I was upset with myself for forgetting to look last night, but I haven't noticed missing anything I'd want.

meh, a deal is a deal. So long as you're not just buying it solely because it's on sale

Naw I think they're $135...$108 was just the prime deal. There's a waitlist for that price now.

Still nothing I'd buy. It's all cheap stuff. If the Paperwhite went on sale I might get one but it's all probably stuff they have extra stock of.

Had a good one to end the night. Vizio 65", 1080, 120hz native, full array LED with local dimming. $799. Not 4k, but a pretty damn good deal for the other specs.

Had it in my cart and then deleted it. Sucks being a responsible adult who just bought a house. While I do need a TV for the family room, things like patio furniture and a bed for the guest room are higher on the priority list. Football season this year will be seen on a 10 year old 24" LCD.

With more/better advanced advertising, they could have made a KILLING today.

Most of it was unnecessary junk that a rare small crowd wants/needs/impulse spends on.

It will be interesting to see the % off total most items were discounted, the average.

^^Buy a bed on craigslist and get some plastic chairs from Big Lots. You can overpay to replace those things a couple years from now. In the meantime, you need a TV, dude!

Oh, we have a decently nice 2 year old 42" in the living room. But I won't be watching football on it. Part of the deal of my getting essentially free reign of the finished basement is that the wife doesn't have to put up with my monopolizing the TV on weekends during football season. I had planned on getting a nicer TV before then...but it didn't really dawn on me just *how much* we'd need in moving from an 840 sf 2-bedroom aparment to a 2300 sf 4-bedroom house.

^^^^If you can afford it, get the nice furniture up front. Otherwise, you'll get the cheap stuff and be stuck with it for 5-10 years.

^ that was my problem, I bought new furniture when I got my house back in 10 and it was cheap stuff from some warehouse place advertising a bedroom set, living room set, and dining room set for $999. its all particleboard. I replaced the mattress with a nice memory foam one and a platform bed and moved the crap one I got to the guest room, but I'm still stuck with the cheap furniture for another few years since they haven't worn out yet.

I've got some nice pieces in my living room - Pottery Barn couch and an Ekornes Stressless reclining chair.

Before I got the PB couch I had a nice leather Rooms to Go set and it lasted for years - all through college, grad school, and beyond. People crashed pretty much every night during college/grad so it got plenty of use. I actually ended up selling the set for like $800 when I was finished with it but I still miss it. Especially if you're just trying to fill rooms, certain R2G pieces aren't bad and the deals they have going are really good (0% financing, free TVs, etc.).

I had also sold my bedroom set at the the request of my ex (she wanted the couches gone too) so I had to get one when I bought my place in April. I got an Ikea desk and platform bed and have been very happy with it. I also got a memory foam / inner spring hybrid (good for your back and good for teh secs) for 50% off by buying the floor model, which was my favorite one anyway.

It's not a crime to have a futon in your guest room either and they're cheap.

tl;dr - get that TV, yo.

I'm trying to figure out what everyone was expecting. I thought it was fine. I got a couple good things that I needed. Almost jumped on a good TV deal...but couldn't justify the purchase to myself.

Did they expect every single item to be 50% off? And unlimited availability?

No the items were mostly crap. When people think Black Friday (which Amazon said it would be bigger than) they expect console bundles, big discounts on top selling items, etc. Most of these items were very niche or things they obviously had over stocked.

Who wants a bunch of crap watches? That is mostly what I saw. The flash memory, while the prices were decent, could be bought at Best Buy for the same prices when on sale. No, this was by no means a "Black Friday" event.

I had the day off, so I watched the sale off and on all day. If you just glanced at it for a few minutes, then yeah, it was pretty much a flea market/garage sale and lots of worthless garbage. But there were some awesome deals on TVs, camping equipment, phone accessories, video games, etc. You really just had to sit around and click at the exact minute something you wanted to went on sale to get it. Anyone who's camped out for tickets online or done cyber Monday knows the drill.

Once you have Prime, you'll use it much much more than 2-3 times a month. Because why not. "free" shipping.
