So, Walmart made a good decision, is probably going to lose that money, and people still give them shit over it?

We already went over this. Write it off as a loss. Clear out potentially old product. Win win

^^ Wal-Mart made a dumb decision, lost a few bucks, got a massive amount of media attention, and wants to leverage it for goodwill. Goodwill that a few of us won't give to their shitty company.WowSo GenerousWal-Mart CaringEnd HungerWow[Edited on October 17, 2013 at 9:55 AM. Reason : l]

Walmart was probably more worried about the negative publicity or rioting that would have occurred if they would have shut down the registers during the glitch.

I love all the Walmart hate, but somehow people always seem to leave out the fact that they are the #1 private job creator in the country. Yep, there is probably shitty pay and benefits, but there are people who are willing to work for those wages. I'm not defending Walmart here considering I usually shop somewhere else more expensive for groceries b/c I don't want to stand in 1 of the 3 out of 28 lanes they have open. F that!

There are people who will suck dick for crack too. That doesn't make it right. Just saying.Ok...better analogy. The average Chinese factory worker makes somewhere around $1.35 per hour. People will work for that (and even far less) so they don't starve and die in the streets, but that doesn't mean it's a good direction for the American economy to take. Four of the top ten richest Americans have the last name "Walton". 40% of the ten richest people in America gained their wealth by inheriting Wal-Mart. Converting US workers to $1.35/hour employees would be fantastic for their collective net worth, but terrible for pretty much every other aspect of the American economy.I love capitalism, but when a company such as Wal-Mart uses it's status as an economic powerhouse in ways that are damaging to the American people or the American economy it becomes an issue. They get by because taxpayers are picking up the bill for their questionable practices via welfare programs. I, for one, don't care to prop up the Walton family net worth with my tax dollars and I don't see why anyone else would either. It's not that they can't afford to pay fair wages, they just haven't had to.[Edited on October 17, 2013 at 1:10 PM. Think about the effect it will have on the luxury boat industry.

Why is anybody posting in this troll thread? All the dumbasses in here talking about how poor people are the ones to blame are the same idiots who wouldn't be able to back up their ideas in TSB. That's why they're in Shit Chat.

because most people would rather let Chuck Norris use their sack as a speed bag than go into soap box and deal with that dumbassery =/= wouldn't be able to back up their ideas. also, so tough

You can't take it in their because after a couple short rounds of pointing out your flawed logic and highly emotional positions you'd get banned. In Chit Chat, you can get away with only calling people names and never offering any evidence to back up your position, which is the basis of all conservative arguments.

^^nailed it big guy. Couldn't be that spending time going back and forth with some dude on the interwebz about politics could be the most pointless waste of time ever. Couldn't be that you'd just throw out condescending generalities and assume you're intellectually elite, which I guess is the basis for all liberal arguments. who needs fact when you have the reputable political source of imstoned420
