^glad to see you enjoyed the Cuban at Lina's! Randy's on Miami does have great phillies. I usually get the chicken one. Two Guys Grill has a great black bean philly. For those of you that enjoy veggie options

^that Cuban was dank. my friends keep telling me to try the chicken philly at Randy's but I don't really order chicken phillies anywhere - but you were right about the Cuban (which I hadn't ordered ever before) so I'll check it out.

I went to that Chinese place beside Randy's today (China Wok n Grill) because I discovered Chow Mei Fun over the weekend and was craving it. I got the "Singapore Mei Fun" and thought it was really good, although next time I might ask them to make it spicier. The portion size was more than enough for two adult men for $8.55 with tax - it also had a really good amount of meat. It had mostly chicken and shrimp but there was also pork and beef in there.

went to Benetis Restaurant today with my boss because Papa Mojos was closed (renovation? haven't been there). it had a retirement home feel but the gyro was pretty good and her quesadilla looked awesome. they also serve breakfast all day, which could be a nice plus.

Need a version of this for Cary. I'm right at the Morrisville boundry, but can't get to Durham on a normal lunch trip.

I pass by Mez and Page Road Grill when I'm leaving my full-time and heading to my part time job and have always wondered what kind of food they serve and it's any good.

I've been to Mez (years ago) and thought it was okay. Basically fancy Mexican food, but still reasonably priced. Cool atmosphere too.

they're both pretty good. Page road is typical american stuff. I've always been happy with the food. Mez is jazzed up mexican stuff, also good. I had some pork tacos with a peach salsa or something on them once that were really delicious.

I like Page Road. I've had some really slow service there though. It's not a 30 minute lunch kind of spot but their food is pretty good.

I'd be down to grab lunch sometime. I work near Davis and Hopson. I don't think I'd want to go out to lunch with any of my coworkers. Not to mention they're all like 40+

Anyone ever been to Halgo European Deli?

You can get pork and veal Kabanosy made fresh in house for $8.20/lb. and they have jars of different kinds of Polish mustard for $2. They also have kielbasa and other types of meats and cheeses and a small eastern European market.

They've got some new places at 55 and O'Kelley Chapel. Should be more convenient when they connect OKC To Little drive and Louis Stephens Dr.

Currently Open...
Tazikis
Tijuana Flats
Jersey Mike's

Others on the way like Panera with a drive-thru, Chuy's, and Maybe even a World of Beer I hear.

tried 9n9 today and had the pho tai. it was just ok. doesn't really hold a candle to Pho Cali (although I heard they sold to a new owner and went downhill) or Pho Far East. it was pretty expensive for lunch too.

I've noticed a drop in their quality recently too. They were never as good as Pho Cali, but I always liked their pho. Something's been missing the past couple times I've swung by there for some takeout.

In that same shopping area...Danny's BBQ isn't bad. The meat is pretty quality, though their sides leave something to be desired.

I'm in the "crunching numbers" phase of developing a lunch spot in RTP. We've identified a couple locations and have a couple anchors lined up but we are not yet sure if M-F for lunch only makes our numbers work.

Even with some of the layoffs in RTP, I feel like every single decent lunch place is packed. If RTP wasn't so spread out, or if there was evening/weekend traffic, it would be a no-brainer.

I always take my lunch around 2 just so I don't have to deal with the crowd. I also work 10-6pm so it makes sense anyway. When I have taken noon lunches, though, I agree everything decent is packed.

tried Backyard BBQ today and really enjoyed it. I had the pork bbq plate with Brunswick stew and potato salad. Both sides were on the sweeter side but good - especially in the Bstew. The pork was really moist and both the vinegar and dipping sauces were spot on. Tea was also good - a bit sweeter than Bojangle's but not as sweet as Cookout.

this place is a legit NC BBQ joint.

Had a blaCleaned chicken salad at Tossed today. Was the bomb. Haven't been there at 12 before. It was a zoo and seating was all full. Would have sat outside if the seats weren't wet.

Thai Lanna is great. They don't post their lunch menu online but you can get most of the stuff on the dinner menu for $8 at lunch. I had the green curry today and thought it was great. First time I've had green curry though so take my opinion fwiw

^^ ^^^^ I go to backyard at least once a week.

I regularly get food from the following for my team:

Zoe's kitchen
Williams gourmet kitchen
Jasons
Jets/Rosattis pizza
bad daddys
the oyster bar over there at park west
thai noodles

Thats pretty much the standard around here with a mix of things that satisfy all 20 of my peeps.

Gussy's Greek food truck just opened a brick and mortar location on the corner of Miami and Alexander.

Their food is so fucking legit but they have no price break at all compared to their food truck. $8.00 for a gyro and $5.00 for sides (Greek fries, dolmades, rice, hummus, etc.) and it's another $1.00 to add feta to anything.

Then you have Benetti's, which has a solid gyro with fries for $8.29 ($5.99 on Wendesdays) and they'll put on feta for free.

I'd easily pay $10 for for a combo like that at Gussy's but when you're talking $15 for lunch to get a gyro and fries with feta - that's crazy.

Backyard BBQ is best in the triangle. Pho 9n9 changed ownership and the food went downhill. Jamaica Jamaica is great spot for ox tail. korean bbq joint across the street is also very good. Lina's is great deli spot. Screw Serena's and their shitty service (and shitty owner). I miss Chubbys.

^^ Best pork bbq in the triangle. And hushpuppies too. Pigs still cooked over wood and so moist you dont even need vinegar/sauce.

^ Nice, Ill have to check it out soon.

I haven't had that BBQ, but it is not the best in the Triangle. Saying vinegar/sauce is not needed your vote has been disqualified. This is not optional. There should be so much it puckers your butthole when you eat it (direct quote from someone whose judgement on the subject I respect very much).

Also,

Near Highwoods.

Another for Mami Nora's on Wake Forest. Taco Tuesday is one of the reasons I drag myself to the office once or twice a week.

I recently noticed Cafe Soo on Brentwood the other week and have gone a couple of times.
Trying the Korean stuff before this rumored best chicken in the world stuff. So far for a lunch place I'm impressed.

^that doesn't make any sense. I want the flavor of the meat, not the sauce. The sauce, if necessary, should highlight the flavor of the meat. If you want the taste of the sauce then buy a bottle and drink it.

And I would be very interested in hearing your #1 bbq spot because based on your opinion on sauce I expect it will be Danny's or Dickey's.
