I'm going to miss the previews for next episodes that give nothing away. I enjoyed this episode a lot. Peggy and Joan's conversation in the elevator was excellent. The diner woman reminded me a lot of someone too, but couldn't place which character it reminded me of. Maybe just someone in the background of Don's childhood whore house days. And all of the 1970s hair and mustaches. Just loved it all.

for a split second I thought she was Lorraine Bracco (Molly Lambert did too, according to her recap, ha)I'm just happy to have new episodes back in my lifeequally as bummed that there are only 5 episodes left, though
4/6/2015 1:18:07 PM
Last remember her from The Good Wife. Not an exciting first episode, but I know they are setting it up for some good stuff...so no worries.
4/6/2015 1:37:28 PM
^^i can see that!a quick trip through Don's blackbook I realize at first glance she reminded me of Midge. But she gave me that "wait? where?" because of her role on True Detective. (thanks google!)
4/6/2015 1:56:39 PM
I stopped watching this after the season where he cheated on his French-Canadian wife. So, how are things with the agency now?
4/6/2015 2:50:07 PM
so you gave up on this show right before it ended? way to commit!
4/6/2015 3:24:24 PM
I moved to another continent and left my shows and bball behind.
4/6/2015 4:43:19 PM
this show ends with joan as police woman
4/6/2015 7:00:27 PM
No relation but the waitress vaguely looks like that chick Pete banged that had the lobotomy. Maybe more like her older sister.
4/7/2015 1:38:54 AM
^^and joins the Dyke and Fats cast
4/10/2015 8:52:03 AM
It will be interesting to see what they're building up to, because I've been pretty underwhelmed so far.
4/13/2015 11:54:17 AM
last nights ep felt a little too soap opera-y to meI will say that I have quickly become a big fan of the waitress, though. me and Don must have pretty similar tastes
4/13/2015 11:57:34 AM
the waitress was so melancholy, i felt she was going to be the one that finally leaped off Don's balcony.especially after she referenced it--"i bet you sit out there all the time"
4/15/2015 8:12:44 AM
Interesting article about the waitress (Diana).http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/04/mad-men-who-is-diana
4/16/2015 12:40:59 AM
^it never crossed my mind that the waitress a ghost or anything like that...i'm not buying into that theory at all. is that actually a theory that has gained traction? i haven't read many reviews about the season so far...so that's the first time i've seen anybody speculate that she's not real. that just seems to outlandish for me. but the writer is definitely hung up on the possibility.
4/19/2015 9:45:47 PM
4/19/2015 11:10:46 PM
What I liked about the article was how it likened Diana to a female version of Don. When Don was starting out he was invisible in plain sight.
4/20/2015 12:48:52 AM
^yeah that definitely seems to be a valid point about Diane. Given their rough pasts and running away from their past, etc.
4/20/2015 7:34:47 AM
Poor Sally Draper...all her friends want to fuck her parents.
4/20/2015 9:58:56 AM
I'm not sure I understand the direction at the moment, I feel like its all in limbo.
4/20/2015 10:03:15 AM
Don's face when he walks out of his penthouse after being sold is how I feel about no one jumping off that balcony ledge. COME ON! /morbid thoughtsI also had the same reaction Betty did to Glen. DANG GLEN!Set next to the previous episode, I like how he's standing among the nothingness of this empty apartment...and then standing just outside the door. No wife. Essentially no kids. No girlfriend. No apartment. No belongings. With the speech he's supposed to be writing--"is there a scenario in which it's better?" Loved this episode. PLEASE DON'T END MAD MAN!!!
4/20/2015 10:17:02 AM
This has gotta ramp up at some point. I like the episodes, but its just as open ended as ever without any sense of closure.
4/20/2015 10:25:32 AM
I've been thinking Diana wasn't real this whole time too...At least there is ONE other person who agrees with me
4/21/2015 10:22:35 PM
Alison Brie appearance.
