Well we already know Rian Johnson will direct episode 8 and I think it was pretty much assumed that Abrams wouldn't come back again after that.

I think he's going to stay on in a producer role though to help shape the franchise.

I totally agree with this line of thinking. Especially considering that in Lucas' original plan, the light saber was a standard weapon for storm troopers, and this can actually be seen in the costumes of the storm troopers in the original Star Wars film.

Also, I think that the only force sensitive new comers will be Kylo Ren (obviously) and Rey, and they will probably be either siblings or cousins. We haven't seen or really heard much of anything about Luke or Andy Serkis' character, but I am betting that he will be a powerful Sith of some sort, like an actual Sith pure blood.

Is it just me, or does Kylo Ren's "mask voice" sound exactly like the mechanical voice of alpha from UP?

I have a feeling we are getting a bait and switch somewhere. Either he is going to end up not being a jedi and playing more of the Han role, or Daisy is going to end up swapping to the bad guys. Not really sure.

All in all a pretty spoiler free trailer which was nice, the only scene that really has me more curious then excited was Poe being tortured/interrogated by Kylo.

From that trailer alone, I can tell you that we are gonna be getting a bunch of lens flares. I hate lens flares, it just seems like a cheap gimmick similar to shaky cam.

I don't think the Knights of Ren are the same thing as the Sith. I think they might have a slightly different background.

the one very significant piece of detail about the Sith that is often over-looked from Episode I (and the expanded universe) is that there are only allowed to be two Sith at once, a master and an apprentince which is called the Rule of Two. This was actually explained quite well in Episode I, but since everybody takes a giant shit on that movie, people often ignored this key detail. Thus, there should be no Sith Lords remaining after the battle of Endor since both Darth Sidious and Darth Vader were destroyed. That does not mean that there are not any force sensitive people left that have turned to the dark side (which is what Ren is), or that previous Sith Lords that were presumed to be dead, such as Darth Plagueis, have been cloned or somehow brought back to life.

Jedi get wiped out by Sidious/Vader

Vader and Sidious get killed

Now the only people left who know much about the force is Luke, Leia, and maybe anyone Vader trained. Lord Snoke?

So this far removed from the old republic, Jedi and Sith have turned to myth or legend which is amazing.

Also, the knights of Ren in that shot don't have lightsabers. So Kylo managed to build his, but the others havent or cant. So he kind of becomes the defacto leader. But its interesting to see the other Knights of Ren that are force sensitive without lightsabers! I imagine some other badass weapons.

Very well scored. Love the trailer.
