1. The discussion was clearly about the spotlight during his career; nobody, including you, specified just 19982. That isn't at all obvious, a couple shots of being in the hotel room doesn't prove he wasn't out gambling other times And I found this in about 2 min of searching
5/13/2020 10:56:31 AM
I shouldn’t have said he only left his suite to go to the arena or golfing. that was dumb. I just disagree that the spotlight on him would have been brighter during this era than it was during his era. my point stands about him being more careful/guarded after Atlantic City in 1993, though
5/13/2020 11:14:32 AM
Ok heard that your guess of a point standsAnd official investigative journalists might not be around anymore and not have as much access, but theyve been replaced by 1000s of amateur journalists. Not great for putting together long tell alls, but excellent for candidly capturing celebrities when they don't want to be seen/photographed
5/13/2020 1:45:05 PM
which is of course true, but there’s a reason why we don’t see tons of videos/pictures of athletes (especially the most famous/greatest) doing dumb shit (not that going to casinos is dumb)of course some people aren’t as smart about it and those people get caught, but the majority of athletes are pretty damn good at staying relatively hidden
5/13/2020 1:54:45 PM
Or, the majority of athletes don't do stupid shit!
5/13/2020 2:04:08 PM
^^, ^, I'm sure it's both, but the argument stands that some athletes know how much easier it is to be caught, and modify thsir behavior, and some are indeed smart about that behavior but have to work much harder and be smarter than in the 90s. Also most athletes don't project the image Jordan was trying to project so they can probably do more things without worry of career damage. James Harden is widely known to go to strip clubs all the time, but he doesn't care that much.
5/13/2020 2:08:14 PM
and he still makes a ton of money from endorsements
5/13/2020 2:19:20 PM
Right but he doesn't make MJ (or LeBron) money and doesn't attempt two project a squeaky clean image. What's the worst story we've ever heard about LeBron? It's like around last Christmas for his birthday he went to a strip club.....with his wife.
5/13/2020 2:49:26 PM
I think part of that is that LeBron isn't a gambling addict and is generally a "good" person.
5/13/2020 2:53:31 PM
I hear he pees his pants and poops in under construction houses

Jordan talking shit to Bird at the end of episode 9 was good
5/17/2020 10:32:00 PM
the best

This documentary was hyped up so much for the last several months and it exceeded my expectations. I remember being a 12 year old kid, living in Wilmington and watching the Jordan hanging hand shot to beat the Jazz, realizing that was the end of an era. Re-living all those iconic games and moments from a different lens was so gratifying.

Wish Malone and Longley would have contributed to The Last Dance. But definitely loved it
5/18/2020 12:27:22 AM
Longley? what?there is about zero that Luc Longley would’ve added to that doc
5/18/2020 1:17:02 AM
Jordan's layup vs the Lakers in the 91 Finals where he switches the ball needlessly from his right hand to his left hand before scoring is still so overrated
5/18/2020 2:21:03 AM
Just realized I said I was 12 in 1998. I was 16. I drink too much
5/18/2020 10:32:57 PM
^^^i’d like to hear why he has beef with MJ. Unless that facebook link was fake news
5/18/2020 11:27:18 PM
Pippen was always trying to prove his worth by withholding himself from the game.
5/19/2020 3:11:30 AM
Jordan was the most competitive basketball player ever, except for the first time he retired, and the second time he retired, and the third time he retired

The various recent stuff from Pippen, Grant, Parrish, Malone, Hodges etc is almost as interesting as the show itself
5/21/2020 10:28:22 PM
The whole series is trying to convince fans he's the GOAT, but gets the opposite result lol.
5/26/2020 10:01:06 AM
On ABC already. Watched the last two episodes yesterday afternoon at the regular time of the Finals.
