So what do pool fans think about news that there won't be significant additions? I know your team is pretty complete but city's depth is what keeps them so good.
5/17/2019 12:48:17 AM
I'd love to see an upgrade beside VVD. Matip and Lovren get the job done, but I think that spot could improve. Also need more depth at LB/RB although Gomez helps. MF is fine if Milner doesn't have to spell LB/RB. Up front depends on Origi but probably need to replace Sturridge. He really doesn't fit with Klopp.I agree with the sentiment, against City, not spending means you're prob falling behind.
5/17/2019 1:01:08 AM
City are a complete outlier from any other team I can think of when it comes to depth. Any time you're leaving the likes of a De Bruyne, either Silva, etc. out of a matchday 18 you have an insane amount of resources. They're uniquely positioned to challenge on four fronts every single season, while even a team like Liverpool is trotting out 16 year olds during the domestic cup games. I actually have a lot of respect for Pep for being able to manage all those big name guys and keep them semi-satisfied with missing out on a lot of games.Liverpool definitely need LB/RB depth, because they routinely trot Milner out there as cover for both and that's unacceptably shallow. If they don't lose any of their big names, I don't see any reason for big spending.

At one point they had scouts looking hard at the following: Timo Werner, Tanguy Ndombele, Memphis Depay, and Julian Brandt.Rumors in April were on Dybala, Vincius Junior, and David Neres. I have no idea if those are still in play. Some sites have been suggesting that Countinho could return for the right price, I just don't see that happening. I am still curious to see what happens with Fekir.I think they will let go: Sturridge, Clyne, Mignolet, Moreno, Lallana and Ings[Edited on May 17, 2019 at 10:21 AM. Reason : .]
5/17/2019 9:52:31 AM
So I guess we know Mourinho's next destination now.
5/17/2019 10:06:49 AM
Yea will be interesting to see who pool add. Sir Alex' and United always had a process of if there is quality to be added to your squad then you do it regardless of need. Pool should consider similar approaches. Mourinho to Juve? I don't know, find it hard to believe. Juve isn't the kind of place for Mou but never know.
5/17/2019 10:14:06 AM
Conte nailed on imoI could see all those except Vinicius Junior. Why would real sell one of the most promising youth players in the world right now having bought him and waited over a year for him to join the club? Doesn't make much sense.
5/17/2019 2:53:53 PM
I would be surprised if its Conte. He didn't leave on the best of terms and he was reportedly close to an agreement with Inter. Doubt Juve and Ronaldo want Conte. I can see one of Mourinho, Poch (Juve is still a bigger club than Tot), or even Sarri if Chelsea sack him. Would be weird if they went with Inzaghi though.
5/17/2019 3:27:27 PM
Liverpool will buy someone this summer, no doubt about it. It's just hard to find that world class player when you have a settled XI already without paying ridiculous wages. Makes it even harder to get a good price when it's obvious to everyone what you need to add to the squad. Timo Werner is the most commonly mentioned name but I think he's 99.9% at Bayern next year. My ideal pick is Hakim Ziyech that would be able to play in a variety of spots but every top team in Europe wants him now. If Liverpool don't buy this type of reinforcement, I will be shocked. For defense, I've seen Lloyd Kelly's name a lot, which fits with signings like Gomez/Robertson that you can bring along slowly as depth. I really don't think we need a top class signing here though at all. Gomez/Matip/VVD is one of the stronger CB rotations in the league.I think midfield is no problem for now, especially with Ox (hopefully) back next year and I am still in the pro-Keita camp as thinking he will shine now that he's had some experience in the league. I can see someone like Lallana leaving but I can't see them spending crazy money on a replacement. If Villa don't go up, I really would love to see Grealish in this side.
5/18/2019 6:20:49 AM
Kelly go Bournemouth
5/18/2019 11:36:51 AM
lol welp
5/18/2019 12:09:48 PM
Sterling won the treble, And the Scousers won f--k all, Allez, Allez, AllezHe's top of the league,He's top of the leeeeeeeeague,Raheem Sterling,He's top of the leagueI might regret this in two weeks.
5/18/2019 3:13:18 PM
Only took slavery a bunch of oil money and the fact that you won the lottery because you are down the street from Manchester United. The fact that the team has to sign a Liverpool song and be disrespectful sums it up really. City is everything that is wrong with football and Pep is the biggest hypocrite in the game. Soulless club with classless fans. And I just saw this gem:
5/18/2019 6:07:46 PM
Sorry, what was that? I can't hear you from sixth place.
5/18/2019 6:16:05 PM
Can't hear you from all the way up with Liverpool as the two biggest clubs in England. Plus city fan and a tarheel fan on a ncsu message board. Hilarious.
5/18/2019 6:52:35 PM
Yea at least Wazza isn’t a cunt
5/18/2019 11:25:05 PM
Lol at these runs for the trophies - Rotherham, Burnley, Newport Co, Swansea, Brighton, Watford & Oxford, Fulham, Leicester, Burton Albion and Chelsea.
5/19/2019 5:21:30 AM
It's a shame we had to win the league cup final on penalties against much weaker sides this year and 2016
5/19/2019 12:36:12 PM
Man what a cunt heelfan is. First he only shows up at the end of each season and then disappears.wazza31 may be a trolling bastard but he shows up for the whole season. Goddamn you heelfan you made me defend wazza31.
5/20/2019 8:41:20 AM
If someone can find solid evidence that he switched allegiances to City from another team during his tww tenure, I would vote for someone else to remake thris thread. TEAR DOWN HIS STATUES.Reference from ribs

