^ I'm at work, so I can't investigate the matter right now.

screw you people with incomes over 100K. get a nice state job and be poor like me.

I, too, am curious as to what exactly a "gym dick" means.

I believe the 3rd entry in Urban Dictionary is the correct one from that website:

okay, that makes sense. I see the connection to "gym" now. I was kinda imagining "gym dick" to mean "dick worn out by exercise" or something like that, like "whiskey dick." but the "gym" doesn't even describe anything, really, except to say that it's big.TIL]

This is what you call poor management. If your manager grew a brain he would realize there will be less friction and more collaboration in the office if the compensation plan aligned with the companies goals for all employees. (salespeople and engineers working together) Cutting the engineers in on the commissions or sales bonuses would solve this problem completely and also not be illegal. Most people know that cook-out has a blazing fast and accurate drive through, but they do not know that cook-out employees receive profit sharing and are generally paid better than other fast food workers. Amazing how that works. Every person in the building receives more money the more money the company makes, as a result things get done faster and better.

No employee should be required to compensate another employee out of his or her personal income. Compensation, is what the company provides to its employees in return for their time and skills. If the company's intent is to share the wealth with engineers after a sale is made to reward their contribution, then the sales team should allocate a portion of their revenue to an operating budget to distribute those funds. If this is one of those things that the sales people started doing as a personal thank you, and then evolved into an unwritten rule, then the 'tradition' is already ruined by your manager enforcing it and the assumption that they're going to get something extra for doing their jobs. your manager is a shitty boss, and should be giving you air cover if he is reacting to shit that he received from someone else.
