How do you know when it is your turn? Like phone call or some online page or what? I figure mine will be early may.

Are you all first responders? What's the deal that you can get them so early?

I'd like to get one as soon as I can and am hoping flood gates open come April.

I’m not first responder. I’m in agriculture and we’ve been getting lots of emails and updates from people in the county and local government telling us we’re now eligible (phase 3 essential workers I think? I dunno) and telling us where to clinics are being held.

I showed up to the local high school yesterday. Waited about an hour, filled out some paperwork and got a shot. They didn’t ask me to prove any eligibility for the shot. It was very easy.

There’s a clinic in Dunn tomorrow (Friday) that ive gotten info about if anybody lives out that way. The wording I received said “all essential employees” are eligible. 9am-3pm at the Dunn community center. Walk ins only.

My county health department (johnston) had a phone number you could subscribe to that sends you text alerts about clinics within the county too.

I'd get it tomorrow but I'm classified as a 5 in NC, so I'm not sure how long that will take.

I got my first Pfizer dose last Sunday and it fucked me up pretty bad for about 36 hours-- felt just like COVID without the cough and fever, but I was fine by Tuesday. Not sure if the second jab will be any worse, but I'm going to try to schedule it on a Friday

my family practice called me saying it was time to shoot my shot. I became eligible when they opened it up to restaurant workers. wife is a teacher, so she got hers a few days before me.

Scheduled for the Pfizer shot tomorrow in Burlington. I qualify as essential since I work in higher education and I have an on-campus rotation, so I work one week a month on campus.

Lucked into one that was going to be wasted if it wasn’t used. Felt a little under the weather the next day. Not looking forward to the second one if it’s just going to amplify that.

call walgreens and ask to speak to the pharmacy, tell them you'd like to be put on the waiting list for covid no-shows

put my name on the list at a few different stores and got a call after dinner 4 days later

Yesterday I called one in Wilson after seeing that they all had 20 to 30 open slots. Got a shot today and my next on April 7th. It was a 40 minute drive but it was literally get on 264 and take one exit and then you're there.

Alamance County Health Department had a great setup. They have a big building in the strip mall next to JR's Cigar Outlet so hard to miss. They had one big room for intake and processing paperwork, which I sailed through in maybe 3 minutes. Shot took another 3-5 minutes in a large room in the back and then a final room had observation chairs where you hang for 15 minutes. After that I was given a card for my second shot and sent home.

Arm is a little sore today but no reactions. Just tried not to sleep on it last night but that was the only issue I've had so far.

How does signing up for an excess shot work with acquiring a second dose of the same vaccine? Or is it not an issue to receive two doses of different vaccines?

They will/have to give you a second appointment with the same vaccine. You won’t be in limbo.

first shot(Pfizer,) I had no side effects. I've heard of some folks getting hit hard on the second one. Anyone experienced that? Also know a few folks that got the JNJ single dose and got pretty sick for a day.

I got my first dose of Moderna today.

I used a very loose interpretation of "continuance of goverent services" and my government contracting badge to get priority group status.
It was a bitch finding appointments here in Maryland though

Wife and I got our first shot of Moderna on march 2, we get our second shot on thursday.
Not looking forward to the second shot, we have a toddler who is in his prime tantrum phase and his school is closed friday, its gonna be rough dealing with him if the shot fucks us up.

That's why I asked my question. If you've already been infected with and cleared COVID, the first shot can hit you similarly hard to the second shot for those who haven't yet been infected.

I did. Late Dec of 2019 before anyone knew what it was. Had to go to the ER twice
