Agreed. I only watch and read non-fiction. Fuck all that fiction shit.

I don't want any major changes, but I do think it would be cool to bring out a limited edition BTTFII Blu-ray that had the option of playing the movie with the edited future that has just a few tweaks in the background. I have Stigmata on DVD and it gives you the option to play it with the alternate ending. The theatrical version shows the priest holding the girl in his arms and then she stands up and walks down a path. The alternate ending is the same except she dies in his arms and her ghost stands up and walks down the path.

What I would like to see in the alternate future...

Change the headlines in the newspaper to match things that really happened in October of 2015.

Maybe replace some of the 1980s model flying cars with 2015 model flying cars. IIRC there is a 1980s model Ford Mustang that flies in the background, but plays no real role in the movie like some of the other cars that almost run over Marty.

Maybe add a "Free Wi-Fi" sign somewhere, or add an advertisement for cell phones in the alley on the brick wall.

Then they can just say, "See if you can find the changes." That wouldn't even change the movie really.

nah that's crap. they would have to completely change the movie... just accept it's in a different universe... otherwise they would have to completely re-shoot the future scene if your revisions were to make ANY sense.

^Did they really set up the stage props again and have actors act just to add one creature outside of a building in Star Wars? I thought they just used computer graphics and added it.

For the sake of argument, B2FII got a few things right on by 2015

Who says life doesn't imitate art? Many of the entrepreneurs saw B2FII growing up, and I would wager that they aspired to bring this technology to us all......maybe partly motivated by the high bar set in the movie

- mobile payments with remote fingerprinting devices (see Apple Pay / Square)
- controllerless video games or games with wireless, very limited controller use (see Wii / Kinect)
- using the TV with a video interface for chatting (see Cisco Connect / Skype)
- the fact that McFly can see what his boss likes/dislikes in real time (LinkedIn / Facebook)

to me it sounds like you want to make it sound like the real 2015. if that's the case, it would be a completely different movie. if you add "real life" 2015 references, that seems like an attempt to make it like the "real" universe... but if you don't completely re-shoot, what's the point of "normalizing" it? other than to desecrate the original film.

^I don't think it would be that big of a deal to change the newspaper headlines and maybe use computer graphics to change the looks of some of the cars and then give people the option to watch the alternate future on their Blu-ray

I just looked and the Power Glove and U-Force both came out in 1989. It was probably after they started filming the movie though.
