11th win in a row, longest Mets streak since I think 1990.Last time this team had a 13-3 record was 1986.Edit: just checked, 11 consecutive wins is tied for the all-time franchise record. They did it in 1969, 1972, 1986, and 1990. So, every other time they do it, they win the World Series.[Edited on April 23, 2015 at 4:35 PM. Reason : -]

^murph did have a bonehead play in the field - but he's never been a great fielder. plus he made up for it with his bat. this is really fun
4/23/2015 8:56:31 PM
enjoy it while it lastsit's only a matter of time til Bartolo starts actually playing like a 47 year old
4/23/2015 9:12:38 PM
Colon hasn't had an ERA higher than 4.19 since like 2007. Yes he's old. But nobody's expecting him to put up Cy Young numbers. He just needs to be serviceable. We've got the younger arms to anchor the rotation.
4/24/2015 7:55:27 AM
Unfortunate that it was the Yankees to break the streak, won't do much to help the "kid brother" mentality. But hopefully this can still be a series win.I read somewhere that (iirc) Colon is only the 8th starter of the age of 40 to start 4-0 since 1920. Obscure stat, but still interesting to think about how well he's doing compared to his age.
4/24/2015 11:16:10 PM
Terry shouldn't have let Harvey pitch 9th. Reason he is on a pitch count...We knew he was but Plawecki is going to be good. But no room for him and Travis behind the plate so one has to be trade bait eventually.[Edited on April 25, 2015 at 6:54 PM. Reason : also Conforto and Nimmo in LF]

Beating the shit out of the Yankees tonight; bout to win the game. I don't fuck around with my April predictions.[Edited on April 25, 2015 at 7:18 PM. Reason : Good for y'all. Seriously. ]
4/25/2015 6:59:19 PM
Murphy in the clutch, team now 15-5 and still best in baseball. Trying so hard not too be too excited in April.
4/28/2015 4:24:57 AM
1-3 this series, while being outscored 10-6 and scoreless twice. 3-7 since the win streak ended. It begins ends [Edited on May 3, 2015 at 11:08 PM. Reason : -]

Still 2nd best record in MLB behind the Cardinals. Looking forward to playing them a couple of series from now, will be a much better gauge of how good each team really is. Wright and d'Arnaud could both be back by then.
5/7/2015 1:23:02 AM
Syndergaard
5/8/2015 2:40:00 PM
First start will be Tuesday. Looking forward to it.
5/9/2015 9:35:11 PM
Colon's K-BB ratio is now 40-1.
5/10/2015 10:25:05 PM
holy shit ^
5/11/2015 8:33:24 AM
http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/pitching/_/sort/strikeoutToWalkRatio/type/expanded-2The ratio is a little skewed just because of it being only 1 walk. As soon as he walks a second batter then the ratio cuts in half. But still...one walk over 7 starts? Amazing.[Edited on May 11, 2015 at 4:11 PM. Reason : -]
5/11/2015 4:10:00 PM
Syndergaard did not do well. Hopefully just some first-game jitters. Wasn't expecting magic on his first appearance but that was a little disappointing.
5/12/2015 10:53:22 PM
He pitched very well for a debut. C'mon, bro. [Edited on May 13, 2015 at 7:46 AM. Reason : Go Cubs]
5/13/2015 7:44:42 AM
Daniel Murphy fucked him. Throwing 25 more pitches because that asshole can't make a 50 foot throw destroyed a much more promising night. I can't imagine Noah having a worse defensive pairing behind him then Murph/Flores since high school.
5/13/2015 7:49:56 AM
Good point, but he had too many baserunners. He pitched his way out of it until the 6th, but if that many people are reaching base eventually they are going to start scoring. The bullpen was off as well (not that it mattered with the Mets not keeping up offensively)[Edited on May 13, 2015 at 1:04 PM. Rumors starting to circulate about a possible trade for Troy Tulowitzki.
5/13/2015 6:15:43 PM
One of the best games Harvey has pitched in his young career...5 total batters reached and 0 runs in 7 innings with 9 k.But then the bullpen couldn't hold. 3 straight losses to the freakin' Cubs. (Then again, it's their World Series Year according to BttF 2)
5/13/2015 11:37:04 PM
I seemed to have misplaced my broom. May need it tomorrow night. Any help would be appreciated.

