What's lost in this line of thinking is that in reality 90% of power 6 fanbases don't give a fuck about baseball. Even big-time SEC baseball schools have large but niche followings. Avent can afford to be solid without 'ships here and in most other places. packboozie, you're in that other 10% , which is great and why you're frustrated.

Yeah, apparently he played there some in fall practice and was good there. Probably more of an experiment than a sign of things to come.

I didn't watch any of the series, but from what I've gathered:

-Brown didn't play at all. Avent was resting his arm as a precautionary deal
-Dunand looked pretty shaky at the plate, but the freshman Miller (I think?) looked fantastic
-Adler was really good on the mound (started 1st game). Nasty splitter
-New pitcher Gauthier was impressive. Came in for relief in the 2nd game and struck out 5-6 in a row

As frustrating as its been to see Avent lose in 5-ish ACC-title games, and have some of the close calls in the NCAA's that have cut runs short, State doesn't put much into baseball in terms of administration support compared to the amount of backing other bigger programs have. I'm hoping guys like Rodon and Turner will make some pretty sizable donations back to the program after their first big contract.

Just the fact that we've made that many title games and postseasons makes him the best coach we've had in any sport in recent memory. We're frequently ranked, produce major league talent, and when we're not we're still giving the top teams a good fight.

^They are both doing a great job but nearly every ACC school has swimming when 6 teams have wrestling. Holloway is winning ACC titles with 2 teams. #1 in the country in Men, #7 in Women and just took down 9 time defending champs UVA.

Ill take it- we won both opening series of the year, with some impressive performances from some of the new pitching.

This Order is better than last year, even without Cialis Jr. in the 3 spot anymore. Top to bottom, guys can mash, and we got loads of speed.

If some of this young pitching can turn out this year, we will hopefully be hosting another regional.

Hoops is right, our lineup is loaded from top to bottom. Lots of great hitters, Tons of Speed, and just enough power. Josh McClain might be one of the best contact hitters in the ACC, and he's batting in the 9th spot.

Hopefully we can find a couple more solid starters behind Brown and Adler. Not sure who our closer is either, but seems like we've got some options there. Just please no Dejeanus or Johnny Piedmonte in clutch situations. Poor guys just get abused

Should have tied it at 5 on a wild pitch. Pitcher tags runner on the shoulder and hes called out when he was clearly safe. We woulda still had runners on 2nd and 3rd and that pitcher was really struggling
