seriously. when i first started playing, listening to the radio while searching the wasteland was awesome then i quickly realized there were only like 4 songs and now i'm tired of them all
11/19/2008 9:59:40 AM
There are actually 20, but you do hear them all quite a lot.You could unlock Agatha's station for some violin music, but that gets boring too.
11/19/2008 10:09:08 AM
hmmm, perhaps i should leave my radio on more. i know for certain i have not heard even 10 songs
11/19/2008 10:25:44 AM
Its 13 'songs' on GNR. Of course there is other music on the soundtrack, like the main screen theme for example. I put together the soundtrack of the actual songs right herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVXZejapJvg&feature=PlayList&p=0411DEC88AAAC9F4&index=0&playnext=1[Edited on November 19, 2008 at 10:31 AM. The ones in Red on that page I do not know.If fact you are right, I am listneing to them now! I will add them to the my playlist.[Edited on November 19, 2008 at 10:33 AM. Reason : /]

Only 2 of the Red ones on that page seem to have a Youtube video.[Edited on November 19, 2008 at 10:37 AM. Reason : /]
11/19/2008 10:37:20 AM
Yeah, I don't know why I'd deliberately listen to any of those songs on youtube - they're already stuck in my head as it is.
11/19/2008 11:48:54 AM
I know I'm way before most of you but I need a bit of help.I just made my way to Rivet City. The three camps of Super Mutants expended all of my ammo, and every single item that restores HP. I'm level 5, so I don't know if I did it too soon or what, but it doesn't seem like it should have been that hard. Now I have ~700 caps and 0 ammo with no stimpacks. What the hell do I do now.
11/19/2008 11:52:46 AM
Dude, you are in an Super Mutant Infested area, and some of them even have miniguns LOL. Erm, I did a lot of exploring by the time I reached Rivet City so I was strapped when I got there. Do you have any drugs on hand like Psycho, Med-x, etc. etc.?
11/19/2008 11:57:12 AM
Buy some ammo and stimpacks in rivet city? What is you character like? Also loot the hell out of the dead muties and trade the weapons for ammo/stimpacks. If you can't carry it all just go back and forth.[Edited on November 19, 2008 at 12:01 PM. Reason : ]
11/19/2008 11:58:38 AM
I made it up i just wanted to find something before all of you did
11/19/2008 12:02:19 PM
Yeah... I didn't realize just how much GNR I had listened to until I caught myself humming/singing along while playing or whistling some of those songs in the office. At least its less repetitive than the Enclave station (which is funny in its own, warped way).
11/19/2008 12:27:50 PM
I've actually been listening to Enclave Radio a lot more than GNR... partially because I still haven't done Three Dog's quest (I went straight to Rivet City for the survival guide and accidentally skipped then main quest stuff when I talked to Doctor Li), so GNR isn't available out in the wastes. Also, I just bought a sidekick named Sergeant RL-3 (he's a Mister Gutsy robot, and is surprisingly powerful... flamethrower and a plasma gun) who is constantly yelling about how shit gets done in the US Army. The patriotic music and 'presidential' addresses just seem so much more appropriate for the situation.[Edited on November 19, 2008 at 1:20 PM. Reason : .]
11/19/2008 1:20:06 PM
^ Threedog's quest has nothing to do with the GNR radio station playing in the most of the Wastes that I am aware of.
11/19/2008 1:21:38 PM
You get no reception on GNR out in the wasteland (past Megaton it starts to fade out) until you fix whatever it is on top of the Washington Monument. Quest is called Galaxy News Radio and the whole point of it is for GNR to get better reception. If you mean the main story quest... as far as I understood it, unless you pass a speech check, Three Dog wouldn't tell you where your father went until after you'd done the GNR quest for him. But, again, you can skip most of that main-story quest entirely just by talking to Doctor Li at Rivet City.
11/19/2008 1:25:22 PM
Oh I see what you are saying now.
11/19/2008 1:27:33 PM
they should have let the guys who do GTA's radio stations do thesei only listen to them if i get lonely out in the wasteland
11/19/2008 1:30:13 PM
Usually I only turn them on after a radio somewhere in the environment reminds me that a radio exists... and then it usually gets turned off again once President Eden says "I want to talk about government... specifically, YOUR government" for the fourth time... or if I'm listening to GNR, once Three Dog shouts "Vacation? Revolution?! Somebody FART?" for who knows how many times... or I just get utterly sick of how disgustingly campy 50s music is. One of those.
11/19/2008 1:35:33 PM
My favorite is when Eden starts talking about baseball and all that shit. I mostly keep the radio off and just listen to the background music or play my own.
11/19/2008 1:55:41 PM
^^ Music from that era was charming, its tells you a lot about the culture, people, and everyday life back then.
11/19/2008 2:06:33 PM
So...I'm new to TWW. I am lvl 15 and I haven't found my father yet...Am I going to regret waiting so long to start the main story?

