I'm calling moral victory on this one, I thought it was absolutely huge to revive our passing game there towards the end and get our new receivers some rhythm and confidence even with the last drive being kind of underneath stuff

I mean, the defense was absolute dog shit. The only thing that stopped Atlanta was their own shitty coaching staff getting conservative. I definitely feel better with what we managed in the last few minutes but I'm seriously fucking tired of our supposed "defensive minded" coach constantly getting styled on by division rivals. These are the teams and offenses we know best but we looked totally lost out there for 3+ quarters. Maybe they just forgot to gameplan for Ridley.

DLine was awful, I too don't think we blitzed very often. I know we are 2 games in but Peppers has appeared to hit the age wall, no get off speed and hardly no pressure on the 21 snaps he played. Kuechly had an uncharacteristically bad game for him.

OLine held up reasonably well for what they had, Cam had some pressure and one sack was because he held on to the ball to long. Van Roten is easily our weakest link. While I hate the early bye I think it may help our offense get more in sync.

And Fuck the NFL for giving us two opponents in a row who played the previous Thursday.

Pass rush was non existent except for a few plays. Getting TD back should help some with the blitz packages, but things are looking pretty bleak after that. Peppers has slowed down considerably, and Addison has never been consistent. Short can't rush the passer by himself.

Maybe we should let Obada get some reps on obvious passing downs to see what he could do.

I will say one encouraging take away from the defense is Julio Jones didn't really hurt us. Bradberry basically held serve against him which is about all you can hope for. You would think, in a game where they were gashing us for big runs and we weren't getting to Ryan, he would have torched us for a long touchdown or two as has happened in the past. The fact that he didn't gives me hope against AJ Green and the rest of that Bengals offense this week.

We're catching a break with Mixon out, their other other runners aren't nearly as dynamic so look for a big bounce back game from the run defense. If Bradberry can do to AJ Green what he did to Jones, this could be a dominating defensive performance.
