I want to cut my brakes lines and sell my car to all my co workers.

After I bought my Porsche down in Marietta, GA, whilst driving home to NC the CEL came on. Car needed a new O2 sensor (and then shortly thereafter a new catalytic converter - covered under factory warranty*). Did I call the dealership and bitch them out about it? No - I had purchased an 8 year old car and declined any sort of aftermarket warranty.[Edited on May 13, 2015 at 9:15 AM. Reason : *for the uninformed - emissions equipment is federally mandated to be warrantied for 8 yrs 100k mile]

^the dealership prob cleared the code so CEL would stay off for a short amount of time

^ It was probably the person who traded it in to them, but I agree that someone likely did it.

^^^ How long of a test drive did you go on?

a PPI still would have found that

I mean it's possible that had happened, but PPI hadn't turned anything up. And actually the first visit I took to the dealership resulted in them saying it was probably a random occurrence and they just reset it. I had to go back a second time before they replaced the O2.

So the consensus is, essentially, do nothing.

I bought my 2005 vette with about $6k in mods (or however much) and the first thing I did was check the computer's OBD II codes with my scanner. No pending or stored faults, drove the car for an hour test drive over various load conditions, speeds, etc, no issues. I was meticulous over the car, but then again I consider myself a car guy and know what to look for in a car. It's not like your buyer didn't have resources to have the car checked out before something happened. He could have had a PPI done at the dealership or another shop. If you were truely as honest as you could be about the sale, then no worries about whatever happens to the car outside your hands. Though I can see how it looks suspicious, he's just really mad that something happened to him and he didn't take extra precautions to possibly prevent it. No one here is a victim of any crime, as far as I can tell.[Edited on May 13, 2015 at 6:36 PM. Reason : .]

Yes, do nothing but take that 26k and use it as a down payment on a 2015 Z06/Z07. And give me a ride in it.
