^You don't need the Wii to do that.
11/2/2006 12:20:27 PM
Still, I don't feel like breaking out the old school stuff to play that.

^It was established back in May.

I would pony up for an perfect arcade version of KI and KI2.

New Smash Bros. trailerhttp://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748545/vids_1.htmlLooks like there's destructible environments. Fox McCloud looks kinda badass towards the end.
11/3/2006 5:08:13 PM
how much does the controller cost?
11/3/2006 6:20:49 PM
$40 for an extra wiimote and $20 for an extra nunchuck... so $60...
11/3/2006 8:02:26 PM
$20 for the "classic controller"
11/3/2006 9:42:56 PM
so are stores such as best buy, target, etc... opening at midnight to give out first come, first serve wiis? or opening at normal business hours and giving out first come first serve?
11/5/2006 7:25:54 PM
only a few Best Buy's are doing midnight sales. I'm not sure if any in the Triangle are. I know Wal-Mart has already done a presale.
11/5/2006 7:27:28 PM
damn... i'm normally not "that guy" to be there all early to get one of the first ones, but zelda is worth it.. i can't wait to play that game
11/5/2006 7:28:26 PM
The talk is Best Buy will have a shit ton on release day. Just call to find out if that particular one is doing a presale. I'd rather be at a midnight sale than have to wake up all early to possibly not get one. At least with a midnight sale, if you don't get one, you still have two hours to get smashed at Mitch's.
11/5/2006 7:36:17 PM
yeah i'll call around this week... however, i just hope the person i talk to knows wtf they are talking about....
11/5/2006 7:40:50 PM
i'm hoping my 24-hour wal-mart supercenter has 'emany word on wal-mart selling on the midnight eve of the 19th?
11/5/2006 9:11:56 PM
I read Wal-Mart already did/ is doing pre-sales
11/5/2006 9:36:51 PM
GameStop announced it would sell bundles online on Thursday. Less than $699 is all it said; no details about what's included. But probably expect the classic controller, a second Wiimote and nunchuck and Legend of Zelda . . . but there's got to be more for $699 . . .
11/7/2006 5:00:23 PM
of course there is
11/7/2006 5:11:15 PM
other games?
11/7/2006 5:32:07 PM
the Target at Crossroads should have 60 systems
11/7/2006 11:25:48 PM
24 at the North Hills Target
11/7/2006 11:26:41 PM
24 at the Brier Creek Target