A quick search history pulls up 36 pro-Arsenal posts from 2009-2012. Take your pick.
5/20/2019 9:22:56 AM
^^Don't I deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for bringing Liverpool and United supporters together? Miraculously, people are even posting nice things about wazza31.[Edited on May 20, 2019 at 9:00 PM. Reason : Here's to you, Vincent Kompany! City loves you more than you will know]
5/20/2019 8:55:30 PM
Dude everyone hates your soulless club more than they hate pool or united. PSG is the same way. Good combo for you though. Two teams built on cheating and lies without a soul. [Edited on May 21, 2019 at 2:46 PM. Reason : a]
5/21/2019 2:46:25 PM
Really? I'm pretty sure Liverpool still ranks first among the clubs that Evertonians hate, as evidenced by these celebrations: https://twitter.com/GMS__Football/status/1127606156065689602And if any Liverpool fans despise City more than United, it's because they recognize that Manchester is officially blue and will be for the foreseeable future.
5/21/2019 8:29:32 PM
Can't sell out the emptyhad and thinks the city is blue. Have you even been to Manchester mate? Lmao.
5/22/2019 1:54:16 PM
I know of only one club in Manchester—City. There are rumors that a Sunday league club in Stretford was once a European giant. Sadly, like Leeds United, incompetent owners led them to ruin.
5/22/2019 9:50:36 PM
Mate.

5/23/2019 7:53:11 AM
lol this guy still trying to defend City? Most clubs in the premier league have their individual rivals -- Spurs vs. Arsenal, Liverpool vs. Everton, etc. I'm pretty sure every club in England is unified in their hatred of City though.
5/23/2019 10:15:48 AM
^I would say its more a hatred of both clubs from Manchester.
5/23/2019 11:55:29 AM
^^For what it's worth (not much), this 2018 poll from The Mirror doesn't even put City in the top five most hated teams in England. In fact, your beloved Tottenham scored higher than City.

Out of respect for the Europa League and Champions League festivities next week, I'll conclude my 2018/19 celebrations with this gem:
5/24/2019 11:13:00 PM
How fucked are Arsenal if they don't win todayCan't believe I'm actually about to root for Chelsea
5/29/2019 9:08:32 AM
they actually have a decent manager in charge. Doesn't take much to turn a squad around if you have a proper system in place.
5/29/2019 9:37:20 AM
Yeah, I am pulling for Chelsea tonight too
5/29/2019 1:20:06 PM
why would you root for Chelsea?[Edited on May 29, 2019 at 2:54 PM. Reason : in anything]
5/29/2019 2:54:06 PM
Vote for Pedro!
5/29/2019 4:17:19 PM

5/29/2019 4:19:06 PM
Got 'em! Going three goals down was just a set up for another breathtaking comeback.
5/29/2019 4:27:05 PM
I'm sure it's gut wrenching watching your beloved Arsenal get thrashed
5/29/2019 4:28:39 PM
Going to be YEARS in the wilderness.[Edited on May 29, 2019 at 4:29 PM. Reason : But you’ll never walk alone ]
5/29/2019 4:29:30 PM
^^This could be the ultimate week in the history of your Spurs fanhood.
5/29/2019 4:40:02 PM
In all seriousness I just don’t see how this gets better. Literally losing your best player outside of the front two on a free to Juventus. A terrible defense. A wasted #10 sitting on 250,000 wages. No money.United is a mess and Chelsea is losing their best and really only elite player so i guess other teams may be shit too?
5/29/2019 4:40:36 PM
I wouldn't be shocked to see Aubameyang start to kick up a bit of a fuss. He doesn't strike me as a player happy without CL.
5/29/2019 4:45:56 PM
Eeek
5/29/2019 4:47:00 PM
Going to be hard to watch Hazard play on another team
