It's a fact that the average person overestimates the number of hours they work in an "average" week. (Unless they are paid hourly or otherwise closely tracking their hours)

We talking like they over estimate that they show up for 40 hours, or over estimate how much they actually work when at work.

that they show up

Oh, I mean I can estimate how many hours I actually show up easily... I show up and leave the same time every day. Legitimately working is far harder to project.

I ACTUALLY worked maybe 3 hours today - and that's a good day[Edited on September 3, 2013 at 7:39 PM. Reason : ]

I have to say, now that I've actually got some better subordinates I'm working a lot less. I used to clock around 50-55 hours per week on salary, and that's on a 4 day work week. The last couple of weeks I've managed to slide out around 32-36 hours in a week.
