the best thing about that Indian McDonald's is that the veggie burgers are less expensive than meatI mean those things are tasty but super-expensive in 'murrikuhI haven't eaten one since my college days at the dorm buffet

did u know a macdonalds' revenue will drop 25% within a week of their advertisements being stopped?if you eat that shit, you're basically a fucking drone.

i got pizza and beer at a Mcdonalds when I was in France in '99.And I totally remember the buffet bar at wendy's back in the day. I think the one we went to in Charlotte was pretty much just salad, potatoes and chili, and when they stopped doing it, they left the empty buffet there for yeaaaars, always giving me false hope that it might return. jerks.

The first Google image search for Hardee's skat thru brings up the one in Littleton NC which is the only one I knew existed.[Edited on December 15, 2013 at 3:45 PM. Reason : is not isn't]

Contemplated getting something at McD when I was out at a mall and my next feeding was due (lifting, so eating a lot of protein). But, there were other much better options, so I didnt.Praise The Lord.

Hardee's used to have really good roast beef sandwiches and a lot of them still have chicken (good chicken, btw). I remember there being one of those Skat chicken places in Burgaw where a regular Hardees is now. I miss the steak houses where you could order a steak and potato that was reasonably priced. There is still a Western Sizzlin like that in Wallace, but everywhere else just has the GC lounge with it's nasty trough and tough little pieces of steak.

1. Hardee's cinnamon raisin biscuits were a Saturday event in my house growing up. 2. We'd get them at the Smithfield Hardee's which is now Rite-Aid. 3. They also had a KFC Buffet at the one in Selma. I still see signs for KFC Buffet on the way to the beach, maybe around Kinston.4. There was also a Hardee's Skat-Thru in Fuquay-Varina. I remember going there on the way to some Boy Scout thing. It was just a Hardee's with a stupid name. I ordered 12 hot dogs there. But I only ate 3. You can't eat 12 hot dogs, Norm, it's not physically possible.5. Did anyone elses parents ever tell them you'd get Leukemia from eating more than 10 hot dogs in a week?[Edited on December 17, 2013 at 12:48 PM. Reason : x]

i never understood what the Skat-Thru really was.
12/17/2013 12:58:31 PM
I was reading about it, I vaguely remember Skats as a child. I think Bodie Noell Enterprises (huge Hardees franchisee in NC) owned Skats and converted them all to Hardees as a streamlining measure, but wanted to keep the old brand alive for a while.

So now this thread is remember old crap fast food chains used to do. I'll go:Burger King:They had their own cast of characters, a king and some weird looking people, all human actors (not the more recent flourishing King). Competing with McDonad's cast of characters I suppose.I remember some of the toys revolving around simple magic tricks.Burger Bundles - the mini burgers the first time they did them.Hardee's:I remember the California Raisins more than anything else.McDonald's:Happy meals that came in a plastic container shaped like cars from the Dukes of Hazzard.Playgrounds with this:Happy meals that came with records, the one I remember was the multi-part Gremlins series. Each week they'd have a new booklet that came with a record. The stupid Bic Mac, McDLT, a quarterpounder with some cheese, filet o fish, a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a happy meal, etc. song. You'd get a record and if the people on the record could make it through the song without screwing up you won something or other. All:Commemorative glasses were all the rage back then. I remember the Smurfs, the Great Muppet Caper, and some from one of the Star Wars movies - maybe ESB.

BK Kids Club came after the BK cast of characters I was referring to.Burger bundles buddies Bundles. I looked it up because they did it twice. Wiki said they called them bundles the first go round and buddies the second go round.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Bz66V6cjB0[Edited on December 17, 2013 at 7:29 PM. Reason : -]
