Clemson AND Louisville at home? This is definitely our yearto struggle for .500 again]
1/24/2017 2:11:30 PM
Yeah not crazy about opening against FSU in ACC play but I'll take that any day of the week over some of the alternatives. Pitt is a decent matchup across divisions, glad we don't have to play VT or Miami.[Edited on January 24, 2017 at 2:13 PM. Reason : we're not getting clearly boned this year.]
1/24/2017 2:12:39 PM
4 of last 6 on the road
1/24/2017 2:13:02 PM
^ I'll take a late road stretch at WFU and BC rather than a cluster of FSU, Clemson, Louisville back to back any day.
1/24/2017 2:14:25 PM
will open 0-3 but defeat FSU on a DSJ dunk
1/24/2017 2:14:44 PM
UNC will have over 2 weeks to prepare for the game at State (at Pitt Nov. 9th, then hosts Western Carolina the 18th)
1/24/2017 2:20:33 PM
Looks like 6-6 again to me at best.
1/24/2017 2:35:58 PM
Louisville is playing Kent St and Murray St the two weeks before our short week game. We'll still win though
1/24/2017 2:43:12 PM
Short week before Louisville hurts. Bye week before @ND isn't exactly ideal, would prefer it before the Clemson game. Syracuse sandwiched between @FSU and Louisville is tough too. Would be nice to close-out the season winning those last 3 games that all seem winnable on paper at this point.
1/24/2017 3:03:53 PM
knew our OL was solid this past year. didn't realize the stats were this impressive though.
1/24/2017 3:23:37 PM
"Buy season tickets. There's 2 opponents out of 6 at Carter-Finley you give a rat's ass about."
1/24/2017 7:56:24 PM
12-0
1/25/2017 7:37:34 AM
OL is fairly solid/experienced, Adams is a future NFL starter. Will be interesting to see how we hold up losing Scelfo though, and will be important we stay healthy. Hard not to appreciate how much better our OL and DL have been getting under Doeren.
1/25/2017 9:03:29 AM
^With that being said, I'm worried that even if Doeren does have a solid year and stay around a few more seasons, bigger programs will certainly pay attention to what Nielsen and Ledford are doing here. Ledford had great OL's at App State and in one year turned out a really nice OL for us. Another good year with a dominant OL and DL and those 2 will get some looks, Nielsen is already getting plenty of looks.
1/26/2017 9:07:15 AM
when will we play Duke again? they should make it so we are at least playing every other year or something. are there any rules stopping us from scheduling Duke on our own?
1/26/2017 9:36:54 AM
1/26/2017 9:41:46 AM
I know there has been a push to actually make Duke a yearly OOC game like some other teams have started doing, but I'm not sure how serious those discussions were. Would be weird playing Duke and it not counting towards conference record.
1/26/2017 10:02:26 AM
^ Better than not playing Duke IMO

DL Coach Ryan Nielsen is apparently interviewing with the New Orleans Saints for an assistant position.
2/3/2017 12:13:19 PM
^looks like he's goneTexas Tech asst Kevin Patrick incoming. We'll see with Patrick, but this makes me much morning worried about our just completed D-line recruiting class [Edited on February 7, 2017 at 4:29 PM. Reason : Patrick]
2/7/2017 4:28:01 PM
Cool we just hired an assistant for our defense from one of the worst defenses in the nation. DD employing some Gott level strategy here. WTF?
2/7/2017 4:46:17 PM
Jesus relax, hes only been there for a year and is young in general.Full profile, minus last year:http://www.texastech.com/coaches.aspx?rc=709[Edited on February 7, 2017 at 4:56 PM. Reason : Profile ]
2/7/2017 4:52:59 PM
for ^^, from that link above...if you're gonna shit on him for Texas Tech's defense, might as well give him credit for his other coaching stops:
2/7/2017 5:46:37 PM
4 4 stars...thats impressive no matter what college he was coaching at...Bring that mindset on big boy
2/7/2017 6:56:23 PM
Sounds like he wont be here long. Boom, hes off to greener pastures or bust & everyone gets fired.
2/8/2017 11:05:47 AM
^That's how every position coach is. Trying to work their way up and gain more responsibility. He worked his way up from coaching just DE's, to DT's, to the entire DL. So I think he could be content for a while with something like we did for Nielsen where we make him DL Coach and Running Game Coordinator. He'll be here for at least 2-3 years as long as Doeren is here and still wants him here.It was obvious that Nielsen was going to get bigger and better offers each year, I think Ledford will be one that garners a ton of attention if we have another stout OL performance this season.
2/9/2017 8:55:41 AM
Ya, but how much of that was ledford and how much was him arriving when we had a pretty good/established O-line already? I think your right b/c of his NFL pedigree though.

http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/nc-state/article132741014.htmlThe Rock is a game changer
2/15/2017 8:26:00 AM
^^He had top 10 OL's at App State and then he comes here and our OL takes a huge jump despite losing it's best player(Thuney) and replacing another starter(albeit with a great grad transfer). They'll see 2 top 10 OLs, then the improvement in our OL rankings from the year before him to his first year. Now he's returning 4 starters and we have back-ups with starter experience, so if we can find a C and stay fairly healthy, no reason to think he won't just pad his resume again this season.
2/15/2017 8:54:29 AM
LETS START THIS MOTHERFUCKING HYPE MACHINE!~!!!!
2/23/2017 2:28:41 PM
8-4 with a win over either Clemson, FSU, or UL, then that will be a good season. 10 wins is a little too optimistic. I mean if we still had Dayes with this team, I'd say 8-9 wins is a really solid possibility. Little worried our offense is going to come out flat against USC in week 1 trying to break in a new running game and their D is quite good. Beating USC in that first game is going to be really important.
2/23/2017 2:35:16 PM
i'd sign up for 8-4 right now.
2/23/2017 2:55:11 PM
14-0 or bust.
2/23/2017 3:29:11 PM
6-6 its like you guys never learn
2/23/2017 3:52:38 PM
^ we forfeiting our bowl game on general principle eh??
2/23/2017 4:03:24 PM
2/23/2017 4:29:33 PM
^^pretty obvious that 4-5 posts above yours were about the regular season
2/23/2017 5:48:00 PM
We will be fine without Dayes....Gallaspy is going to good
2/23/2017 6:34:59 PM
Finley our starting QB again?6-6. He's not that good
2/23/2017 7:32:02 PM
Finley is fine. he's a perfectly capable QB. he's not great necessarily, but he is a fine QB[Edited on February 23, 2017 at 8:04 PM. Reason : no real reason to hate on finley. perfectly serviceable ]
2/23/2017 8:01:10 PM
^^^ and Frasier if he can stay healthy
2/23/2017 8:06:19 PM
9-4 if we find a kicker, otherwise 7-6.
2/23/2017 8:29:51 PM
while we're listing RBs...Dakwa Nichols has looked solid in limited action throughout his career. i'm thinking we'll likely do more RB by committee next year, and not have one workhorse like we did with Dayes. but all 3 RBs (plus JaySam) should make our rush attack solid next year.
2/23/2017 8:34:15 PM
^^when analyzing schedule and regular season results, including bowl game just makes it confusing, we don't if you are assuming we win or lose the bowl game.