4/26/2015 10:33:33 PM
4/26/2015 11:06:18 PM
Brie is so friggin hot.
4/27/2015 10:48:28 AM
"this is the beginning of something. not the end"
4/27/2015 11:47:33 AM
ugh. in the end the family is broken up, every one is lost & picking up drifters. ugh.
5/4/2015 2:56:39 PM
Thought Don might take Betty right there in the kitchen. And fuck McCann-Erickson.
5/4/2015 3:15:17 PM
that episode bummed me out.
5/5/2015 12:39:47 AM
can't wait to see how it ends
5/10/2015 11:20:31 PM
I want to see Roger & Peggy at least once more next week, but the last 2 episodes have been great.
5/10/2015 11:45:03 PM
Man o man, I feel like Pete's gonna be the one out the window.
5/12/2015 9:37:12 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if nothing too crazy happened in the finale. I don't really expect anybody to die or a huge dramatic twist in the last episode. While this show has had it's wild moments (dude hanging himself, lawnmower scene, etc) it's obvious nobody's going out in a blaze of glory. This isn't Breaking Bad or a show like that. Betty's gonna die - maybe not in the show, but obviously she doesn't have much longer with her diagnosis. But I don't necessarily see anything over the top happening in the finale. I fully expect it to be fairly open-ended.
5/16/2015 8:21:54 AM
Perhaps a cut to black in a New Jersey diner.
5/16/2015 9:31:33 AM
lol - exactly.
5/16/2015 11:04:52 AM
We find out that the entire series was a coma fantasy in Don's father's mind after he got kicked in the face by the donkey.
5/17/2015 3:17:23 PM
Superb finale.
5/17/2015 11:24:23 PM
that was very, very good and I am very, very sad that it's over
5/17/2015 11:24:48 PM
So good. Will miss that world incredibly much.
5/17/2015 11:44:34 PM
5/18/2015 12:05:54 AM
it is gonna be pretty funny to watch people complain about such a cynical ending of a show that took place inside of one of the most cynical industries of all time, though
5/18/2015 12:46:25 AM
Yeah I enjoyed the finale. Bummed it's over. Joan, Pete, Roger, Peggy all are happy. Hard to be upset about that. And Don's ending was fitting.
5/18/2015 7:52:16 AM
there was some great one liners last night.. joan to roger (about roger marrying megan's mom): that's spectacular. what a mess!joan after trying cocaine: i feel like i just got some very good news!peggy to pete (after harry was disappointed they couldn't all get lunch): he acts like we always get lunch together. we've never once eaten lunch together. pete to peggy (after telling her that people would brag about having worked with her): no one's ever said that to me. roger had some classic roger lines as well.[Edited on May 18, 2015 at 8:21 AM. "All I got was 'suitcase'! If you're going to yell at me, do it slower or do it in English!"I think I'm going to miss Roger the most. That was a funny mother fucker.
5/18/2015 11:45:13 AM
The phone conversations between Don & Peggy and Don & Betty were pretty awesome. Gonna miss this show a whole hell of a lot.
5/18/2015 12:05:34 PM
really liked it. i think the ending with Don's smile and then right into the Coke ad was great. (Peggy mentioned coke in the phone call). was the smile an "I'm at peace" smile or i just got an idea for the greatest coke ad ever.
5/18/2015 1:41:56 PM
Great final episode. I got to say, I was pretty disappointed with about 10 minutes left in the episode, and it was evident that we would not see another pitch by Don. But they couldn't have redeemed the episode any better. Great ending.
5/18/2015 2:12:24 PM
not much optimism in him co-opting a culture for an ad for Cokewhich is fine, because that's what the show was, but I think most would think an optimistic ending would have been him finding inner peace at that camp and ditching the Don Draper persona all together
5/18/2015 2:33:55 PM
I guess I meant optimistic overall. It was a happy ending for everyone (other than Betty and the kids), including Don, who got to go back to create one of the most iconic ads of all time. And maybe he did find "inner peace", though knowing Don, I doubt it.
