Thank fucking god..that's next door to our studio and fat daddy's is fucking disgusting. I can't eat at a place where you scoop your ketchup out of a vat..

I can get down with some panera though

I guess their buns aren't bad, but they're like twice the size of their regular burger...but more importantly, the meat sucks. Had to come out of the freezer.

If you want a good burger go to PR, Chuck's, Bad Daddy's, or The Raleigh Times. I like Five Guys, but it's a different style of burger.

I remember the shameless ripoff that was at Cameron Village for 6 months called Uncle Fatty's.

If you're in N. Raleigh, Chow cooks their burgers to order for real. Pink and juicy!

Place was packed today. I was downstairs, and it was empty. Ordered chicken sammich and tater skins. Free pool was nice.

I don't care too much that Fat Daddy's is closing, but do we really need another fucking Panera? There's one in the mall less than 2 miles from that location.

This.

A year or so ago I went back for the first time in a long, long while and it wasn't the same. Not sure if it changed or I did. Plus it was really expensive for what you got. I guess that's why they went under.

^It's not going under, just being sold. There's no indication that it's not been profitable, just that the old owners don't wanna deal with it anymore. Its the new owners that are planning on tearing it to the ground.

I am going tomorrow night for one last burger. Still remember having t-ball & pop warner "end of year" parties in the basement party rooms, and my mom taking me for a burger (covered in cheese sauce of course) after a good report card!

Just had a damn good bacon cheese burger with hash browns on the side, doused them bitches in catsup and the cheese sauce.

RIP Fat Daddys.

A couple years ago, Fat Daddy's got a 91 health rating. They asked to get re-inspected and got an 88 the second time.

Wouldn't be surprised if business slumped after that.

I love when a place is closing and all of these people flock to it for "one last time" when in reality if you didn't quit going there in the first place it would still be around...

Except the indications here are that this place is closing, not because it wasn't popular, but because the old dusty farts that own it don't really want to keep it going. And who can blame them, they've kept it running for almost 30 years, time to cash out.

Lots of restaurant owners do this. After decades of running a restaurant, they eventually want to retire, or at least reduce their workload, and the way to do that is to sell off the business, take that big paycheck and invest it in a motor home or condo in Florida.

I wanted to move back to Raleigh...and live downtown...I had this place as a bonus for lunch time treats. then I got the news.

Need to get their ranch recipe.

Also I want to get one of their neon signs. Wonder how we can do that.
