Wow interesting weird coincidence bc the only people I've seen call 95% of the other movies "great" are people who complain about "women and white knight sjw's"

I really enjoyed Ant Man....didn't like Ant Man 2 nearly as much. Felt like the story was weak and it relied too much on comedy to be entertaining.

Put into my 2019 catch-up list.

^^^Yeah but that is kind of how a lot of of MCU properties are. The Ant-Man movies are meant to be funny and I think they did it well. They are trying to keep the movies family friendly. If I want dark and serious I'll go to the Netflix shows (RIP )So question for anyone who knows -- up until now in the MCU, every Kree we have seen has had blue skin, except for Korath. How come Jude Law and Mar-Vell have human white people skin? Are Kree with human colored skin just considered racial minorities? It was enough to where Cap Marvel had no qualms thinking she was Kree after having her memory erased. Also, when she first showed up on Earth and encountered the strip mall security guard, wouldn't she be a little intrigued as to why the dude looked exactly like a white Kree?
3/12/2019 1:26:19 PM
I think blue Kree are a minority, and are kind of treated like a pure-blooded royalty.
3/12/2019 2:11:30 PM
I'm just here to defend Ant-Man 2 as a good movie.
3/12/2019 2:17:20 PM
There were some blue kree in AOS that had streaks of white in them.
3/12/2019 4:53:26 PM
I thought Yondu from GotG was a Kree but I looked it up, looks like he was just enslaved by them. All the Kree that were in GotG and AoS have been blue though as far as I remember. And in the background of Cap Marvel when her and Jude Law were on the train thing going to see the AI.
3/12/2019 5:51:17 PM
^^ The white was make-up though right?
3/12/2019 7:44:31 PM
That main guys lady friend/sister or whatever in last season, I didn't think that was makeup.
3/12/2019 8:14:03 PM
man i'm a simpleton because I loved ant man II. Capt Marvel was a fine movie- just not awesome.

Saw this last night. Definitely didn't give me Wonder Woman feels but a very solid origin story. 8/10 would watch again. 9-year-old daughter also loved and talked about it all the way home.
3/13/2019 8:21:45 AM
Saw it today. I enjoyed it, despite my dislike of all-powerful heroes like superman, which I guess captain marvel is like the superman of the marvel universe? Also, why is the tesseract so picky? How did Carroll get unlimited powers from it when it exploded, yet the red skull touched it and was banished?
4/4/2019 3:48:15 PM
well the tesseract didn’t expload, the engine using power/knowledge from the tesseract exploded
4/4/2019 4:02:19 PM
The actual tessaract was orbiting earth at the time. And the only scientist that knows how to replicate that experimental engine that gave her the powers is dead. Kinda like how the only scientist who knew how to make Captain America is dead too.
4/4/2019 5:14:05 PM
WRT the Tesseract being picky, it's based on the Cosmic Cube from the comics. There are many different Cosmic Cubes, and at least two of them developed sentience.

Observation (that I'm sure someone else somewhere has mad too but this just came to me)...why is it that the only two major woman-led superhero movies are set in the past? Is it to put them in a time when women had it worse than they do today so the girl power trope can stand out more? It almost feels like they are ignoring the fact that women still haven't achieved true equality yet in today's world.Misty Knight is the most interesting character in any Marvel or DC media because she doesn't need super powers to be a professionally successful bad-ass in a patriarchal world.
4/7/2019 12:27:58 PM
Wonder woman sequel and Black Widow film will also be set in the past
4/7/2019 4:49:02 PM
Jessica Jones isn't set in the past. And there is certainly an added element to the fish-out-of-water trope when you take a woman and put her in a position of power in the past, with respect to Wonder Woman. That isn't quite as noticeable when you set it the scene in the 90's. I'm honestly still trying to figure out the value to setting Captain Marvel in the 90's, other than getting gen Xer's out to the theater. Unless there's a comic-book element that I'm missing, since I don't read comics. I feel like Carroll Danvers' story could be told from any modern decade, including the current one.
4/8/2019 8:08:28 AM
I think Captain Marvel was set in the past just out of necessity for fitting into the events unfolding in the greater MCU. If they had decided to make a Captain Marvel movie 3-5 years earlier, I doubt it would have been set in the past. It also makes more sense if they plan o having her go toe to toe with Thanos, it shouldn’t be some newbie that’s just coming into their powers, she needs to be an experienced warrior at this point.
4/8/2019 9:52:35 AM
^^The Jessica Jones series aren't so much about women's empowerment, at least not in such obvious ways like CapMarvel and WW. But it does reinforce that women need superpowers in order to take care of themselves (look at Trish's story ark throughout both seasons) and the noir style does make it feel older despite being set in the present.
4/12/2019 2:30:13 PM
wife and i went and watched capt marvel last night. Zachary Levi did a decent job imho
4/13/2019 2:42:08 PM
I get your joke. That’s all I have to say about that.
4/13/2019 9:10:13 PM
I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I expected, it's one of the better marvel movies even though most of the reviews I read weren't very good
4/20/2019 6:15:49 PM
Bae.
4/23/2019 1:22:39 PM
I cant figure out how i feel about her. Sometimes i look at her and find her beautiful. Sometime i see a girl that is super attractive to me in a, "she looks like a normal chick" kinda way. And then sometimes i see her and dont find her that attractive at all.
4/24/2019 12:16:43 AM

4/24/2019 7:46:09 AM

4/24/2019 8:07:55 AM
I came here only to post - did anyone else get turned off by her gait during the scenes where she's running? Made her look suuuuuuuuper nonathletic considering her character.
4/25/2019 10:50:08 AM
sucks this movie won't be available to stream before I go see Endgame
4/25/2019 11:35:32 AM
watched this last night. Thought this movie would have been better without Brie. Her facial expressions and totally out shape ass/body lost it for me.
5/28/2019 9:39:28 PM
lol ok bud
5/29/2019 11:32:30 AM
