutely not Q:u seriously dont think some females are voting for her cause shes a woman?Terp: of course I do
4/21/2008 8:04:09 PM
well, you truncated the first question, making it another questiongood try, dumbass
4/21/2008 8:14:44 PM
No, I tried to clarify it for you. Apparently I needed crayons. Again, you didnt answer.Strike 3 now?

cause he watches The Wire. and it's the most logical choice. America is no longer #1 at anything anymore. #1 Casino is in Asia, #1 mall, Dubai. tallest building, Dubai (in building phase), most college educated (India), etc. its goes on and on. this election is about our presence and reputation. the war is a direct factor on the economy.

I think that overall, the fact that Obama is multi-racial has been a net positive for his campaign. He has definitely benefited from getting the vast majority of the black vote, which has turned out in droves for the primaries. That said, in the general election his racial make-up might be a drawback.
4/21/2008 8:29:19 PM
4/21/2008 8:33:17 PM
Prawn, i agree with the first part of what you said. However, in the general the ones that would be affected by his race probably werent going to vote democrat anyway. However, his policies and his peers might scare people away some moderates and independents.
4/21/2008 8:33:23 PM
4/21/2008 8:35:13 PM
^^^Blacks represent more like 25% of the electorate in the south, and a majority of them voted in the primaries. In the general election, they will undoubtedly send some southern (ie traditional red) states in Obama's direction.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 8:37 PM. Reason : 2]
4/21/2008 8:36:38 PM
^ That's true, but I can also see some barely blue states swinging to McCain in the north too.
4/21/2008 8:40:30 PM
^, ^^What makes you think that? Blacks voted overwhelmingly for Gore and Kerry too.
4/21/2008 8:53:48 PM
One word: turnoutI don't have the numbers in front of me, but significantly less than half of black voters actually voted in '00 and '04. It'll be quite a bit different this time around.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 8:59 PM. Reason : 2]
4/21/2008 8:58:20 PM
To be honest, the numbers will be higher. The percentages will probably be a little higher, but in greater numbers. There is one BIG difference between Kerry and Obama. Plus its been 4 years since the last election.
4/21/2008 8:58:45 PM
Yes, but enough to flip a southern state? I don't see it happening. A liberal, black democrat won't win a southern state,
4/21/2008 9:15:30 PM
I support Obama because I have a feeling he might be Islamic and might not be a follower of Christ. And that's what I like in a President. http://www.wspa.com/midatlantic/spa/news.apx.-content-articles-SPA-2008-04-20-0005.html
