Reports from residents, apparently. They certainly have good motives to avoid confirming infections at this point in a vain attempt to keep people in town and track them down. It might not be too late yet...[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 1:43 PM. Reason : .]

so youre speaking to residents directly then?again, source plz.
10/15/2014 1:43:48 PM
No thanks.

10/15/2014 1:46:13 PM
I mean if that was the case it does make sense to keep things quiet as long as possible to try and contain and track down contacts but if that is true it also means the chances of tracking everyone down at this point is nearly impossible.
10/15/2014 1:47:16 PM
Not really. As long as they're are able to compile an accurate list, smartphones will lead them right to them.

Reading the plane flew from Dallas to Atlanta (busiest airport in the world) then back to Cleveland before it was pulled off and cleaned or whatever.
10/15/2014 2:01:27 PM
Funny I have a friend who just moved into Nina Pham's neighborhood this month. He was interviewed on the news Sunday, in fact. He hasn't said shit about this.
10/15/2014 2:02:42 PM
smc must not have called him.
10/15/2014 2:04:52 PM
This is just one of those things you want to think they will get their shit together and stop the spreading and what not and everything will be fine. Then you think back to all those movies you have seen over the years or shows on like discovery channel and this is exactly how it all goes to shit.
10/15/2014 2:07:36 PM
Someone shared on my FB wall a letter that one of Glenn Beck's employees got from the Dallas health department regarding ebola because they lived int eh same complex as the latest nurse

Man, I made that joke in the Soap Box Ebola thread back in early August.

we got an "Ebola Memo" today at work.
10/15/2014 2:36:02 PM
The next door neighbors probably don't have much to worry about, but I bet they're quakin in their boots.
10/15/2014 2:36:24 PM
Some of the apartment cleanup guys were hired from craigslist, had no idea they were dealing with ebola until informed by reporters, and wore no protective gear.[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 2:39 PM. Reason : .]

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/health/how-ebola-spreads/#b10g15t20w14We gon' die^ from what's currently known, they don't really need protective gear for that. The cleaning crew stuff is likely mostly to ease the mind of the public.[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 3:06 PM. Reason : ]

I think my political opponents need to be quarantined around election day.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/health/EbolaClinic/EbolaClinic.jpgPeople with a fever enter on the left, bodies exit via the morgue on the right. We need one of these in every post office parking lot across the country.[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 3:10 PM. Reason : .]

Also, I think that cleaning was from a few days later. How hard would it have been for them to throw on some basic PPE though?
10/15/2014 3:09:49 PM
As mentioned, they were hired via craigslist and had no idea why they were cleaning.
10/15/2014 3:10:54 PM
source?
10/15/2014 3:11:50 PM
No sauce, thanks.
10/15/2014 3:13:30 PM
my uncle, who's cousin's friend on facebook lives nearby, said that they were not hired on craigslist
10/15/2014 3:31:25 PM
i heard that those "cleaning" guys were actually spreading ebola throughout the apartment complex.
10/15/2014 3:40:41 PM
Everybody is saying the mortality rate is 70%But is it REALLY 70%? Or is it 70% because of poor sanitation conditions in Africa?Right now in America, of the known cases, the death rate is only 33.33333333 %
10/15/2014 3:42:26 PM
point three repeating of course
10/15/2014 4:30:12 PM
So a fellow volunteer is going home next week, a vacation she scheduled a while back so that she could attend her cousin's wedding. But the cousin just called her and asked her not to attend. Apparently the bride's family and half the wedding party refused to attend the wedding if the volunteer was present, because they're afraid of Ebola. You people need to pop a goddamn xanax or something.

^W...T...F..maybe have the family watch this:http://io9.com/fox-news-shepard-smith-says-not-to-panic-about-ebola-h-1646904044it's fox news, so maybe they'll listen.

10/16/2014 7:16:38 AM
Technically accurate, though not well worded. Just sitting in the same space as somebody will not give you ebola. But if you have ebola you shouldn't get on a bus because you don't know when you might start vomiting or otherwise expelling fluids. If you fall and get cut, you're suddenly contagious as shit. Sharing the air doesn't spread the disease, but proximity does increase the likelihood of some other means of transmission.
10/16/2014 7:41:05 AM
so you CAN get ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus...
10/16/2014 7:42:39 AM
If they vomit or bleed on you, sure. I think the CDC guy assumed most Americans avoided bleeding, vomiting people regardless of whether they were on public transportation.[Edited on October 16, 2014 at 7:55 AM. Reason : ]

wife's dad is signing up for one of the corporate jet services for business travel because he is afraid of ebola(I'm hoping he gets scared enough to let us use his account too, that would be sweet)
10/16/2014 9:54:14 AM
Is he anywhere near Dallas or Ohio?Have we really gotten to that point? To where we change our behavior because of ebola?
10/16/2014 10:07:30 AM
^ I'vecchanged my behavior. Since this Ebola outbreak, I have stopped sneaking into hospitals and tongue kissing strangers while they sleep.
10/16/2014 10:12:29 AM
^^ no, he is just paranoid and can afford it. if this is still going on during the holidays I bet that's how he makes us travel to come visit them. I'm okay with that for reasons totally unrelated to ebola.
10/16/2014 10:26:19 AM
