None of these mean anything. These girls may take more work, but they, at least subconsciously, know what tinder is for.

The key is to never explicitly say you're looking for a relationship. That gives you both an out when the time comes.

Most humans are just animals, they only have a handful of things on their minds. If you are legit not just looking for a hookup, you're in the minority, you're in the top 2% of people:


Any site that caters to the masses will be succumbed by the will of the masses. If you want something different, you'd have to find a site that only attracts a minority of the people.

The double edge to this is that there are solid people out there, that don't know what they want, and finding the right person will change that.

It just boils down to having high standards in your profile, putting up with a LOT of chaff, and playing the numbers game and Bridget mentioned. You'll have to tell 98 people to screw off, before you find the 2 that might want to work with you.

If that's seriously what the majority of people do want though, then this is pretty fucking depressing.

The only times I've ever really had one-night stands/pure hookups was when I had either planned it, or got really drunk. Otherwise I would like something of quite a bit more substance.

well to be fair this was the app's original principle and in large metropolitan areas it's still very much the main usage. i think it's the population of users in smaller, less urban, areas that are using as a dating service more than a late night hook up app.

My theory is that religions thrive because oligarchs recognized the need to control people without having to spend the time educating them. Eating pork isn't considered a sin because someone one time hated pork, it's because someone probably noticed a correlation with poor pork cooking prep, and illness, and it's easier to tell people they're going to Hell for eating it, than telling them to clean their cooking surfaces and cook it thoroughly.

There has to be a secular function that can fill the same role...
