jackleg I took a plea deal on the advice of my lawyer

the whole thing was some bullshit that I also didn't do but the fastest way for me to move on with my life was to be victimized by the system

made me pretty acutely aware of the ratchet effect in our so-called justice system (the infraction was a misdemeanor that became a felony because of the "war on terror")
