That fucker Jack Todd is a draft dodger. This is what i got from wikipedia: "He left the U.S. Army in 1970 to avoid being sent to Vietnam and settled in Vancouver, BC."

so is cole gonna be ready for the next series? when is he projected to come back? if at all?
5/1/2006 12:05:54 PM
He's projected to come back in the conference final the last I read.
5/1/2006 12:08:23 PM
I think that was a best case scenario. He still has a lot of rehab to do. I wouldn't expect him back until next season.
5/1/2006 12:08:54 PM
yea, I don't want him to seriously risking his career by rushing to come back.

^i agree except for the "fans" part.[Edited on May 1, 2006 at 12:40 PM. Reason : too good a name for them... try um... cocksuckers]
5/1/2006 12:39:59 PM
who does that?can you even call yourself a sports fan in general? thats like being down 1-0 in the 5th and leaving because you are gonna lose the baseball game
5/1/2006 12:43:54 PM
^while i see your point, dropping 2 games in a row at home to start a series is much worse than being down 1-0 in the 5th inning of a baseball game!
5/1/2006 12:45:50 PM
true. but you have the same chance of coming back
5/1/2006 12:47:04 PM
being down 2-0 was nothing short of devastating.....i mean, we were one odd bounce, one single goal away in game three's OT from being down 3-0, an impossible hole.its true that in the new NHL, being down 2-0 goals is now easier to come back from, but being down 2-0 games is still what it always was.[Edited on May 1, 2006 at 12:48 PM. at least boobsrgreat has officially been proven wrong, the habs cannot win in 6 games.i said the canes in 5; now, if ward (or a competent gerber) had been in goal, we would have split at home, and the series would have been over in 5 games.
5/1/2006 1:03:03 PM
agreed
5/1/2006 5:29:43 PM
that was a great atmosphere last night...however the one area where they legally allow people to scalp SUCKS because those black dudes ruin any good prices any of us could ever get. I however didnt even sit in my seat and I sat way up there..it was great because I stood up and was loud as I wanted without some yuppy behind me yelling at me.
5/2/2006 12:00:04 AM
those black dudes
5/2/2006 12:02:35 AM
THOSE DAMN BLACK DUDES WHATS NEXT THEY GONNA WANT TO START PLAYING THE GAME???

5/2/2006 1:15:31 AM
we dont know the truth. if he didnt have a problem they would have put word out that something was wrong to save face.
5/2/2006 1:16:44 AM
No, they wouldn't have. That's not hockey. They didn't do it with Staal or O'Neill, so why do it with Gerber?
5/2/2006 1:19:53 AM
when did staal cost us two hockey games?[Edited on May 2, 2006 at 1:20 AM. Reason : 20k]
5/2/2006 1:20:30 AM
He disappeared for two long stretches. As a forward he can't intrinsically "cost" the team a game like a goaltender can, but that doesn't change the situation from a press standpoint. If goaltenders are subject to different rules, where are the stories about Miller and Giguere having the flu?
5/2/2006 1:22:48 AM
notice we only heard about the bug after he was pulled. if his cold was so bad that he actually lost 13 lbs in a week, theres no way he would have started.
5/2/2006 1:24:25 AM
So explain Miller and Giguere.
5/2/2006 1:31:50 AM
It's the playoffs. It's hockey. Unless a doctor forbids a guy from playing, he's going to play. Shit, I remember when Brent Gilchrist had groin muscles fucking tearing off of the bones, and he would just go to the locker room and get it numbed up, and get back out there. Mario Lemieux had to be helped to the ice some games because he was in such pain. It didn't matter how sick Gerber was; if he wanted to go, he was going to go. The coach is always going to at least give the guy the chance. Once he saw he wasn't up to it, he got him out.
5/2/2006 1:32:51 AM
^^you said it yourself the situation is very different.
5/2/2006 1:39:12 AM
SO, IF THE CANES ORG IS GOING TO MAKE AN EXCUSE FOR GERBER EVEN IF HE ISN'T SICK, WHERE ARE THE EXCUSES FOR GIGUERE AND MILLER
5/2/2006 1:46:50 AM
DIFFERENT SITUATIONthe canes can tell the press whatever the fuck they want. they dont have to be consistent, they dont have to be honest.
5/2/2006 1:48:46 AM
Explain to me how the situation of Gerber playing like shit and getting yanked in favor of a rookie is different from the situation of Giguere playing like shit and getting yanked in favor of a rookie.
5/2/2006 1:50:06 AM
did the two events happen in different games?
5/2/2006 1:51:20 AM
When you'd like to discuss hockey, I'll be here.
5/2/2006 2:04:57 AM
all i am saying is that there is a chance there was nothing physically wrong with him. how can you claim that you know with 100 percent certainty that there is not?
5/2/2006 2:10:53 AM
I never claimed that.It would, however, be a 180 degree turn from the history of this organization and that of the game of hockey in general.
5/2/2006 2:12:53 AM
Jesus christ, just looking at Gerber you can tell he is sick. He looks absolutely terrible.
5/2/2006 2:19:56 AM
He's constantly frustrated in practice and warmups as well. You can see he's not moving like he wants to.
5/2/2006 2:21:29 AM
