Yeah god forbid we insult a dictator that starves his own people and sends them to death camps. What about his feelings?

the only reason his death would be anything but a benefit to north korea as a whole is because there's a good chance a more extreme dictator (as opposed to a fat man-boy) would likely take his place

like most dictators, his actual death would simply remove a shitstain from the world

but hey, if you want to sing kumbaya with him, that's your right as an american citizen (thank goodness you're not in north korea, eh?)

^ yep...it will absolutely end up available for download (at the very least), legally or otherwise

so...don't release it, say you got hacked again, release it online (anonymously), and still get millions of people to see it. movie still gets out and a middle finger to the hackers is delivered.

reminded me that trey parker and matt stone first showed muhammed on south park and received no blowback from muslims, then year's later denmark shows muhammed in a comic or something and comes under fire from muslims.

fast forward years later, sony, seth rogen, and james franco face threats from north korea leading up to the release of "the interview," despite the fact that paramount faced no such threats when they released team america: world police, created by trey parker and matt stone.

Weren't the hacker servers in Japan? Seems like this reflects more on Japanese people.

Sucks the hackers came out so decisively on top. Hopefully some of the network switches the nsa intercepted and installed back doors in wound up wherever these gop hackers are?

I don't think its in bad taste. Its no worse than jokes about rape, the nigger word or any other horrible thing. Dark humor is one way that a lot of people cope with difficult issues (aka what is actually going on in North Korea). Lets not forget that this guy IS alive and there are STILL hard labor camps in North Korea. Is it better that no one says anything? No one does anything? Comedy is one of many ways to tell a story that connects to others and allows people to ask questions that maybe they internally don't have an answer for.

Simplying saying "wife beating" jokes are bad because wife beating is bad is a little quaint in my humble yet extremely close minded opinion. I think its a little bit more complex than that. Its supposed to be offensive. Its supposed to make you uncomfortable. Why? Because societal stagnation SHOULD be uncomfortable. Wife beating is offensive. The shame we feel is guilt for living in a world where we don't think that we have the power to create change. Do you think that deep down beneath a half century of brainwashing a prisoner in North Korea (or russia...) that breaks rocks 20 hours a day because his father tried to escape North Korea would be upset about this movie? Probably not.

The truth of the world is pretty ugly. If it wasn't, there would be no need for comedy at all.

Did anyone notice that China denounced cyberattacks, but didn't specifically condemn N. Korea in this whole ordeal. Seems like they are trying to diplomatically split fences.

So it appears as if N. Korea is having difficulties connecting to the internet today:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2014/12/22/north-koreas-internet-is-going-suspiciously-haywire/?tid=sm_fb

Coincidence? Or is this the proportional response, equivalent to the U.S. scrote checking N. Korea as if you say 'Yo...remember... you exist because I allow you to exist. . . . . . . . . . .'

China's Netcom

I think China is one of their only links to the world, propping them up with food and other resources. I think that China benefits from having a dictator in the region not necessary friendly with the U.S.... no matter how much of a failure the DPRK is.
