yep. dug both songs. The Father John Misty album has really grown on me a lot. I enjoy that pretty much from start to finish. Also been listening to this s/t album by a band called Moaning today. Kind of some sort of post-punk, noise, shoegaze project.

I can’t stop listening the the Snail Mail and Parquet Court albums
6/11/2018 3:58:11 PM
I'm really digging the new Courtney Barnett & Father John albums, and really into the Parkay Quart[s/z]I haven't listened to it enough, but the new Breeders seems pretty cool too.[Edited on June 11, 2018 at 4:48 PM. Reason : ]

6/11/2018 4:44:07 PM
the last 3 minutes of the new deafheaven song 'canary yellow' are so fucking good
6/12/2018 11:49:08 AM
just now giving a first listen to the Flasher album and it’s quite good
6/12/2018 2:22:43 PM
the new father john misty is a grower and it has definitely grown over many listens now the past couple of weeks. i'd put it behind honey bear in album ranking, but it's a very good record.
6/12/2018 9:47:12 PM
^pretty much my exact sentiments.[Edited on June 13, 2018 at 8:52 AM. Reason : ]

love the new Parquet Courts. basically the only thing I've been listening to. need to give FJM a few spins....
6/14/2018 4:07:49 PM
If these first 2 deafheaven tracks are an indication of what the rest of the new album is like, this is looking like album of the year material for me.
6/18/2018 11:10:53 AM
^ same. i've been trying to temper my excitement but it's definitely my most anticipated so far this year
6/18/2018 12:15:34 PM
Agreed, love these first two
6/18/2018 2:37:20 PM
late to the party, but "canary yellow", god damn.
6/26/2018 10:45:43 PM
New deafheaven streaming at npr. It’s excellent
7/5/2018 2:15:29 PM
yep. got 3 full streams in today and I really, really like it. I've seen mixed reviews on the track with chelsea wolfe but i absolutely loved that track. The album doesn't feel quite as cohesive as sunbather and new bermuda did, but it makes up for that by being their most ambitious and uncompromising album imo. A lot to digest here but no disappointment so far.
7/5/2018 2:46:41 PM
I've been listening to it in the background at work today. So far, of the new tracks, Glint really caught my attention. Great last three minutes similar to canary yellow
7/5/2018 4:10:07 PM
Glint was definitely a highlight.

CalledToArms, I feel like your musical taste is constantly evolving and I'm saying that as someone who can't seem to evolve their taste anymore. I'm stuck listening to pop or dream pop nearly all the time. Also, I listened to Post Malone recently and felt weird but not bad about it. I'm not sure what's happening to me.
7/7/2018 12:16:55 AM
Honestly, I just spend a lot (most likely too much) of time hunting down new music and listening to it. It's almost equal part hobby to the actual entertainment side of it. Ultimately I find lots of things I love and it exposes me to a lot of things I might not have found passively which is what makes it worth it to me. However, it also of course means I spend plenty of time listening to albums i ultimately do not like along the way and I take time to write notes on the albums I listen to and which ones to come back to etc. I find the payoff to be worth it, other people might not. If you're still getting enjoyment out of mainly pop and dream pop, there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

I’m a SiriusXM subscriber and have heard lots of bands for the first time on XMU and their blog radio/special showsthey are as guilty as most radio stations are of wearing out certain songs during their regular shows, but the blog radio shows are excellent
7/10/2018 1:06:11 PM
New Deafheaven is so damn good. Can’t wait to hear this stuff at the cradle on Thursday.

Damn, an amac884 sighting!I actually dig the new hopesfall album. I wasn't sure what to expect sound-wise but it's a solid album. My main complaint is that it kind of sounds a little same-y over the course of the whole album. However, my favorite hopesfall stuff is still The Satellite Years and No Wings to Speak of era. But post that era, this is analogous with Magnetic North in quality imo. What did you think of it?Also, would love to hear what you think of the Vein album. Seems to be getting mostly positive reviews, but I've had a few people I thought would love it not be able to get into it at all.

Just calling out Saba’s Care For Me, since I haven’t seen it mentioned.
8/1/2018 10:19:49 PM
Hate to break up the dream pop circle jerk. Eminem's new album is a new benchmark
8/31/2018 10:01:28 PM
New Fucked Up is really good. Lots of genre hopping but they really nail it.
10/7/2018 9:04:53 PM
new Swearin’ rules, tooMerge is here forever, motherfuckers
10/7/2018 10:55:09 PM
^^^ I'm afraid that I beat you to it, since Saba's album is hip hop, too.
10/8/2018 11:10:06 AM
Really really like this new Deerhunter single. New album in January. Can’t wait. Definitely one of my favorite bands.

mehhaven’t dug anything she’s done in years
12/2/2018 12:37:59 PM
anybody listen to Doug Paisley? I'd heard his name, but I dismissed him because I confused him with the shitty faux country singer Brad Paisley. But I heard an interview with him on NPR yesterday, and he seemed interesting, kinda John Prine-y. I'm going to have to give his new album a go.
