^^I'm actually surprised that there are enough trees left in Malibu to burn to such an extent. But if course all I see of Malibu is what is in movies and shows and such. Never been there.

Surely there are some Forestry grads on this thing that still lurk. One of them can chime in.

^^ this is the area that burned, but about a month ago. The pier in picture is the Malibu pier. There are a lot of small trees and grass all over the mountains.

y'all know this is the government shooting lasers (DEW - Direct Energy Weapons), right?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhHOMU-IhHAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2q7nN0JYWEit is all to make a green corridor (or a railway line).

Smoke is literally inside my home. Shit’s bad.

^open up a window or something.

It's weird that air can get inside your home.
11/16/2018 7:08:40 PM
Last year there was a day that was worse because of the Napa fires, but this has lasted basically all week and it's gotten almost as bad. Sucks, but I can't imagine what it's like up near Chico or even just Sacramento.

Let me know if you need a place to go farther south. We went up to Freemont last year when the air was too hard to handle here, now we're right in between two fires but so far the air is mostly unaffected by me.
11/17/2018 2:38:15 AM
How would you affect the air anyway?

^^I spent all day raking the leaves in my non-existent yard, but when the smoke and fire didn’t go away, we drove down to SLO/Pismo and now I can breathe and do math again. Thanks tho[Edited on November 18, 2018 at 11:11 AM. Reason : Can’t spell to gud]

SLO has been a popular destination this week.

These forest fires could be prevented if people raked the forests more often.https://news.vice.com/en_us/article/d3b77y/finland-trump-california-wildfires-raking-niinisto

they aren't "forrest" fires
11/19/2018 10:27:35 AM
Burns happen. They always have and they always will. Suggesting that climate change is causing these burns (or exacerbating them) is almost as absurd as Trump's raking idea.Controlled burns should be happening but I understand the politics of why they can't.And for the record, I'm not a climate change denier. I believe it is happening. But you can't blame everything bad that mother nature throws at us on climate change. Forest fires? Climate change! Hurricanes? Climate change!Death of the Great Barrier Reef? Okay, I'll give you that one.

but climate change is impacting forest fires, even if your "feel facts" say it doesn't

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-californias-wildfires-are-so-destructive-in-5-charts/And yet the only thing that article really blames on climate change are higher temperatures. It's tries to pin the droughts on AGW as well, but that's difficult to do when historically speaking these droughts aren't unusually severe.
