"There aren't any "racist policies" in 2016 though. The only argument is that there is a disparate racial impact. That technically is not racist by itself. Is it a racist, sexist law that "murder is illegal" in Chicago, because it disproportionately puts young black men in jail?"

What a bizarre set of sentences. But what about.... in its finest form.

Anyway, a circuit court literally said that the NC's voting law went after black voters with almost surgical precision. Is that not the definition of a law made with the intention of marginalizing a subset of the population?

but it was "corrected" therefore it's all good now and nothing to see here. just ignore the fact that the folks that crafted the bill and passed it through are still in office.

To suggest a requirement holding everyone to the same standard is somehow "racist" is regressive logic 101. Do you really think so poorly of black people that you think they are utterly incapable of having an ID? This is racism of low expectations.

To frame this as "racist" by republicans reveals just how disconnected the SJWs are from reality... It's discrimination against democratic voters. If you're somehow incompetent enough to not have an ID in 2016, you're probably a loser dependent on big government, and would overwhelmingly vote democrat. How much melanin you have in your skin is a non-issue. Naturally though, idiot SJWs can't help but scream "RACIST!"

Disparate outcome =/= disparate opportunity

Interesting logic...

So just as white people's genetics result in blue and green eyes...
Black people's genetics result in being too incompetent to get an ID?

That's actual racism.

So what is a more relevant factor to the policy makers:

-What the color of their skin is
-Who they vote for

If the proposed law is "racist" in intent, then surely the republicans would try and keep those black people from voting for them, because it's about race, not elections, right?

You're taking the wrong point here, genetics don't matter.

The rule could be that you have to be dressed in plaid seersucker pants to vote. Black people could go out and buy a pair, but white people are more likely to have them. Republicans know this already and it's in fact the entire reason they passed the rule.

There's a difference between intent to stop democrats and intent to stop black people from voting. SJWs see disparate impact and scream racism, but republicans would do the same thing if the races were reversed. It's about votes. By definition if the law requires the same thing of all people it is not racist.

just because it is politically motivated doesn't mean it's not racist. when it disproportionately impacts black people like this does (doesn't matte who they vote for) it is racist. that's all there is to it.

it can be both racist and a political move to prevent the opposition from getting votes. the fact they were willing to fuck over black people for political gain is a textbook example of racism.

^ except Kap is excersing a constitutional right. So I wouldn't really call his a "wrong" even if you disagree with him. Isn't part of an officers job to protect the rights of citizens? And they threaten to quit doing so...The officers are sworn to protect their community and instead they turn their back on somebody (and a buncha people that have nothing to do with Kap) within that community. We hear so much about how these officers have a thankless job and aren't in it for the recognition and praise, and now these guys threaten to abandon their duties due to somebody's peaceful protest. That is the exact opposite of what they should be doing.

I understand that the cops are working off duty here, thus aren't required to volunteer to provide security at football games. I also think that should something happen at a 49ers game, and the police show up in a reactionary role as opposed to a preventative role, it will be the police that end up looking bad. The mayor would say to the police "so, because one person exercised their freedom of speech, your police department put everyone else in that stadium at risk? Unacceptable. "

True

But if I'm not mistaken, the police department there is saying to the 49ers "discipline your player, or we will punish you". That seems to me to be an agent of the government trying to punish someone for exercising their freedom of speech.

I think was more map calling police corrupt racist murders that they took offense too, more so than his right to free speech.

I don't agree with them refusing, but I think saying, "they don't like him expressing himself." Is intentionally obtuse.

Unless the city/County has a contract with the 49ers to provide police presence at games they're probably hiring off duty to provide security (that's pretty much what most teams do). If that's the case they are under no obligation to work those games. They're also not precluding officers from working those games if they want.

Personally I'd rather they hire private security anyway, probably a lot cheaper and easier to hold accountable.
