I didnt believe it at first either, but I dialed 1-800-382-5968 and it sent me there.[Edited on October 3, 2013 at 7:17 PM. Reason : wait, I just called both numbers. It is a redirect / call forward. Still funny though.]

For the first time ever, I failed a dynamic KBA test, so now I have to call 1-866-578-5409I tried it earlier today and it told me to call later, because of high call volume.Dynamic KBA tests use information pulled from stuff like your credit report, and they're normally used when you open a bank account or order your credit report, to ensure that it's really you trying to access this service: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge-based_authentication#Dynamic_KBA[Edited on October 4, 2013 at 12:52 AM. LOL, so have any of YOU PEOPLE bought obamacare insurance yet?
10/6/2013 10:21:34 AM
I already have insurance and I'm not sick. I'm not the target audience.
10/6/2013 10:27:40 AM
^^It would be foolish at this time even if the exchanges worked perfectly; better to wait until early December, after inspecting all of the plans over a period of two months, with more data for a better MAGI calculation.
10/6/2013 12:40:47 PM
actually managed to get in and start making the profile. of course, things went south once I found out you cannot shop AS an individual if you are married (at least not online) even if you file separate taxes. it requires you to put in all of your spouse's income and shop together or lie (on a federal form) even if only one spouse is looking for coverage. it may just be a fault with the online application though because the way the question is asked, it seems to want to offer you the ability to say "my spouse isn't looking" but it doesn't present you with any actual option that lets you go that direction.

there is no such thing as obamacare insurance, the public option was removed

FYI, if your in NC, just go to bcbsnc.com. Since that's the only insurer in the state, you'll see the same plans and prices and it is way easier. healthcare.gov want your name, address, birthday, ssn, etc before they'll show you the plans. BCBSNC just needs your birthdate and zipcode.
10/6/2013 11:12:22 PM
^There is one other provider in the state, but they only service like 20 counties whereas BCBS is available in all 100 countiesseems to me the only thing ACA is doing in North Carolina is jacking up the prices of Blue Cross Blue Shieldwhat a bunch of bullshit[Edited on October 6, 2013 at 11:23 PM. i've been posting helpful information about ACA for days, i think you may have missed it during one of your rage fests where you were angrily posting everywhere
10/7/2013 1:18:34 PM
If you'll notice I don't think I've really raged against your ACA specific postings, because for whatever reason you've actually decided not to troll in this one particular subject. You should apply that attitude to other threads you decide to participate in.

10/7/2013 1:30:30 PM
Thank you for that calculator.I guess my next question has to do with switching jobs/changing income between enrolling and 12/31/14. Does it only matter at the time of enrolling what your 2014 predicted income will be or do they go back and penalize you tax-wise if your income actually rises significantly in 2014? In other words, are the subsidies on an assumed month-to-month basis - say I get a job that pays $80k in February - starting in March will the subsidies dissapear or do we get to repick plans or what happens?
10/7/2013 1:49:16 PM
should be from last year, you'll be using the income from Line 37 of your 1040and this first enrollment period is a long one, but the others will not be as long.
10/7/2013 5:13:26 PM
^^Actually starting on April 1 you won't be able to get a plan on the exchange at all and will have to wait until October 1; future open-enrollment periods (starting in Fall 2014) will only run from the start of October to the end of the year.
10/7/2013 7:39:54 PM
anyone able to log in yet? I'm still getting the "information entered isn't valid" error...

My primary issue with the site is that I can't view any plans unless I fill out an application first. Apparently it is only going to let me view plans that I qualify for based on income, household members, etc. And I'd prefer not to give all that to them at this point. Is the American populace too stupid to figure this out for themselves? Do I need a website to tell me what I can and can't afford? Why can't they just list the rules for plan qualification and let me go from there?
10/8/2013 9:45:18 AM
Mine is that they can't even the sign-up/login process correct, or at least provide a true and informative error instead of shitting all over itself.

I've given them everything they asked for, submitted some information at least 5 times, uploaded copies of my drivers license, and still have yet to see a quote. Hoping to see something this week, idk.
10/8/2013 2:02:35 PM
i did what someone else recommended in this thread, just go to bcbsnc.comunless of course you're not in ncquotes in seconds

I have had all sorts of issues with the site. I have had BCBSNC through the NC State Employees health plan, but I am paying an extra $8k a year to have my wife and kids on it. I have been trying to see what a comparable plan would get me in the exchange, as I can probably qualify for some subsidies. But I got all of the major bugs! even a week after it rolled out. Here is my list:1) Could not get on2) Could not create an account3) Account created and then errors out4) Responded to the email 5 minutes after it delivered and it says I waited too long to respond5) hyperlinks are all fucked up. As I was filling out the forms today! I clicked three hyperlinks to show me more info and everyone of them was broken. Either missspelled, extra breaks, etc.6). Finally did all that and submitted. Now I am waiting for it to process. Fun!

10/9/2013 9:39:31 AM
Even today having issues, again. Yesterday I submitted it and completed the information. Today it says that my application is incomplete. Rather than showing me whats incomplete though, its trying to make me do the whole form again. When I get to putting in info about my wife's current insurance coverage (I have her covered from the State Health Plan) and when I hit Save & Continue, it just freezes. After getting this on three different browsers on two different computers, I tried to do the Chat Now.So after I wait 15 minutes, Jessica comes on the chat. She basically just says "Hi, what can I help you?" and then immediately responds with "I'm sorry the site is now working for you. Just keep trying as we are working to make it better. Thanks for your patience." So the Live Chat could just be an automated response for all its worth. To make it better, I called the phone system to see if they could help. They told me the website was messed up and that they would have to manually re-enter everything if I wanted to do it over the phone, as they could not use the website information, even though I had my Application ID. Wow, that is super fucking efficient.
10/9/2013 11:57:36 AM
^^If you want to be safe, wait until early December.
