i tried out a gym today. it was one my team had control of. however i pitted my 240 cp scyther against a 400+ raticate. the thing is i got it down to 1% health, and my attacks stopped doing damage. i ended up getting killed because the game wouldn't let me get the killing blow. anyone else run into this BS?

Yeah feel like my usual areas of walking/being out and about all have the same Pokemon and rarely see anything new pop-up.

So I guess I need to venture to other areas of Raleigh to find different Pokemon?

do eggs not hatch when driving? how does it decide if you are walking, speed or location? i was crawling in traffic and opened it up and it still didn't register any distance for the incubator

From what I've read, it depends on the phone. If your phone is equipped with pedometer abilities, it will use that to determine if you are walking. Otherwise, keep your speed low and slow. I can ride my bicycle around state campus and it will register the distance. Biking while pokemoning is the most efficient way to go about this.... Exercise while playing Pokemon? And how!

Ive been getting quite a diversity in downtown raleigh. Even got some water ones like Magikarp which doesnt make much sense. Very little in Morrisville though.

it takes a min to update your egg distance. i drive 5 miles to work and it registered ~1km. but didnt update until a few min after i sat down

Only duplicates that are cheap to evolve. Save up like 120 pidgey candy, pop a lucky egg, and evolve them all for a buttload of xp

I live downtown and so I went for a run yesterday and got a bunch. I got a Horsee (water type) on Fairfax Mall, which was strange. Definitely a good amount of Evee downtown. Moore Square and Old City Market got nothing. Nash Square was mostly garbage but did get a Bulbasaur and a Gastly. I saw a bunch of odd types in the area near Calavera and Raleigh Skyhouse.

I'm getting pretty frustrated with constantly losing connection, freezing, having to re-enter my account info, etc. I was mainly after Evee and finally got one that was practically at max level and it froze up and I lost it.

I really hope they send out an update soon. They also need to make it social i.e. have friends and be able to see what they're doing and make clans or something. And fight them.

I have one pokestop within range of my desk.

POGO lunch planned with coworkers. Going to set some lures at a couple of very close pokestops in front of the hospital and profit.

My favorite though is that Mellow Mushroom on Franklin Street has two in/on it. So you can sit there and rack up.

Crank Arm Brewing has two stops at it so you can just sit at the bar. Think you can do the same at Mitch's. There are three that intersect in Old City Market. On campus by the Wolf Ears there are 4 so that's where all the students have been. Nash Square obviously has a bunch.

Totally cashing in on peoples childhood memories with this game. Ingress had no history to motivate anybody to get into it. Pokemon is after your time but most of my coworkers are late 20s to early 30s so they were middle/elementary when first ones came out on Gameboy.

My kids got me into it as I was in HS when it first came out and was interested in PC gaming, not Gameboy games.

For anyone wondering still I confirmed last night incense will give you pokemon even if you are in an area with absolutely zero around (seems about 4-5 per incense) and also that it only helps you and doesn't help anyone actually around you only the lures do it seems.

Yeah this shit is crazy even rolling through downtown knightdale last night at like 9 pm the gym there had like 20 people sitting out there around it. I imagine this fad will last until colder weather starts up then only hardcore people will be left haha
