Those aren't heroes, those are white nationalist racists imposing the patriarchy and oppressive capitalism on the poor people of France. Right, comrades?
6/6/2017 3:46:04 PM
Actually, when they came back home, black folks still didn't have equal rights as them white guys on that beach. So....kinda.

white trannies did.

No, white trannies couldn't marry straight people, so they were oppressed. Please don't trivialize the oppression of others, it really shows your cis-white-fragility and triggers me and TWW is a safe space.
6/7/2017 2:02:11 PM
trannies can't be straight? you don't know how this works at all. also, what you're saying doesn't make the fact that black folks didn't have equal rights at the time untrue. your fragility is showing. also, I'm not white.
6/7/2017 3:13:20 PM

no, I just assumed your fragility.

Am Soldier. Can confirm. The daily raping is emotionally exhausting. I mean, do I really HAVE to rape on a regular basis? Seems like overkill. I joined to commit atrocities, but now that all the good opportunities are drying up, it might be time to get out and just do a PTSD fueled killing spree or two.
6/8/2017 4:48:57 PM
seems legit.

Why don't you consider loggers and fishermen to be bigger heroes than servicemen? https://www.fool.com/investing/2017/02/27/5-years-from-now-youll-wish-you-grabbed-these-stoc.aspxThey are more dangerous and providing us with more.

what do stock market picks have to do with it, how are we supposed to dispute that?
10/20/2017 12:07:43 PM
Also, those numbers are going to be skewed because they look at specific jobs in an industry.Sure loggers might have a fatality rate of X, but that doesn't mean it's the rate of the logging industry as a whole ie including the office workers, maintenance people, truck drivers, etc. Military rate is military as a whole if you break that down by job, you'd see a much higher fatality rate among certain groups like infantry or special operations
10/20/2017 12:21:49 PM
does BLS even track military statistics?
10/20/2017 12:31:32 PM
Loggers and Fishermen? They knew what they were signing up for.

Even if I were to accept the adoration of soldiers, I can't begin to get the fascination with "gold star families". What did they do? Its not like they gave their kid away to service. Their kid made the choice, not them. Its sad that they lost their child but how are they better/different than anyone who has lost a child to anything? We turn these people like Khan into celebrities and give them political power to speak at conventions. Meanwhile, mothers who lose their children to other types of gang violence or essentially ignored. Also, dodging the draft is probably the one thing I respect about Trump. John Mccain thinks he's hot shit just because he helped murder some Viet Cong and got punished for it. [Edited on October 24, 2017 at 2:59 AM. Reason : the one thing i respect about trump]
10/24/2017 2:57:45 AM
You think it’s ok to dodge the draft and then use the military as a crutch to shield from criticism? Speaks to your moral compass really more than anything else.
10/24/2017 7:58:55 AM
and you think dropping chemical weapons on poor people on the other side of the world just to protect corporate profits is better. That really speaks to your moral compass. The real heroes were the ones who refused to fight an unjust, inhumane war.
10/24/2017 10:39:27 AM
I do? I’ve been outspokenly against imperialistic wars on here. That said I simply refuse to believe someone can be so ignorant as to believe Trump was taking a principled stand when he got his deferments. That is just lunacy..
10/24/2017 11:12:02 AM
You have a point. Trump is certainly no Ali, but hes still better in that regard than people who went. In everyday life, I consider non-murderers to be better people than murderers regardless of weather or not their deterrence from killing people is "principled or not". For a lot of people, its simply fear of being killed or caught. Dodging the war wasnt just the right thing to do, it was also smart(self preservation). Many of those who werent killed or wounded came back with sever emotional trauma and ptsd. Also, most soldiers are the young amd vulnerable who dont have full access to the information needed to understand the motivations and risks associated with war.[Edited on October 24, 2017 at 11:36 AM. 10/24/2017 12:07:45 PM
Despite his eventual role as SoS in which he propogated same old policy, I have a ton of respect for a guy like John Kerry who was an idealistic young man who went to war, opened his eyes to what was going on and protested against it afterwards.Far more than a guy like Trump was was scared and wanted to sleep around because of daddy’s money.

^ that's fucked up.so there is no more freedom of speech in the US anymore?so when people say they are proud of and thankful for ALL those who have served and are serving, do they not realize that many have committed war crimes?soldiers are considered sacred and a red line, no one can dismiss or insult them.but i guess that's not unique to the US, and the same attitudes prevail in other countries.

Alright, look, there are shitty people who have worn a U.S. military uniform, and putting one on does not automatically make you a hero. But this:
2/3/2018 4:49:44 PM
^ right. Also, that guy is a fucking moron on multiple levels.
2/3/2018 5:40:42 PM
They need to stop signing up. That is the best way to limit the atrocities because the penalty for disobeying orders is high. The soldiers are the enablers. Its an out of control gang at this point and they prey on the young, desperate, vulnerable individuals in our population. I think thats part of what he was trying to get across. Anyone in any job can do harm but its almost part of the job description when you are joining the military. He was saying that intellectuals understand this and don't sign up but I think he was missing the desperation aspect and it was definitely in bad taste. Like I said before, I feel sorry for the soldiers and see them as victims. I don't put the blame on them. [Edited on February 3, 2018 at 5:48 PM. Reason : doesen't make them heroes either. people dont understand the word. its used on nassar victims too]

I've seen at least a few different videos of a vet being denied a discount at eating establishments and another customer coming to their defense and paying for the meal. All of them were staged fakery.I have some veteran friends who say they didn't fight for a discount on a burger, and others who think every soldier deserves the hero treatment always.
