Markell can’t be so much of a help to this team.

He's the team's facilitator, creator, best defender, and pace guy.

There's a reason it looks like we can't get any shots closer to the basket than ten feet out, and that's because no one on the floor for us knows how to create opportunities for other players on the offense.

With Markel this team is top half of the ACC. Without him, we go 0-fer and it's not even close. We lose every game by 20-30

i disagree that we're a top half team with him. obviously we're better with him...but still think we're a bottom half team regardless.

Yeah we weren't a top half of the ACC team with Johnson. But we weren't going to get blown out every game with him. He is pretty clearly the best point guard on the team (and really the only one who should be seeing major minutes in the ACC this year.)

I personally don't expect to win many more games this season without him. Like 12 wins would be nice.

In addition to being the best PG he's the most important player for KK's style of play, on both sides of the ball.

I don't know if we're top half ACC with him but it would have been nice to find out.

I would have said 8-10 with Markell, now 4-14 without.

maaybe keatts can only coach one way so that wouldn't be fair. he might be really good at coaching that one way so we need to wait until year 3 to start criticizing him for not being able to coach that one way.

The bottom of the acc (which includes us) is pretty bad. So yeah, if we’re losing by 20 to them that’s not encouraging. But in general I don’t think we need to be reading too much into this year. Total rebuild.

^^^ Don't be too surprised. Wake and BC are a better team at the moment. The only team I think we're slightly better than is Pitt. Markell was the lynchpin of this team, it's no coicidence that our two best wins are with him and all our blow out loses are without him.

whoa whoa whoa... This dude is coaching with a rag tag group of Gott recruits and grad transfers. There isn't ANY reason to question the hire until he gets his own recruits in here even if he goes 0 fer in the ACC.

I still think he is the guy and we have bigtime talent issue (he has even mentioned as much in interviews).

Markell is the difference between going winless in the ACC and a final four run.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We win last night going away with Markell in the lineup.

A win against Duke would be huuuuuge, but I think we don't stand a chance after the last month of games.

^^maybe I'm giving Justin too much credit but I think he's expanding on towers strawman that Markell would have single handedly won the game for is last night
