Looks very similar to Empire.

This universe has bases, and those bases have to get attacked.

This universe has star ships, and those have to fight watch other.

Walkers again, instead of Snow its white crystal and red stuff. Leia's at a base that gets attacked. Ren busts into it just like Vader did.

I need to be wrong.

This universe has people, and those people talk to each other.

This universe has rocks, and those rocks just sit there doing nothing

Exactly like Empire Strikes Back

Basically the battle of hoth all over again.

Taking over planets would end up being repetitive in star wars but part of me is seeing them relying on similar beats again like JJ with TFA

How could Rey possibly be a Kenobi? There's no way she could be Obi Wan's daughter. Anakin was more than half Obi Wan's age in 1-3. In TFA, Kylo appears to be a peer of Rey, and he his Anakin's grandson.

So you're telling me that Obi Wan had a son or a daughter that lived out their life in secrecy and was not known to anyone for this long? I guess it's possible, but potentially canon-stretching.

Perhaps they are taking a page from the GRRM playbook. Perhaps she's the daughter of some long-forgotten space prostitute on Tatooine that Obi Wan frequented.

More likely, is that the simple explanation is the best - she's Luke's. He had her shipped off at an early age fearing what she could become. Since Kylo wasn't his, he couldn't do that for him, so he did the best he could and tried to train him.

If there is anybody out there I trust with Star Wars canon, it's Frosh. He's the one that suggested it, unless he was being facetious.

No one should be surprised.

And Rey doesn't have to be the daughter of anyone significant. The Force isn't specifically hereditary as far as any movie has shown. If she is, fine, but no need to have huge arguments over it.

I've posted my crackpot theory before, but to summarize: I didn't say Rey was Obi-Wan's daughter, I just said she was a Kenobi. I believe she's the reincarnation of Obi-Wan. He took the idea of merging with the Living Force further than Qui-Gon was able to.

Remember how at the end of Return of the Jedi, the Force ghosts of Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin manifested and looked approvingly on Luke & company? You think those fools just dissipated back into the Force and were never heard from again? We're gonna hear about Obi-Wan in The Last Jedi, I bet.

Rey's parentage doesn't really matter in the same way Anakin's didn't. You think anyone's out there giving a shit about a Shmi Skywalker? Your boy Anakin ain't even have a father. What makes you think Rey needs one? The latest trailer showing Luke's fear of Rey's power is another point in favor of my idea, 'cause Anakin's immaculately conceived little ass had the strongest Force attunement Qui-Gon had ever seen.

I don't think we'll be hearing much about Yoda, because that dude passed after a long life and was ready to go. But Obi-Wan died as part of a plan and kept working, and I don't think he was done at the end of ROTJ. I think Obi-Wan had something to do with Luke's new order, and part of him being reborn into Rey is part of that. I think Luke took off after Kylo Ren's betrayal because he knew he wasn't going to be up to the task of managing whatever the hell she was to become. If his order had succeeded, if he had been able to train Kylo, then yeah, he probably could've finished what Obi-Wan started about the time his power reborn as Rey swung back around. But Luke's out of his depth, baby.

Rey's a Kenobi. Who cares who her mom or dad is? She's Obi-Wan reborn. Consider: When she had her vision on Takodana, she heard Obi-Wan's voice. She lived that desert hermit life like Obi-Wan. She dresses like Obi-Wan. She even talks like Obi-Wan.

Because she basically is Obi-Wan.

The. Force. Is. Hereditary. Endofstory.

Rey also heard Yoda's and Luke's voice in the vision. She was raised like Luke and Obi-Wan in a desert because someone left her there, and JJ wanted to have those themes parallel the original movie. She is no Obi-Wan incarnate. There is no evidence that is specific to that theory.

I am not saying the Force cannot come into someone that isn't related to a force user.

Every incarnation of Starwars content has always confirmed that if the force was in your family, you have it or have a higher chance of having it.

Once its in a family line, its in the family line.

So if she has it someone in her family probably had it or shes the first. But not because she is Obiwan reborn/reincarnate. Just say you think she is his daughter.

I did not say the Force is not at all hereditary. I said it is not specifically hereditary. Meaning a child can inherit it without having Force sensitive parents. No source as far as I'm aware has said you have to be the child of someone force sensitive to be so yourself (I've done zero reading into the extended universe, but as far as I'm aware none of it is canon).

It was against the rules for Jedi to have offspring, wasn't it? Obviously not all force users became Jedi but without the Jedi having kids, the supply of Jedi younglings had to keep coming from somewhere. You know, until the guy who did knock someone up murdered all of them.

That's what you get with abstinence-only education.

She’s a Jinn. Homeboy did not care about Jedi laws.

Qui-Gon Jinn Knocked up Schmi and that offspring is one of Rey’s parents.

You guys make sense but theres no way they are going from the plot checkers of TFA to the chess you guys are talking about. Obi wan? Forget about it.

Most likely Rey since thats who he was talking to after seeing her train and thats who was there to kill everyone in her dark vision when she saw the knights of ren. Should be obvious.

We know Kylo didn't kill everyone becausse he wasn't full blown dark until he killed his dad. Kylo reaching out to Rey hints on Rey struggling with the darkness. Someone probably wiped her and hid her on Jakku.

So Luke had felt that power twice ever, once just now from Rey, and once previously with Rey. Got it.

He was talking to Rey about Kylo. "It didn't scare me enough then, it does now." He was plenty scared of facing Vader and the Emperor, this is about his failings with his nephew and not wanting to go through that again.

when kylo faced her in tfa, he was surprised that she was more powerful than she knew, she overpowered him.

^^I don't think you can say Luke underestimated how scary facing the Emperor would be

^She was a little girl when she was dropped on Jakku. Even Vader couldn't do that kind of thing when he was 6.

Rewatching the prequels. Forgot just how damn cute Natalie P was in these movies

Also, there’s a theory that suggests Rey wasn’t left on Jakku but was born there and her parents just flat out left her there. Meaning she’s a complete nobody.
