Ideally we need Fried to go 6, he was fine once he settled in when he pitched Game 2 but the first 2 innings were rough. Need to set tone early and possibly score a couple in first inning to give him a leads. Then if we have a lead and depending where we are in their lineup Jackson/Matzek 7th and 8th. Will Smith to close it out in the 9th.Snitker needs to swap Ozzie and Eddie to get Eddie an extra AB and see if moving him has same effect Houston's move of Bregman had because Ozzie is struggling right now

Pinch me surely I am dreamingWhat a performance by Max I thought sure the Braves were going to be made to pay for them not checking the replay in 1st inningChampions!

goddamn Ernie sighting!Fuck yeah, Bravos. So great

That Soler HR AB was a thing of beauty. You could feel throughout the whole AB that it was going to determine the game, either way. I watched the whole AB 3 times. With Garcia's ridiculous, balk-filled windup, I've never been so gratified to see a guy tattoo one out of the yard like that.PS, he didn't check his swing, but f it

I know right, the only good thing now is that they won the division.Could you imagine if they had led the whole season and blew it at the end? I imagine that would suck even worse than this shit.

Ehh.

I don't think I can blame this performance on the bye. The Phillies out pitched and out hit the Braves from top to bottom.Starting pitching, aside from Kyle Wright, absolutely did not show up. I'll be curious if they try to sign a legit ace this offseason. Fried, Strider, Wright, Morton, and Soroka sounds great on paper but i just don't know. And holy hell that offense was just straight terrible. Td'A and Olson did their best, but it's really hard when 6-9 just became automatic outs. Harris will bounce back and Albies will shore up the 2nd base position.Big question marks will be LF and SS. Resign Duvall and Dansby? Doesn't sound very exciting, but may be the best options.I will say that it stung just a little less once the Dodgers choked again. ]

Phillies have gotten hot at right time, make no mistake its not a fluke that the Phillies won they along with the Mets were picked by all the experts to finish ahead of the Braves, and they have spent money to be in this position. Its no secret that 7 of the top 10 payrolls made postseason with all of the top 5 making it. As for Braves they had a great run last season and a great regular season. They have some issues to address biggest of which is what to do with Swanson. LF is a big hole and they will need to add bullpen arms (Matzek is already lost for next season and Minter could be in same boat) and at least 1 SP. If Swanson leaves which based on his post game comments and demeanor seems like a real possibility. Do the Braves attempt to sign one of the other 2 star SS that are FA or do they go with Grissom and spend big on an OF power bat if Swanson leaves. Some of the fanbase want Acuna Jr gone and hope they trade him. Only way I would trade him is for Ohtani or Trout which I don't see happening. The core is very much intact and they will compete for the division title with Mets and Phillies next season.

^ for sureI want him to be back to normal next year, which is possible with a normal offseason and not rehabing a torn ACL. But he definitely had a rough year which I think was because he came back too soon and he was not fully healed. Hopefully he doesn't have to have any cleanout surgeries and he can focus on coming into spring in full health and the power numbers return.

That World Series last year makes this sting a lot less .We have a lot of young talent locked up for the next several years. I'm excited about the future!

OH WE BACK, again
10/1/2023 5:56:03 PM
^Who do you want for the NLDS, redemption for last year with the Phillies or the Marlins a team the Braves have owned?I do want a 3 game Wild Card Series and I want heavy pitcher usage. I know MLB and myself are just hoping the Braves and Dodgers make the NLCS because that will be an epic series, but the playoffs so rarely gives us those matchups.
10/2/2023 8:48:54 AM
the better matchup for us is certainly the Marlins but I think getting to the NLCS will mean a rematch with the Phillies. My only hope is that we wouldn't see Wheeler and/or Nola until Game 3. Braves will have to win both at home to make it back for a game 5. Elder / bullpen games in Philly could get out of hand]
10/2/2023 2:41:27 PM
I don't think the Phillies are as hot as they were last season, actually think it may be the Marlins, but pitching is going to be an issue for them. Phillies will be tougher matchup for Braves but if the Braves offense stays alive in the time off it will be an easier task than last season. So with the NLDS scheduleGame 1 10/7/23 Strider - AtlantaGame 2 10/9/23 Fried - AtlantaGame 3 10/11/23 Elder/Bullpen - Philly/MiamiGame 4 (if necessary) 10/12/23 Strider - Philly/MiamiGame 5 (if necessary) 10/14/23 Fried/Bullpen - Atlanta

Kinda BS that MLS doesn’t reseed the divisional round.
10/4/2023 10:12:01 PM
Yes I am not a fan of seeding after Wild Card Round. I think MLB should reward the team with the best record in each league.I think how they seed the wild card round is fine, but after the wild card round the team with the worse regular season record gets the 1 seed. Houston and LA both get the easier matchups as 2 seeds. But you have to play the hand you are dealt and I know they are going to want to play better than they did last NLDS. I think we can all be thankful that we don't get to have the crappy ESPN announce crews for the LDS rounds. Eduardo Perez and ARod are both crappy analysts.

Well...
10/7/2023 9:06:08 PM
Holy shit what a sequence to end that game! Down 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th. Back to back innings with 2 run dingers and then an incredible 8-5-3 double play to seal the victory. First 8-5-3 double play in postseason history![Edited on October 9, 2023 at 10:55 PM. Reason : .]
10/9/2023 10:53:48 PM
nice
10/9/2023 11:17:51 PM
Hopefully this shifts momentum in Braves favor, or at least wakes the bats up. Wheeler was dominant through 5 innings and good the last 2 innings he pitched. Nola pitched well against the Marlins and has been his old self since All Star break, need the Elder/Smith-Sharver combo to do enough to keep Braves in game.