I was wondering when that regression train would hit them
5/14/2015 5:29:08 PM
doesn't help having lagares out for a few games in a row, and wright still on the DL. i mean, the 15-5 pace (or whatever record we jumped out to) wasn't gonna continue for the entire season, obviously.
5/14/2015 5:47:48 PM
Scored 10 runs in the 4th inning...the same number of runs scored in the last 5 games combined (all losses).Every starter got at least 1 hit, including deGrom going 3-3 in the 8th spot and Flores with a Grand Slam batting 9th.Syndergaard making his first home start to finish this series against the Brewers.I am so stoked for the upcoming series against the Cardinals. Harvey, Niese, Colon to pitch.

Just stay away from the NL Central and you'll run away with the division.
5/21/2015 9:39:06 AM
Split with the Cards. deGrom retired 23 consecutive batters. 8 innings, 1 hit, 11 k's, 0 BB's. Crazy good effort. Duda 4 RBIs off 2 homers.I don't know what the hell happened during the Cubs series, but going 2-1 against the Brewers and 2-2 against the Cardinals is pretty good. Losing 10-2 and 9-0 was not great, but it was just 2 games. What concerns me is Colon. 2 straight awful starts. 9.1 innings, 18 hits, 15 runs (12 earned). Also finally gave up a couple of more walks. Bumped down to 2nd best K:BB ratio (46:3) behind Michael Pineda (55:3)Pirates up next.[Edited on May 22, 2015 at 1:12 AM. Reason : -]
5/22/2015 1:04:01 AM
David Wright has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis. It's the same condition that forced Lenny Dykstra to retire well before his time. This is not good.
5/24/2015 3:12:30 AM
Tied for 1st! DeGrom took a no-hitter into the 6th, ultimately gave up 2 hits, 0 walks, while striking out 8 in a 7-0 win.DeGrom's last 4 starts:3-0 record, 29 innings, 14 hits, 1 walk, 34 strikeoutsAs a team, the Mets have the lowest number of walks pitched at 103...the next lowest is 123. #1 team in K/BB ratio, team WHIP, pitches thrown per plate appearance, and opponent batting average.[Edited on June 2, 2015 at 1:02 AM. Reason : -]
6/2/2015 12:45:40 AM
^also, in his last 4 starts he's given up 0 extra base hits (if i read that stat correctly)
6/2/2015 8:42:48 AM
Syndergaard got rocked for 7 runs in 4 innings. But he also struck out 10 in those same 4 innings.
6/3/2015 1:19:54 AM
And now Murphy is on the DL. This is getting ridiculous. DeGrom had another 10k outing. Pitching is so freakin' good but all these offensive holes are becoming a pain. Colon should be furious for not getting a win last night after the team couldn't score more than one run of support.
6/7/2015 9:23:17 PM
think i read where the mets are undefeated when scoring more than 6 runs or sometimes like that.
6/8/2015 9:14:43 AM
That's correct. 20-2 record when scoring 5 or more runs.Which means 11-25 when they score 4 or less.[Edited on June 8, 2015 at 4:04 PM. Reason : -]

6/28/2015 7:12:09 PM
Picked up Mattzy boy off waivers a couple months ago. Signed him to a 4 year deal for a measly $3. Really stoked to see what he can do for the team over the next couple years.

Also, Conforto called up. If he hits over .200 it's an upgrade..
7/24/2015 3:25:26 PM
lol, our 4 and 5 hitters yesterday were Mayberry Jr and Campbell - hitting .165 and .176 respectively. highest BA in yesterday's lineup was .254.
