OK, NeoEraser, I did that and it doesn't work. I did open=.\JumpFold\FoldConsoleWhatever.exewill that work, or do I need to get rid of the .\whenever I plug in the drive, the computer just tries to play music or something
11/18/2004 5:56:22 PM
remove the '.' and give that the shot. Some of you guys must have been folding FOREVER. I've noticed that eeyore57 has 5,252 WU's. That's like, wow. [Edited on November 18, 2004 at 6:13 PM. Reason : eeyore57]
11/18/2004 6:02:56 PM
kinda like wow, it is somewhat misread... you could have a WU mess up or your cpu overheat back in the day and you could submit like ten or twenty a day...
11/18/2004 8:23:37 PM
aight, its gotta be the jumpdrive being screwy and not autorunning on this computer.

as soon as I get things up and running smoothly, yo can count on a few new Dell 2400s folding for us during the daytime did anyone ever come up with a good, effective, free, MANAGABLE way to install FAH as a service?]
11/19/2004 7:00:11 AM
It's built into the console now. 5.0 give syou the option, as long as the user has administrator rights.
11/19/2004 7:13:47 AM
Okay, so we are now team number 90 and have moved up 5 spots this week. Not bad...^^^ i am sure that was all you, it for sure wasn't me... nice, i am sure that is a team record as well, etc...

11/22/2004 7:30:27 PM
welp, so much for the thumbdrive. I washed that bitch in the washer the other day by accident. Guess I'll try again on a new one after BLACK FRIDAY, DUH DUH DUH!!!!!!!!!
11/22/2004 10:57:01 PM
lol, as opposed to washing it in the dryer
11/22/2004 11:44:47 PM
aight, we got a system up and running at work right now w/ the 5.02 console. Will the options presented in the console program itself be all I need in order to optimize everything right?
11/23/2004 9:15:23 AM
it should be everything you need.
11/23/2004 10:59:11 AM
I started running Folding... but it sucks on my computer.I don't think it supports my G5 very well. Processor load doesn't increase at all, and frankly... it just sucks.Know of any open source mac ports that work better? If so, I'll help.
11/23/2004 12:24:39 PM
There are no open source ports. Just let the client run. It will take a LONG time, not really something you can sit and watch.
11/23/2004 2:16:06 PM
Aaron, you should see an increase in processor usage. Maybe the settings aren't right in the console. Granted, I'm not familiar w/ a mac, but when I used F@H on a linux distro, the processor readings were a bit funky to me, so could that maybe be the case on the mac? The readings not looking as you would expect?
11/23/2004 6:58:48 PM
be careful with those lab machines, neo. I'm probably not telling you something you dont already know, or havent already gotten permission for, but some people get very upset when they find out state machines are being used for other purposes than direct academic work related to that respective institution. It would be ashame to get fired for this. Would be 'misuse of state equipment' if someone wanted to get technical (assuming this is an NC State lab). I am making a lot of assumptions, so you could be in the clear, but wanted to point it out.[Edited on November 23, 2004 at 7:44 PM. Reason : .]

11/23/2004 9:32:36 PM
Basically... it took about 4 hours to run a single unit.Is that normal?I'm was not running the GUI or anything
11/23/2004 10:34:06 PM
Currently it is taking me 73 hrs to do a single WU on my AMD 1700+, so a few hours is good. Each work unit takes a different amount of time to compute depending on the complexity ect. Don't worry, points for WUs are detemined by the time it takes on a benchmark machine, so bigger WU's may take longer, but you also get more points for them.
11/23/2004 11:15:39 PM
Thanks for the concern CarZin, but it's all good. I work for a public school system, actually as an inhouse technician at two schools. I'm at the schools everyday. If there are any problems, I'll be the first to know and the clients will be removed.I REALLY hope there aren't any problems though.
11/24/2004 11:09:29 AM

the signatures should be close to your 24 hour average, based on the average of the last 30 days, (1 or 2 more days until the signatures are 100% accurate)[Edited on November 29, 2004 at 9:44 AM. Reason : .]