Agatha's Station is nice if you like classical violin. That's usually what I keep the radio on.
11/19/2008 5:17:45 PM
^^^ Dude, I would say if you don't have any weapons that dish out 20 Damage, or can't repair them to do so, you might be in over your head in this area if this is your first play through.
11/19/2008 5:23:03 PM
here's how i like to handle to big monsters. make a bunch of nuka-grenades and/or bottle cap mines. get the monsters corralled up by letting them chase you, then pop off a couple grenades or explosives. it will either kill them or soften them up enough to use your guns.oh, and i can't stand to listen to GNR because of three dog. that "hello chiiiidren" is like nails on a chalkboard. if you kill him, will it still play the music? [Edited on November 19, 2008 at 6:17 PM. Reason : .]
11/19/2008 6:15:54 PM
I never listen to the radio... is there a reason I should? I just assumed it was something extra for ambiance
11/19/2008 6:27:51 PM
^ The DJ guy on GNR says stuff about the quests you have and relevant information, if you're evil it's kinda funny.
11/19/2008 7:02:20 PM
11/19/2008 9:07:21 PM
Yeah, repair was the first thing I maxed my second time around. I'm now at level 18 and have maxed (through points + items) repair, science, small guns, medicine, lockpick and sneak. Speech is next, followed by energy weapons. Everything else is a meh-skill.

^^I accidentally skipped the galaxy news quest, I'm still not sure where it is.
11/20/2008 10:05:30 AM
^I skipped that as well by talking to Dr. Li in Rivet city. Once you find/go to the GNR station, you can still do that quest.^^^It will sneak up on you really fast. There are only 11 main story quests.[Edited on November 20, 2008 at 10:19 AM. Reason : ]
11/20/2008 10:18:49 AM
There's some garage or something, forgot the name of it, that starts you even further on the main story if you get too close (in other words, if you try to enter it) during your random exploration of the map. It's hard to know that you're going to be skipping anything, too.The worst part of this one? It can glitch the game, since you can get jumped way ahead of where you should be, so certain conditions might not be met for certain things.Read about this one on the fallout wiki but I forgot what it was called and don't feel like looking it up.
11/20/2008 11:03:23 AM
oooh i bet that happened to me. i skipped over a quest on accident for the main one by entering the place where his father dies later on.the best sniper rifle is missing for me in the game. wonder if that did it.
11/20/2008 11:15:56 AM
I have to admit that its one of the things that surprised me the most, especially given the open-ended nature of the game. You'd think it wouldn't be all that hard to turn off certain dialog options or lock a few doors until previous main quests were completed...Nitpick though. Game still kicks ass.
11/20/2008 11:23:52 AM
I had dogmeat for about 2 minutes and though he survived the fight (I think) I haven't seen him since.Oh well
11/20/2008 12:38:38 PM
That friggin dog is annoying because he dies to quick. I restarted a save twice to keep him, the third time I ate his ass after they killed him.
11/20/2008 12:42:35 PM
lol @ eating dog ass
11/20/2008 1:54:20 PM
i loaded the game to the hard drive. much better load times in some areas now. woohoo!
11/20/2008 2:22:54 PM
I had the robot, RL-4 I think, for a while. I kept him around more for his hilarious battle quotes than for his actual usefulness.
11/20/2008 4:34:02 PM
whoa where'd you get a robot?
11/20/2008 4:37:41 PM
Star Paladin Cross is the best and most useful follower that I have found.
11/20/2008 5:28:37 PM
I finally bought the damn game and have time to play it. Haven't played a game in like 2 months.
11/20/2008 5:36:28 PM
don't you have to be neutral to get the robotthats no fun
11/20/2008 5:49:20 PM
ha ha i just now figured out that you can zoom in with weapons while waiting on your VATS to recharge. i'm a dumbass.
