The same logic applies. If you are preferred by a customer with _____ characteristics, it does not mean you yourself have ______ characteristics. If you could view the world outside of your "everything is racist AmeriKKKa" perspective it would help you out a lot.[Edited on November 14, 2016 at 1:57 PM. Reason : .]

So out of the hundreds (thousands?) of online magazines, white supremacists just randomly chose Brietbart, not because Brietbart actively caters to them. Gotcha.

He reasons like a middle school student-- which I guess is probably representative of a lot of voters. It's true kkk type groups tend to support the republican president, but in the past it's just been "we don't support either candidate but at least republicans will kick the blacks off welfare". With trump, it was visceral passion for his blatant prejudice of people based on their race and his alliance with breitbart. You don't have to read too much more than their press releases and posts from across the white national sphere to see they are energized by trump and proud to say so.

So Trump maybe is going to have Bolton, of the biggest proponents of the Iraq war, the guy who thinks it didn't go far enough, the guy who advocates for invading more countries, as the secretary of state?I don't think a GOP congress is dumb enough to approve this, so who is the real choice waiting in the wings i wonder...https://twitter.com/ryangrim/status/798249519628558336
11/14/2016 4:30:52 PM
We will see if he actually is selected.A lot of direct contradictions to what he campaigned for. Even the biggest parts. Some good changes. Some bad changes.I guess I'd prefer Bolton to Rudy (which is what WSJ was reporting).[Edited on November 14, 2016 at 4:36 PM. Reason : WSJ]
11/14/2016 4:36:34 PM
^ Bolton is far more dangerous than Rudy. Rudy wouldn't make a good sec of state, but Bolton would be openly antagonistic and bellicose. Considering how much Trump used the Iraq war as a negative, it's startling he thinks Bolton would make a good choice.http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/14/politics/white-nationalists-on-bannon/index.htmlWhite nationalists are thrilled their alt-right hero is so close to Trump.[Edited on November 14, 2016 at 4:46 PM. It is absolutely hilarious how obsessed the brainwashed SJWs are with the KKK. You're talking about a few thousand hicks spread out across a few Podunk towns who are nationally despised and denounced by everyone. This is how desperate the liberal media has become with their smear campaigns, I guess I shouldn't be suprised the gullible SJWs are reporting as ordered to regurgitate the clickbait. It's the same logic as me saying the Orlando shooter was a democrat, and supported Obama. Homophobic mass shooters are thrilled to have a president that they can vote for! Will Obama denounce his ISIS voters? This comparison goes completely over your head though, as you are so entrenched in your SJW echo-chamber no amount of logic or reason can convince you otherwise.

Dude probably couldn't pass a high school civics class. He ran a campaign on hate and racial division. He openly mused about attacking the freedom of the press, bringing back torture, and advocated for killing the families of suspected terrorists. He wants to expand civil liberty abuses like stop and frisk, and advocated for mass deportations and a ramping up of our police state while appointing right wing radicals to his cabinet. His first order of business will be to appoint a Supreme Court justice even though the seat has been vacate and obstructed by his party. But fuck it, let's just roll the dice and see if he was just joking around.
11/14/2016 8:12:00 PM
I mean, let's set aside the banana republic wackiness of what's going on here for a second and just evaluate it objectively. Reince Priebus, while an establishment Republican, has never held any government position at any level, ever. Anywhere. He's a political operative, and apparently a very good one, but he has absolutely zero experience actually governing. Steve Bannon has participated in, shall we say, an eclectic set of careers throughout his life. Again, none of them include a position at any level of government. It goes without saying that Trump himself has never held a government job. So here we are, T-minus 68 days from the new administration taking over, and there is a combined zero seconds of relevant experience among the people tasked with quite literally the most complex and demanding job in government. Now, Republicans have always espoused the belief that business experience prepares you for governing. Well, we're about to put that theory to the ultimate test!