I hope they announce a Pikmin game for the Wii in the near future. With the WiiMote as it is, a Pikmin game only makes sense, much like Metroid and Wario Ware. Soooooo, when's the next big gaming convention where Nintendo has the opportunity to announce something ?On that note, I am VERY tempted to pick one of these up on launch day, if not only for Zelda. Not to mention that I didn't get any consoles last generation (I was a leech from friends) and there are plenty of GC games I would like to play.
11/8/2006 12:46:01 PM
ebgames is offering a preorder bundle this week for those of you wanting this children's system
11/8/2006 12:56:01 PM
I am offering my foot up your ass, for those of you that would like to STFU.
11/8/2006 1:03:43 PM
Bundles are merely a way of dumping off shitty games/components that not many people would otherwise buy (typical case).Tell me I can buy a Wii, 1 extra controller, and 2 games (of my choice) for $10-$20 less than normal retail and we have a deal.
11/8/2006 3:40:26 PM
11/8/2006 3:43:10 PM
the EB Games bundle...
11/8/2006 5:55:18 PM
ha ha that shit is ridiculous
11/8/2006 6:05:07 PM
not bad game selection considering.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 6:12 PM. Reason : though i wouldnt want the sd card or replacement plan]
11/8/2006 6:12:13 PM
I'd like to see a classic controller and an extra nunchuck
11/8/2006 6:31:59 PM
Hahahaha nobody is gonna pay $700 for that stuff.
11/8/2006 6:34:04 PM
if i get a wii & games this year, it will be a combination of gifts from several ppl for xmas.
11/8/2006 6:45:35 PM
People WILL do this to secure one at launch.
11/8/2006 6:48:20 PM
Thats hilarious. Adding all that up (ignoring their bullshit subscription and product replacement) comes to be $45 less than they are charging. Have people forgotten what bundles are?And yea, the game selection is pretty decent except for shitty Madden.^My guess it that systems will be plenty, but certain games will be in hot demand.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 6:53 PM. 11/8/2006 6:51:59 PM
Damn what a ripoffAnyway, on to some good news...
11/8/2006 11:53:36 PM
Awesome. Now I just hope they don't cost $50.
11/9/2006 12:13:10 AM
The fact that I have to buy a component cable extra is baffling. Xbox 360 has came with one since last freaking year.Nintendo is awesome, but they pull some VERY retarded moves (see: 480p support for GameCube, too)
11/9/2006 7:53:41 AM
Actually I think the component cables thing makes sense. HDTVs don't have strong market penetration. The Big N actually quit manufacturing GCs with the component cable port because only a very small percentage of their customers used it. And component cables only come with the 360 premium bundle. The core bundle has composite cables.
11/9/2006 10:29:50 AM
^ How many people do you know who actually purchase a CORE 360? Nobody? The Core system is a joke, and the lack of component cables is one huge reason why.The reason "no one" took advantage of 480p on the GC is because the component cables were ONLY available through their webstore, thus no one but the hardcore will even bother to order it. Thus, small market demand. Nintendo created their own lack of demand for 480p on the GC.Last gen, no systems came w/ HD cabling. Now, it's expected. HD is no longer "small market." Escp. in the gaming realm, it's a huge deal. People were enraged that the $500 PS3 would lack an HDMI port, and last year about 2% of America even knew what HDMI meant.I'm simply saying that not including component cables is a crappy move altogether. A set of normal composite cables probably costs the big N about $2 max; tossing both in would've went over great, and considering they're actually profitting off console sales (unlike MS & Sony), they could've affording it.Yet again, Nintendo eliminates itself from a segment of the market. The Wii was #1 on my list before I heard it wouldn't support true HD, now I'll probably only get one for the next Smash Bros. & Mario Kart. I love Nintendo's stuff, but this is 2006. Gaming is HD now. N needs to get w/ the program.
11/9/2006 11:21:04 AM
I have HDTV and a 360, and I've noticed that no matter how good the graphics are you just stop noticing after the first 10 minutes once the W W factor has worn off.Graphics and HD resolutions can make a great game better, but really as long as the games are fun, I think it's silly to base your entire reasoning on one aspect of a console.
11/9/2006 12:34:19 PM
I somewhat agree with you. Although I think 720p for the 360 is kind of a must...I mean, it's affordable now so just even grabbing a 30" CRT at 720p for like 500 is worth every penny for the games out there that use it. But in the end it's not how detailed the graphics are, it's about gameplay (fun, etc) and fluidity (frames per second, controls)[Edited on November 9, 2006 at 12:37 PM. Reason : afd]
11/9/2006 12:37:18 PM
shit. do you REALLY expect nintendo to stay on the technology curve?
11/9/2006 12:37:55 PM
Nahh...for nintendo 480p works just fine imo. Their software speaks for itself. Tons of what I mentioned above....Ya know, I love how they control their 1st party titles to have a consistent and large silky FPS. That's so important. I hate games like GTA where the game feels like shit molasses and controls worse.
11/9/2006 12:39:51 PM
11/9/2006 12:59:47 PM
^ I restarted Ocarina of Time last week and it is still better than any game I have ever played on any system. Please get back in the Sony thread.p.s. I would rather play 007 or MarioCart 64 than Halo.
11/9/2006 1:09:31 PM
Damn, SouthPaw, could you be little more melodramatic? While I hate the lack of support for 720p and higher resolutions as much as the next guy, the truth of the matter is it doesn't make that big of a deal. The Wii is only slightly more powerful than the original Xbox and very few of its games went above 480p. The graphics and gameplay thing has been repeated ad nauseum because it's TRUE. Look at the DS and PSP. The DS is technologically inferior to the PSP, yet it's kicking its ass all over the place in sales.
11/9/2006 1:17:02 PM
^^ Back in the Sony thread? bro I've never even POSTED in the Sony thread (at least in a fanboy sense). I never even owned a PS2 because I don't exactly admire the controllers. Sure, you may bust out the old school Zelda. I still have (and love) Mario Kart: DD and Donkey Konga, but you can bet I was looking forward to an HD version of Mario Kart & Smash Bros. that just ain't gonna happen.Don't deny graphics aren't a HUGE, HUGE selling point for games, and the older the graphics get, the less hype/value/play they get, *generally speaking* (as in, the general public).[Edited on November 9, 2006 at 1:18 PM.
