I'm seeing he's a two-star on Packpride. Three stars on rivals I'm guessing?Looks like a great addition though. He's got legit size and good measurables. I wonder how productive he's been from a stats standpoint?

Thanks. 9 TD's is impressive.Didn't realize he was a two-way player. That only helps.
8/11/2008 4:15:19 PM
Payton has a 32 inch vertical fwiw.
8/11/2008 4:30:37 PM
There are over 240 members of the NC State Football Recruiting by Pack Pride facebook group. A few notable members include Clinton Simpkins III, Justin Brown, Travis Bond, Steven Moore and Robert Crisp. Of course Zach Greene and Corey Gattis are also members, but are committed to Duke.Crisp's screen name apparently is something like ncsuballer with some number at the end. Seems like some good mojo. If Crisp commits early on it could really get the wheels rolling, especially considering we are in good with Creecy, and are already on Kendall Moore and Gabriel Henderson early.

Jheranie Boyd is cutting his list to 5 this weekend and announcing a decision in october. anyone know if we still have a chance with this guy?

I wonder if he could end up being one of our next commitments. At 6-6 344 he'd probably make a great nose tackle for our eventual switch to the 3-4.
8/12/2008 1:35:01 PM
Tyson Chandler is pretty lanky to play DT. He had a good season with Chris Paul though, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
8/12/2008 2:04:13 PM
Arthur Fontaine commits to Georgia. We were never really in it with him.Sam Simpson committed to Kentucky. We were recruiting him earlier but either we lost interest in him or vice versa
8/12/2008 8:27:52 PM
Rivals says that Robert Crisp has made two visits to State fairly recently. This past Sunday he was visiting to observe our scrimmage.
8/14/2008 6:17:23 PM
he's been to a lot of practices and his parents have season tickets, let's hope this actually means something this time, none of that "nc state shit"
8/14/2008 7:37:17 PM
We made the cut for Jheranie Boyd, although I don't how much of a chance we have to land this kid.
8/15/2008 1:53:55 PM
btw, the teams that made the cut are State, UNC, Florida, Clemson and Auburn. please god, don't let him go to unc.
8/15/2008 4:26:54 PM
I could stand to see him go to florida, but he better not end up at clemson (because they're raping the hell out of our top talent lately) and he really better not end up at unc.
8/15/2008 5:47:21 PM
WHOOP! WHOOP! Chris Ward got bumped up to two stars on Rivals. Our star average is going to skyrocket!
8/16/2008 2:38:24 PM
Burke is transferring to Louisville per PPAnother scholly available.
8/18/2008 9:34:01 PM
cant believe you people didnt get that when I pointed out the fact that he wasnt in ANY of the media day picturesgood luck to him
8/18/2008 9:47:46 PM
give yourself a nice pat on the back
8/18/2008 10:02:22 PM
you people
8/18/2008 10:10:14 PM
Burke was the best in the spring game, but i guess others stepped up. Wilson looked not good then.

Leon Mackey committed to Virginia Tech last year right near signing day. He's going back to Hargrave this year and is going to look around at other schools. Therefore, let the Mackey sweepstakes begin!!!
8/20/2008 3:19:04 PM
Wasn't he at Hargrave last year?
8/20/2008 3:34:00 PM
really? that would be an aswome swap, burke for mackey
8/20/2008 3:41:54 PM
LB Ware academically suspended by the Univ.

8/20/2008 4:03:30 PM
Mackey was in the high school program at Hargrave last year. He'll be in the college program this year. They have more than one team.

Anyone think we land TE Asa Watson out of Rock Hill, SC? His father played at Maryland and his brother started at Duke, transferred to Georgia after one year, and finished at Northwestern. His brother Ben Watson plays TE for the Patriots. We may be one of his top schools along with Maryland b/c of the obvious connection since his father played there. He has some decent offers even though he's only a 2* on Rivals and has yet to be evaluated on Scout. ESPN has scouted him as a DE since he plays on both sides of the ball, and they have him as the #157 DE nationally. http://www.salisburypost.com/Preps/082208-gallagher-columnOk we better recruit this junior RB K.P. Parks out of West Rowan HS in Mount Ulla, NC. Kevin Parks averaged over 200 yds/game last year. http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=3743558http://ncstate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=87415
8/22/2008 4:50:57 PM
S David Sims has Kentucky and South Carolina as his leaders, but we are just behind those two. He will probably be at the State vs. South Carolina game, so a win there could provide instant recruiting dividends.
8/24/2008 11:56:01 PM
D.J. Swearinger commits to Tennessee
8/25/2008 4:46:37 PM
Denzelle Good already showing that Pack Pride.
8/25/2008 6:15:12 PM
(i'm sure you're aware, but they usually tell the kids to do that in the pictures)
8/25/2008 6:17:52 PM
Hey they've got to be taught how to do it sooner or later.
8/25/2008 6:29:37 PM
Apparently Jheranie Boyd will decide where he will go to college on October 10th at his high school football game.
8/25/2008 11:00:30 PM
Kyle Linney, Thomas Barnes, transfering Sam Jones not eligible but may return in JanuaryWill there anyone left on the team by thursday? Maybe this is old but I just read on rivals front pageHopefully we can get enough recruits to fill in the open rides resulting from this exodus
8/26/2008 9:42:18 PM
8/26/2008 9:46:08 PM
TOB said Sam Jones will be here in January. So unless a huge change of heart comes(the boy has been with us for 2 years now, so i don't see it happenin), he'll be here for spring practice come '09.Linney leaving hurts. Thomas Barnes i can live with, b/c he was beat out by younger players(maddox and lucas) before manning and beasley even had a shot. So that doesn't hurt so much(except for depth this year) but losing linney hurts b/c he played a position that we need players at, DT.
8/26/2008 9:47:11 PM
I know this is getting off topic but who all is for sure not playing this year? Here is what I am aware ofInjuryDonald BowensClem JohnsonJovan WalkerTerrell ManningColby Jackson?RedshirtMike Glennon
8/26/2008 10:00:05 PM
eugene
8/26/2008 10:05:12 PM
eugene is NOT out for the year, just for the game on thursday, it sounds like an ankle sprain
8/26/2008 10:14:29 PM
Hard to believe but we've lost as many people this year as we have committed for next year's class (9). Apparently no one wants to play for our team (or can't get their act together)
8/27/2008 9:10:06 PM
i cant help but wonder if eugene is going to pull an eric cole tommorow...
8/27/2008 11:03:31 PM

If I were an offensive player being recruited to NC State, I would be like "Fuck You" after last nights showing. No one had an idea what they fuck they were doing, even the coaches.