I mean, I think we have to organize and prioritize. I said in one of the other threads that I expect the occupy movement or some equivalent to re-emerge itself. And now that Republicans control all the branches of government, maybe establishment Democrats won't be so quick to dismiss their grievances. Between occupy, BLM (regardless of your opinion of them, you have to respect their numbers), union protests (again, they have deep ties to socialist movements), student debt activists, Bernie liberals, Dakota Access Pipeline and other environmental activists, ACLU civil libertarian types, and even Rand Paul libertarians, etc, there is enough popular rage out there to make a change. The trick is to get them all on the same page and on message, in my opinion. If they fracture off into their little enclaves, then nothing will get done. You have to get them to unite around one common goal and have a clear path for reform. My initial gut reaction is that the common goal would have to be getting money out of politics. I think getting money out of politics (repealing citizens united and capping campaign contributions) is a good start. Then you start tackling income inequality. But honestly, I don't know. Both of those issues will meet massive resistance. It's not going to be easy. I'm still chewing on this issue myself.

Yeah. Look, too the extent that he wants to ethically stamp out corruption, I'm all for it. If, however, he simply wants to use his power to punish his political enemies ("special prosecutors," "lock her up," etc), then we have to oppose him. It's almost impossible to predict his desires because he's so erratic and bombastic, so we have to assume the worst, especially considering who he is surrounding himself with. And for the record, he's surrounding himself with corrupt politicians, sooooo....?We're in a very scary situation, because there are many people who will happily substitute "removing corruption" with authoritarian blood lust. Those people need to be offered a safer alternative that still achieves their goals without resorting to vengeful scapegoating.
11/15/2016 2:06:03 PM
Ben Carson doesn't think he has enough experience yet he ran for president LOL.
11/15/2016 2:10:18 PM
^^Agreed, but I'm not going to let media speculation dictate my opinions. Let's see how his cabinet actually turns out, and see what he says leading up to January. Liberals are just shooting themselves in the foot by definitively claiming it's already over.
11/15/2016 2:13:29 PM
^^Ben Carson also believes the pyramids were built to store grain, soooooo...^ No. Liberals are preparing for the worst until he proves himself otherwise. He doesn't get the benefit of doubt given the way he ran his campaign. It's pretty ridiculous to suggest otherwise if you're actually a progressive. [Edited on November 15, 2016 at 2:15 PM. And his cabinet positions so far off the rails that there is sufficient reason for concern. It's reckless for liberals to hope for the best, in my opinion. The time for political action and mobilization is now, not after the damage is already done. I mean, what more would the man have to say during a campaign before you considered it too dangerous for the republic to give him a chance?[Edited on November 15, 2016 at 2:23 PM. Reason : ]

6^ It does take a lot of explaining away his actions and his words to give him a chance.Off the top of my head you have to:- Believe he was lying about the Heritage Foundation. Any justice recommended through them will not be for women's rights, gay rights or overturning Citizens United.- Believe he is serious about cleaning up corruption despite still having Chris Christie on his transition team and having spent a lot of his campaign with Paul Manafort as it's head. Not to mention the yet unknown scope of his business interests and potential conflicts there.- Believe he is not going to be a hawk despite his previous comments on Iraq, Libya and Syria (before it became politically expedient to be against them) and his interest in Bolton as SoS- Believe he will allow peaceful dissent and will take police overreach seriously despite having Sherriff's Arpaio and Clarke as well as Rudy as confidantsSo while I am giving him a chance because I do think he is more moderate than people give him credit for it does take a lot mental gymnastics for me to square away what I hope he is with what he has been the last year and with whom he is surrounding himself with.[Edited on November 15, 2016 at 2:27 PM. 11/15/2016 2:30:49 PM
^^I won't deny that it takes some effort to explain his actions.Bannon, Christie, etc supported him strongly during the election. He couldn't completely turn them away. So he gave Christie a temporary spot and Bannon a made up position with no real power. Let's see how his full cabinet turns out. I think his Secretary of State choice will say everything we need to know. I don't buy the Giuliani rumors.I think one thing he is definitely honest about is his unwavering defense of police, and that is a legitimately scary thing we need to fight him on.As far as other positions? I don't know. There are some I like, some are terrible, and I have no idea which ones he will keep. But keep this in mind when you talk about campaign promises:http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/browse/
