what's replacing harrelson[Edited on November 9, 2015 at 11:06 AM. Reason : should be much more comfortable for the ag frat/sorority to graze in]

You sure about that?In my last facilities meeting, they stated the plan was to build a central building for the College of Sciences in the location of Harrelson.[Edited on December 11, 2015 at 10:50 AM. Reason : image]

that might be long term, but what I posted is the drawing used in the bid that was just awarded so that is what it will look like this time next year (at least if there are no delays)

Very cool, thanks for posting!

I really wish they'd take down Cox & Dabney with Harrelson. Those are some ugly ass buildings.
12/12/2015 9:09:55 PM
from what i understand, harrelson is gonna be a greenspace for a while
12/14/2015 4:10:00 PM
yeah... what i posted over a month ago just a few posts up^^ there are also some interior projects inside cox and dabney that are part of the same program[Edited on December 14, 2015 at 5:48 PM. Reason : .]

http://www.technicianonline.com/news/article_2f5f5122-ba7a-11e5-89aa-8baf81509cf7.htmlI graduated in 2013 and the rec facilities at State at that time were way more impressive than anything I'd seen at the other colleges I'd visited. This renovation to the old gym sounds pretty great - that hallway looks damn Hunt Library. They're supposed to be gutting that building across from the old gym as well that contained a bunch of offices & class rooms as well as part of a large scale overhaul of the entire area.

Phase 1 of the Harrelson Demo is currently underway, which consists of putting the fence up around the building and lot.
1/30/2016 9:36:10 PM
Do you know when it is actually going to start coming down? I might have to drop by.
1/31/2016 3:32:30 AM
I'd like to take a chunk of Harrelson as a souvenir. Many hours spent in that SOB. Almost like a trophy.

Looks like construction on the Pullen Road extension is set to start Spring 2017 according to WRAL.http://www.wral.com/city-plans-pullen-road-extension-to-help-ease-traffic-in-west-raleigh/15559808/The City of Raleigh has updated their road projects page to include this project. Not plans yet, but i'm really hoping they figure out a way to put both lanes of Western under Pullen. Still having that stop light at the east-bound Western and Pullen intersection would be terrible.https://www.raleighnc.gov/projects/content/PWksDesignConst/Articles/PullenRoad.htmlAbout 3 years ago they showed this model, so hopefully it'll look something like this:

Does anybody know where are the two new buildings going from The Connect NC bond? Was talking to a coworker who is also at NCSU and he had no idea unless they finish off the Horseshoe on Centennial. We still don't know at UNC if they are going to demo the building that is getting replaced first or if they plan to build the new medical education building nearby and then demo/repurpose Berryhill. Only clear spot ground is by the Belltower parking garage.[Edited on March 18, 2016 at 5:17 PM. Reason : ]

Yep, the Engineering Building will be completing the Oval. The Plant Sciences Building will be on Oval Drive (pretty visible in the rendering).https://connectnc.ncsu.edu/content/uploads/2015/12/wide-pic-04-agriculture-1500x844.jpg

sad even though the building was a POS. grabbed a couple bricks as keepsakes. note that there really isn't any actual brick in Harrelson so it was more like one of the steps leading up to it. [Edited on June 9, 2016 at 2:26 PM. Reason : .]

they should have made straight paths in the direction that people will be crossing the area

nice. glad it's a park at least. I'm on Centennial for an R class all week. Makes me feel fortunate to have spent my time on North Campus. It feels more like an office park / community college to me on Centennial. Even years down the road when the trees grow in fully, etc. I don't see it looking that great.
8/9/2016 9:55:05 AM
centennial is way too spread out
8/9/2016 9:57:34 AM
It's only temporarily a park until they raise funds for a new College of Sciences building (see my post at the top of the page).
8/9/2016 10:00:56 AM
OMG. The building is totally gone now.
8/9/2016 11:35:36 AM
Centennial is great, stfu!!!!!!!
8/9/2016 2:06:32 PM
Having worked on Centennial for the better part of a decade, I love it and looking forward to the stuff they are building in the coming years. If I were a student still, I'd totally agree with you. Doesn't have that college feel to it, despite the Oval and Library being really nice.

Here's some pictures I took of Reynolds. They don't really do it justice - the level of detail in there is extraordinary. More pictures here:https://imgur.com/a/f5k5c[Edited on September 26, 2016 at 3:11 PM. Reason : size but probably still off. go to imgur]

I was also at the Staff Appreciation thing today.
9/26/2016 4:31:02 PM
I only caught the tail end of it unfortunately. Got some free food though. Was mostly interested in seeing Reynolds. I didn't see anyone from my college there.
9/26/2016 4:37:24 PM
its a shame they made it small it would have been nice to move the program back there.

It's gonna be tough to get tickets for the Heritage Game this year
9/26/2016 5:20:07 PM
Aww, man, I'm all wistful now.
9/27/2016 4:07:24 AM
They still need to build the monorail
9/27/2016 5:10:15 PM
As of 2014 a "fixed guideway" (looks like cable cars) is on the NCSU Master Plan. https://facilities.ofa.ncsu.edu/bldg/master-plan/
