^pretty sure i saw them on a shared bill back in the day. might have been with hot rod circuit?

I was listening to Designing a Nervous Breakdown the other day... some of it is kind of cheesy but it's held up surprisingly well. they played at the old Kings right before they broke up, it ruled.
5/26/2017 3:14:52 PM
^i was at that show too. they were realllly drunk if i remember correctly (if i recall, the lead singer was playing guitar with a jack daniels bottle by the end). the aforementioned show at the ritz was much better.

6/22/2017 2:21:31 PM

Pure power metal cheese. No shame in my game. Crank it!]

the new war on drugs song "holding on" is really well done. the production is super crisp and there are some really intricate transitions.

Man i love her, but this song was just ok to me. Don't get me wrong, I like it. But it seems like something i will enjoy on the album more than as an individual track - especially as the first song to hear off of one of my most highly anticipated albums this year.
6/30/2017 12:15:28 PM
Have you seen the outfit she is wearing on the album art for the new stuff? Dear Lord.
6/30/2017 1:35:36 PM
new arcade fire is looking to be super dance-able. grooving to this new track.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dx4IAD1NLo

give everything now at least 3 all the way through listens before forming an opinion. it's a grower.
7/26/2017 9:44:55 PM
the backlash to it has been one of the least surprising things ever. it's a fine album. I'd love to read one review that doesn't mention the promo that came before it, though
7/28/2017 1:01:13 PM
yeah these songs will be a ton of fun to see live.
7/28/2017 6:49:42 PM
i mean it's ok to me. gave it a couple spins and it didn't do much for me. I don't have much negative to say about them, theyve just never quite been my thing as a whole, despite liking bits and pieces of the first 3.
7/28/2017 9:42:22 PM
this is tremendous.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZFu361SZeg

Creature Comfort has been in heavy, heavy rotation for me. I dig it. Some other songs are instantly forgettable. Someone on AV Club mentioned:If Arcade Fire had somehow released the best works off Reflektor with the best works of Everything Now the album would have rivaled Funeral in their catalogue but for completely different reasons. Make this playlist:1) Everything Now2) Reflektor3) Here Comes the Night Time4) Electric Blue5) Afterlife6) Put Your Money On Me7) We Exist8) Creature Comfort9) It's Never Over10) Porno11) We Don't Deserve Love12) SupersymmetryYea, that's a classic.
8/11/2017 3:22:08 PM
it'd be good, but it wouldn't touch FuneralFuneral is a perfect albumEverything Now is a really, really good song. always liked it, but something clicked recently for me.[Edited on August 11, 2017 at 3:27 PM. Reason : .]
8/11/2017 3:25:40 PM
^^good playlist. those are pretty much the only reflektor and everything now songs they seem to be playing live.i made this playlist a few weeks ago. picked my favorite 3 songs from each of their 5 albums and arranged them in order of how i'd want to see them live.https://open.spotify.com/user/scubasheteve/playlist/74naTZEWxq03Tk3BWiTvjF
8/11/2017 6:03:12 PM
I really like Everything Now (the song and music video). Am I just some old dude trying to stick up for a band past it's prime? I don't think so. I mean I got tired of Pearl Jam after Vitalogy and loathed Weezer.
8/12/2017 11:00:12 PM
That's a shame, cause the Jack Iron-era Pearl Jam (Mirrorball/No Code/Yield) is the best.
8/15/2017 3:03:20 PM
listened earlier and the album is getting better with each listen
8/15/2017 3:10:44 PM
the song Alvvays put out earlier today ruuuules
8/17/2017 1:36:58 PM
agreed. the latest LCD Soundsystem single grew on me a lot too.
8/17/2017 5:12:10 PM
^^i don't know if i like it as much as the first two singles. "in undertow" is close to my favorite song to come out this year. looking forward to the album for sure.still feeling out this new LCD song...
8/17/2017 7:44:10 PM
the next few weeks of releases are ridiculous: grizzly bear, LCD, the national, alvvays...
8/17/2017 7:48:28 PM
the new one took a listen and a half to supplant "In Undertow", and I absolutely love "In Undertow"
8/17/2017 9:04:28 PM
I'm more of an Undertow man myself.
8/17/2017 10:53:21 PM
Brand New released an album last night/todayprobably not most peoples musical preference but it has been 8 years since the last album
8/18/2017 9:45:31 AM
the single they released last year was really damn good, and the bastards didn't even play it when I saw them with Modest Mouse last summer
8/18/2017 11:16:23 AM
none of the three are on this release
8/18/2017 11:29:58 AM

8/18/2017 2:47:48 PM
